About this property

Rustic Cowboy Bunkhouse 🤠

Enjoy wide open spaces, starry nights and quiet, fresh country air? Our two bedroom bunkhouse has private parking and access to our own park and playground and boasts it’s own cowboy double shower. Read, bird watch, or nap on the covered porch on cool nights or warm afternoons. Star-gaze without city glare. Hike to the tops of the hills for spectacular sun rises and sunsets. A/C and WiFi available. Various farm animals to enjoy watching. Pets welcome.

Come unwind by the fire pit and enjoy the quiet.

The space
We are uniquely located on the edge of the Palouse in a remote area only 20 miles to Palouse Falls, 40 minutes to Walla Walla or an hour to Tri-Cities.

Fish or bird hunt on the Snake River, or at nearby “feel free to hunt” or register to hunt areas. Also nearby is a pheasant hunting preserve. Details available upon request.

You can also visit Palouse Falls, historic Dayton or Walla Walla, or relax and unwind on the covered porch.

Keep the remote location in mind if needing to purchase groceries and supplies, or wanting to eat out.

The breakfast provided is left in the bunkhouse and is oatmeal packets and breakfast bars. Farm fresh eggs will be provided seasonally.

There is a queen bed, two twin bunk beds and a twin size trundle bed under one set of bunk beds. There is an air mattress and some sleeping bags but it will be challenging to fit the air mattress on the floor when the trundle bed is pulled out.

Full Kitchen added April 2022. Starlink internet added July 2022.

Extra linens are located in a tote under both the queen bed and the bunk bed that does not have the trundle bed under it.

*Additional a la cart or package “farm-type” activities available. Please see “OTHER DETAILS” section in this listing for more information or private message us for details, prices and availability.

Guest access
Guests have access to the small side yard, the park, fire pit and playground on the property.

The host family lives here with their children and normal farm animals and activities, please be respectful of their space, jobs and time.

Other things to note
For holiday or winter stays on the ranch, we offer occasional a la cart and package activities such as hay rides, holiday meals, and interactions with farm animals. For farm animal interaction we offer: feeding snacks to pigs, gathering eggs, mucking stalls, brushing and learning to milk a cow by hand, and pitch forking hay to the horses.

Please private message us for prices and availability.

A nights stay on the way to the Palouse hills
We stayed here on our Eastern Wa road trip. To be honest there weren’t many options in this part of Washington and I chose it because it was one of the few properties available in this area. But we really struck oil because it happened to be one of the most awesome places I’ve stayed. Wished we would have stayed longer. Owned by a kind family, a rustic and comfortable cabin with a ton of character, nested on a beautiful remote farm surrounded by hills of gold. One of the best experiences on our road trip, Thank You!

Trip inside the Palouse
A wonderful stay in a true cowboy bunkhouse - in the middle of the Palouse hills. There’s nothing like it and this bunkhouse stay gives you a sense of what it is to live there. The night skies are amazing. The host’s children are a joy and the family Great Pyrenees dog stayed up with us watching the meteors cross the sky.

3-day stay in the Palouse
Very enjoyable stay. Bunkhouse was comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed meeting Gretchen and family, and seeing a part of the state we don't often visit. A great base location for visiting Palouse Falls and for birding in the area.

We are a family of seven. Native Western Nebraskan's who have moved to the PNW for a third time-third time's a charm!?! We love working, mostly, but when we aren't working you'll find us enjoying the outdoors, riding horses, hunting, fishing, enjoying our friends and church family. We enjoy music, raising various animals, including our newest family adventure: raising Pyredoodles and Bernedoodles. Our whole family takes part in everything we do and we love it! We would love to have you join our life here on the farm!

Why they chose this property

Our bunkhouse provides us a unique opportunity to allow people who live different than us to enjoy a "new" (old?) way of life. Life is NOT slower on the farm, but it's different. We love to share what we do and we enjoy visiting about what you do and making our worlds collide in new friendships!

We have our own park here on our ranch and we have a lovely firepit to enjoy. Bring your smore sticks and supplies and enjoy the fire and the amazing view of the stars!

What makes this property unique

From time to time, we offer "entertainment" on the farm, which consists of joining us in our activities and/or providing hay rides around the farm. You will want to message us for more information and availability on this.
