Cozy Northern WI Cabin on the Lake!

Our newly renovated lake cabin on Pickerel Lake is the perfect place for family & friends to enjoy the Northwoods and relax on lake time! Make our home and Pickerel, WI your annual destination for a family getaway, weeklong fishing trip, couples competition weekend, or snowmobile trip with friends!

The space just received a HUGE facelift complete with: new light wood colored vinyl plank flooring on the entire first level, wall to wall windows looking out at the lake, a custom built wood kitchen table, muddy greens, warm neutrals, pickerel fish wallpaper, and moody browns.

THE SPACE:
The living room is perfect for a cozy night in, intense game night competition, or anything in between! Furnished with a large leather sectional, ottomans for additional seating, and a large TV.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cook/bakeware so you can whip up your favorite meals with ease! Comfortable dining for 6 indoors. When the weather is ideal, full family-style meals can be served outdoors on the deck overlooking the lake!

The main floor bedrooms have a queen bed and the primary has a king bed with ample space to unpack and settle in for your stay!

The bathroom is complete with a walk-in shower, sink, toilet, & smart storage solutions!

The upstairs attic has an entrance off the kitchen that leads into a giant room overlooking the lake. Here you'll find 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds along with a large open area complete with games!

We have TWO fishing kayaks (sit-on-top) for use during your stay. We ask that you return the kayaks to the top of the stairs before checking out.

There is a private dock with space to park 2+ boats, the public boat launch is 0.5 miles up the road.

The Area:
Our family has been heading "up north" to Pickerel Lake for over 30 years & love the area! There are over 6 bars/restaraunts ON THE LAKE & even more just a short drive away.

Pickerel Lake is a 1,272 acre lake with a depth of 19ft located in Forest/Langlade Counties. Fishing includes Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. The lake connects via a culvert to Crane Lake and can be accessed by small fishing boats and speed boats. Crane Lake is a 355 acre lake and depth of 25 feet. Fishing includes Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. The lake's water clarity is low.

RENTAL DETAILS:
—You are required to provide your bedding, linens and towels. We provide garbage bags, paper towel and TP.
—You are required to drop off your garbage at the town dump 2 miles away as there is no curbside pickup in the area.
—We do allow 1-2 dogs if they are monitored and cleaned up after both in the house and outside.
—The house is licensed for 8 overnight guests.
—No events allowed.
—The state and county collects 10% lodging tax, which consists of 5% State, 4.5% County, and .5% Local.

Perfect weekend getaway spot!

Very nice place and beautiful lake.

Enjoyed our stay very much, nice roomy cottage that was like new inside and quite comfortable. Lake was nice along with the outside property, nice lake view when out on the patio along with a beautiful stairway down to the water. Would suggest this place to others wanting a nice stay on a lake.

Nice Fall Stay

We enjoyed our stay at this Pickerel Lake Cabin. The fall colors in the area were breathtaking. Enjoyed the chance to do a little fishing, an evening fire pit, and kayaking. The place was very cozy and comfortable and met all our needs.

Beautiful lake property

My family and I enjoyed our week long stay in this cozy, well maintained lake front property. The house had everything we needed, we loved the decor and the overall layout was ideal for the 6 of us!! The lake was so peaceful and we enjoyed kayaking, boating, swimming, and sitting by the fire with incredible views of the night sky! Will definitely keep this place in mind for the future getaways!

Awesome getaway “Up North”

A quintessential “up north” getaway. The cottage was clean, quaint, and beautifully updated. We kayaked every day and spent our evenings around the fire pit. A very sunny front porch… bring an umbrella!

Family vacation

The cottage was wonderful. Very comfortable beds. Really nice kitchen. Plenty of room for 4 adults and two teens. Teens loved the kayaks. Fishing was great all week. Lots of northern, bass and pan fish.

Needed a get away

this place is very nice! we loved our stay there! we did not have a boat for fishing, but we still caught great fish off the dock!!! we grilled out every night while sitting on the porch area. I would for sure come back to this place!!! really was a relaxing time!!

Wonderful Lake View

We just went for a quick weekend away, we loved the view! We had everything we needed for a wonderful peaceful weekend. The house was as pictured. The pontoon boat was nice to have and we enjoyed riding around the lake and fishing. Lots of places to eat in the area. We've been up to Pickerel several times and have always enjoyed the restaurants, and people up there are always friendly. We love seeing all the deer everywhere. Would recommend this property.

Thank you for your review & feedback Daniel! We have addressed the windows & will be scheduling quarterly window cleanings so the gorgeous views of the lake stay nice and clear year-round. Unfortunately there is no cable at this point, but there are streaming services available. We will be getting an antennae for next season to help capture local channels for those interested. The tv instructions are found in the welcome guide and welcome binder on site, but it is a smart tv & we apologize if settings were changed and things were moved around so that you couldn’t enjoy some Netflix or Hulu in the living room. Always feel free to reach out during your stay if you have any trouble with the technology. I hope despite the challenges you were able to enjoy your time at the lake & we apologize for any inconvenience during your stay!

Just Too Hot

Overall we were pleased. Surprised to find the home so covered in bugs and webs. The lack of AC on 100 degree days was tough and a difficulty for us. would also have been nice to watch TV but limited bandwidth was a problem.

THE coziest cabin

I’m so glad I found this cabin to rent. It was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I and my in-laws for the week. I’m very familiar with Pickerel, WI and wanted to share it with my in-laws. Interior is gorgeous and lower level is recently renovated. Any problems that arose I was able to reach out to the owner and it was taken care of in a timely manner. We brought a fishing boat but I think we caught more fish off the end of the pier! The cabin is also kitty corner to Pickerel Point Resort so it’s just a short boat ride away to get away for a bit if you need. And the neighbors are extremely friendly - they came over and chatted for a while. Great place to stay if you don’t need a place that sleeps more than 5+ people. And you can’t beat the view from the kitchen/living room windows!

Our Family Vacation

My family & I (along with Weasley, our dog) enjoyed our stay at Becca's. The cabin is nicely decorated, comfortable & we were impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked. The living room fan did not work but there was a breeze from the lake so we probably wouldn't have used it anyways. We have a family cabin (off the lake) in the Northwoods and the main reason we rented a place is so the kids could just walk out the door and go swimming so we were disappointed that it was weedy. At the time of our booking the listing stated swimming within 100 feet. However, overall, we had a great time & thoroughly enjoyed the use of the kayaks. Our first night, my son caught a 18" Bass from the pier. Area activities we took advantage of were horseback riding, tubing down the Wolf River, the Fish Hatchery (guaranteed to snag a Trout) & a couple visits to the local shop for some of the best ice cream! We are so glad to hear that your family had a great time at the lake this year and took advantage of so many of the great activities the Northwoods has to offer! As with everywhere in Northern WI this year, the lake levels were abnormally low due to lack of rainfall this Spring & Summer so the weeds are not typically this bad. We are glad to hear the fishing off the pier was successful though, what a catch! The lake breeze from the living room windows is always wonderful, but we did change the batteries in the ceiling fan remote and it is fully functioning again. Thank you for letting us know that it wasn't working!

Review of our stay

We feel that bringing our own bedding and towels was a lot to have to bring for 5 beds and 8 people! Upon arrival we were disappointed to see that there was only 1 extra paper towel and toilet paper roll to last us the whole week for 8 people. After contacting the host they advised that there should be more and gave us access to the extra supply in the basement. Additionally, the window frames were caked with dead bugs and in the evening there were so many bugs flying around in the cabin, and we had to wipe up dead bugs each morning off the table and countertops. There was also a water blockage in the shower and the guys spent over 2 hours trying to find the blockage in the basement. The host gave us some chemical to put in the drain, which worked but it was a lot for us to have to deal with while on vaca! On our departure day we weren't told that we had to separate all the recycling and open up all garbage bags before dumping them, what made it worse was that some had dog poop and dead fish in them! That was disgusting!!! All of this lead to us not leaving by 10 am because the dump doesn't open until 10 am. and the cleaning crew sat in their cars waiting for us.

My parents purchased the cabin next door with their college roommates, and my siblings and I grew up coming to the Cabin for weeks at a time in the summer and for long weekends snowmobiling in the winter. When the property next door went up for sale it was the perfect opportunity for create a cabin that others can enjoy just as much as we enjoy ours!
