Unique studio w/ pool, spa & gardens near downtown
Summary:
House of Meesh is a newly renovated, two-story detached building located in up-and-coming historic Springfield, less than one mile from downtown Jacksonville. The former garage space has been professionally transformed into two standalone studio units (w/separate entrances) — one upstairs (The Loft) and one downstairs (Clubhouse). The building is situated on a large rare double lot in the urban neighborhood, with a pool, jacuzzi, pavilion, fire pit, towering oak trees and tropical landscaping.
The Space:
The downstairs studio unit, House of Meesh: Clubhouse, is a colorful, bright and modern space, with a clubhouse game-room theme. The dining room table transforms into either a pool table or a card game table when the top cover is flipped over, and the unit’s coffee table does double duty as a foosball game. A dart board hangs on the wall near the dining table.
With the help of a professional designer, we created the one-of-a-kind studio spaces, meticulously furnishing and appointing the units to include everything a traveler could need.
The property includes a pool, jacuzzi and spacious garden oasis, with lounge areas in the sun or under a pavilion’s shade. On cooler nights, guests are welcome to use the stone paver fire pit. Private, secured parking spaces for both units are available via a back alley and an electronic privacy gate. Both units are monitored with outdoor-only security cameras.
Walk or bike to downtown events like Jacksonville Jaguars games or concerts at Vystar Memorial Arena or Daily’s Place, or hide away in this garden oasis. Swim, soak in the hot tub or simply enjoy wine by the pool after a long workday. A peaceful sanctuary, it’s easy to forget you’re in an urban neighborhood, within walking distance to downtown Jacksonville.
House of Meesh is located at the far back of the property with enough distance to the main house.

The Neighborhood:
House of Meesh is located in historic Springfield, Jacksonville’s hippest up-and-coming urban neighborhood. As the oldest neighborhood in Jacksonville, Springfield still retains much of its historic character and contains some of the best examples of late 19th and early 20th century architecture that the city has to offer.
Springfield, like so many other urban neighborhoods in the United States, fell into a period of decline in the mid 20th century. As the neighborhood is still undergoing revitalization, many of the homes have been beautifully restored, while some still need attention. You may see aspects of the transitional nature such as litter and a few homes in disrepair. However, the neighborhood is a safe, vibrant and active community, with highly engaged residents. For the safety of our guests and their belongings, House of Meesh features off-street, gated parking and outdoor-only security cameras.
Modern day Springfield is arguably one of the most attractive neighborhoods in Jacksonville, due to its beautiful architecture, gridded streets, walkability and bikeability, variety of parks, eclectic nightlife, unique restaurants, proximity to Downtown, abundant social events, and friendly neighbors. National, state, and local media have taken notice and highlighted our dynamic and growing community.
Getting Around:
Springfield is an urban neighborhood, less than one mile from downtown Jacksonville. The neighborhood is the most walkable and bikeable in all of Jacksonville, and you'll see many neighbors driving their golf carts to restaurants, bars and breweries.

FURRY HOSTS
Your furry hosts are two dogs (Chloe and Claire) and two cats (Dixie and Libby).
Claire in particular, the large black and white dog, is very scared of strangers and is not allowed in the open yard when guests are around.
Please do not interact with her or try to pet her, especially when she is in her closed-off gated dog run.
She will bark loudly from the gated dog run and the upstairs front porch, but she is kept away from guests at all times, and we appreciate you adhering to our policy of not interacting with her.
Even though Chloe (the other dog) is usually friendly, we ask that you refrain from interacting with her out of an abundance of caution.
All guests have access to the common areas of the property (front porch, laundry room, backyard).
If another set of guests, our cleaners, or a property notices that there is guest property or trash left out, this will be removed. If we can’t distinguish property from trash, there is a possibility it will be thrown out.
If this continues (I.e. you use shared space as personal space and/or throw what appears to be trash there), we reserve the right to ask you to check out early / move to another listing at your cost.
Local Reservation Policy
Reservations under 7 nights from guests residing in the local area may be subject to cancellation at our discretion. We handle exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Thank you, Melody, for your lovely feedback! We're thrilled you enjoyed our beautiful garden. It’s a special place for relaxation, and we can't wait to welcome you back for another wonderful stay!
The place is beautiful. The garden is spectacular the pool was cold but refreshing and the hot tub was wonderful, just like the pictures. Note that you will need to contact the property manager when you want the hot tub turned on. The place was great and it’s not too far from Amelia island which is also a must see.

Melissa, you get it. The garden? Slayed. The pool? A little chilly, but that’s just Florida’s version of a cold plunge. The hot tub? Certified main character energy. Thanks for shouting out Amelia Island too, we love a guest with good taste. Next time, we’ll have the jets ready the moment you walk in. Come back anytime, Queen.
Would definitely stay again if we were back in Jax!

The pool and spa area were great. The host was very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. The neighborhood was rougher than we anticipated, but it seemed relatively safe and the property itself is well-secured and well-lit at night. Our only issue was the a/c did not keep the unit cool and the humidifier leaked water onto the floor overnight.

Dylan, appreciate the honest review. The pool and spa always understand the assignment. Glad we could be quick on the replies too. We hear you on the A/C and dehumidifier, both have been handled so future guests can chill in peace. The neighborhood’s got character, but we keep things secure and bright. Thanks for the feedback and for vibing with us anyway.
Beautiful property with a very nice spa and pool area felt like a private oasis

Thank you, Eli! We're so happy you loved the property and got to unwind in the spa and pool area—it’s all about that private oasis vibe! 🌴✨ Your kind words mean the world to us and keep us inspired to make every stay just as relaxing. Can’t wait to have you back for another chill getaway! 🏖️💛
The place was alright just smaller expected but the mini fridge struggled to keep our drinks cold and the oven offered was only a small convection oven. I wished the bottom of the pool was cleaned before we arrived, but it was fine besides that. Downtown is very condensed amd can be difficult to navigate sometimes but the actual neighborhood is very nice.

Eryka, thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your thoughts. The space is cozy, and the photos and square footage match what’s listed. The kitchenette comes with a countertop convection oven instead of a full range, which is also mentioned on the listing. The mini fridge is in great shape, but it can take a little time to cool after being fully stocked with drinks.
As for downtown being condensed, that’s actually how every downtown is meant to be. It’s the heart of the city, so everything’s close together and busy with life. That’s part of the fun and convenience of staying near all the action. We’re happy you still enjoyed the neighborhood and overall vibe, and we’d love to have you back anytime.
Everything we needed, games provided were a bonus.

Thank you for choosing this property for your recent stay, Elle! We look forward to having you again. :)
My spouse & I stayed here in June of ‘24 and had the best time! It was like a private oasis or sanctuary, and the decor & furnishings of the rental was awesome- particularly the bed! So comfortable. Mgmt/owners were awesome & very attentive. Loved having the pool & hot tub steps from the door. The private off-street parking was nice too. We’ll definitely stay here the next time we’re in the Jax area!
Stayed in August for 4 nights. The unit was eclectic and cozy; perfect for what we needed, as it was really just for sleeping/changing. The backyard was AMAZING and truly an oasis.
My friend and I stayed for 3 weeks just for a change of scenery while working remotely. The place was beautiful and clean. It was just quiet and relaxing. The owner was nice and management responded in a timely manner with any questions. Jacksonville was just a whole vibe and we will be back!
This place was AMAZING!!! Exactly what we were looking for - they thought of every detail :) If you forgot to pack something, I can assure, the owner has thought of everything and it is probably there in the condo :) The pool and courtyard area was SO beautiful and relaxing. We will be returning for sure!!!! The Olinger's
Our stay at the house of Meesh met our needs and expectations. We had a very enjoyable time in Jacksonville. The communication with the host was prompt and helpful.Parking in the rear gated area worked but it is very tight in & out. The only additional suggestions would be to have a mat or carpet outside of the shower to minimize water on floor. Also a hairdryer would be nice to have available. Overall, a very accommodating space for two!
I stayed for a little over two weeks while on a work trip. For the first week we worked outside in the Jacksonville heat. The unit was nice and cool every day when returning from work. The refrigerator was big enough to get plenty of food in and the charcoal grill was a nice plus. Cute quite place to stay at a very reasonable rate!
Came for work. But this place is so relaxing. Access to the pool and heated jacuzzi was one of the best parts of this stay. The place was equipped with everything that I needed. Parking for my vehicle and my co worker was accessible easily. I felt safe while staying there. Stores and dance clubs and adult lounges and a pool hall , are minutes away. The place was spotless and kept nice. The shower was nice and clean and had hot water right away. Had a microwave and a toaster oven which was great for my leftovers. Smart Tv was huge on the wall. Communication with the owner was great. Text the day before my stay , during my stay and after my stay. Looking to make this spot one of my regular stay places.

I want to start by saying, the place itself was and is- amazing! That’s the reason we booked a second time. This time, however, the EXPERIENCE was less than stellar to say the least. This was a short stay (3 nts, post business) and after a long work week, we were looking forward to a couple days of downtime in the quiet oasis this unit promises. What actually happened, is another matter. The morning after arrival, the main house was being painted. Not really a biggie as we stayed in the rear property. But the next day? The painters were actually painting OUR unit & no one advised us AHEAD of time! That meant no privacy inside the home OR outside the home when in the pool/hot tub- our main agenda… The painting crew were there until 7pm- ON the unit, outside the unit & around the pool all day. The next morning was our departure day. When we settled back in at home, we emailed the issue to Eric expecting to be comped for a percentage of the stay and the response was that we should’ve told him on the day of so they could MOVE us to a different unit; on the day before we were to check out, we were to pack up & move to a different unit??? Neat, but NO! In addition, the actual owner showed up around 6:00 pm and objected to the intrusion and apologized for the noise, intrusion, etc. We were given to think something more than an apology would be done seeing as how she was completely aware of the events. Nope! Hence, our follow-up email to Eric, but to no avail. Disappointing, be aware
