Our stay was incredible! The property was equipped with everything we needed, making us feel right at home. The amenities were a huge plus, and the friendly and helpful host made our experience even better. However, we did encounter two minor issues: mice in the laundry room and a leaking toilet. Other than that everything was perfect. Beautiful home!
we were able to spend quality time together as a family at this lo ation. With a bit of driving (30 - 40 min) we were able to visit extended family And get to a Badger game.andvisotextended family and
The property is in an unusually gorgeous location and is a retreat that can be enjoyed in all four seasons that visit Wisconsin. The house is modern and very clean. Our family guests enjoyed their stay and everyone said the home was quite comfortable. If you are considering visiting this area, be sure to consider this property for your visit.

WATCH YOUR STEP!
The home was clean. However, there were many levels or steps that had to be navigated by the elderly that stayed with us. Other than the master bath, the other baths were located away from the bedrooms and with the different levels posed a difficult journey at night. The loft was not easy to get to and we were unable to use it.

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that the elevator was not in order during your stay. I encourage you to mention the need for accommodation to your future hosts prior to your arrival to make sure everything is set up for success. Perhaps some nightlights in the halls would be beneficial to add for ease in finding restrooms at night (though there are restrooms on both levels, so you shouldn't need to climb stairs in either direction from the bedrooms). The loft isn't really factored in to the sleeping accommodations on the listing, but yes, it is a steep climb for those who choose to explore up there.
There is LOTS of living space with 3 living rooms and 2 dining areas so that was most appreciated. What was a little misleading was the beds - 4 bedrooms, 4 beds. There was a ladder on a wall to what I guess was a loft bedroom but we were too old to climb it so have no idea what was up there. Any other sleeping arrangements would have been a sofa bed. The deck had no furniture so wasn't used. Wood was provided for the fire-ring which had chairs. And the area is just beautiful!

Hi Genevieve,
Thank you for being great guests and taking good care of the home. Glad you enjoyed your stay overall. I'm not sure how we could make the sleeping arrangements more clear - in the "rooms" section of our listing it lays out what bed are in each of the 4 bedrooms (king, 2 queens & a full) and that there are 4 sofas that can also be used for sleeping. I would welcome your feedback on how this could be more clear, as we certainly aren't trying to be deceptive with the arrangements.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Trout House. The property was beautiful, the house was clean, communication was excellent, we had plenty of space, plenty to do, and all we needed for our stay. The grown-ups enjoyed learning more about the history of the house and looking at the eclectic artwork; the kids loved all of the fun stuff to do in the lower level.
The one major issue with the stay was the enormous construction project happening right outside the front door of the house. They appeared to be tearing up the whole highway, with several large pieces of equipment. The crew got started at 7:00am every morning of our stay - including holidays and weekends - and worked nonstop until 5:00pm.
Of course this was out of the control of the homeowners. And to be fair, the property manager did warn us a few days prior to the trip so at least we were not surprised when we arrived. But unfortunately, the construction really impacted our overall satisfaction. Instead of natural beauty when we looked out the windows, we saw construction equipment and piles of dirt. We could not spend any time outside enjoying the property during the day because all we heard was drilling and trucks backing up. There were no fish in the stream, no wildlife to be seen, and no way to block out the noise, even while in the house.
It's a bummer, because otherwise this was an amazing property. We would absolutely love to stay again, but only after the construction project is complete.
The house itself is amazing plenty of room. The host is very quick to respond to questions. Would highly recommend this house if you are in the area. Hope to be back next year
First off, this house is amazing! The property is set in a peaceful remote area that is ideal if you like waking up to the sounds of nature. It is about a 30 minute drive from Madison so if you goal is to commute, it may not be ideal. But for us, it was so nice to head back here in the evenings and enjoy a relaxing time with our group. Rooms are super large and spacious and there are beds and couches enough to lounge and relax. 3 full baths make for an easy morning and evening routine as well. Would definitely stay here again!
It want a nice big house with plenty of space to sleep us all. Super cute exterior with a nice deck and fire pit. Very quiet, private, and lots of wildlife to observe. I would recommend this house to any size party.
We stayed at the house for a long weekend of fly fishing. The location was great, close to a lot of great fishing locations. Very secluded and quiet, with on site stream access. The house is very large, with plenty of space to spread out. There is Wi-Fi, which is good because cell phone service was a little spotty.
