About this property

Restored farmhouse just steps from the Katy Trail

Relax in the country while enjoying views of the Missouri River bottom. 1,500 sq ft of outdoor living space. Super easy access to the Katy trail, hiking and stocked pond for fishing. Perfect for a family or small group. Patio is a great place for small celebrations. There is a second guest house in a repurposed grain bin. Sleeps a couple, one king bed. This guest house is also listed on VRBO.

Convenient to Starkenburg Shrine/ Valentine Hall and Little Piney Lodge wedding venue. Hermann is just a 15 minute drive. Transportation options out of Hermann are Hermann Trolley and Uber.

If you're looking for a serene, peaceful place tucked away in nature, this is the place! One can't help but switch to the relaxation mode the moment you drive up. The renovated farmhouse provides wonderful seating areas both inside and out that embraces the beautiful surroundings that nature provides. The house has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The location feels private, but not isolated. Hermann is just a 15 minute drive and has a variety of good restaurant options, interesting local shops and wineries and breweries. Definitely would stay here again!

We loved the quiet, country atmosphere, even though it was close to Hermann, the Katy trail and our wedding venue. Everything was well thought -out, down to the snacks, the "good" toilet paper, and a lovely fire waiting for us on the patio(where we spent hours relaxing). Would definitely stay again!

We had the best stay at Second Chance. The hosts were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. They made us a fire each night of our stay! The house and property are just so beautiful. Great stay near Hermann, MO! This home is conveniently located near Hermann for shops and restaurants, but enough away to feel quiet and peaceful. The home was super clean! And was well equipped for cooking a meal. It was too cold to be outside but the patio was large with a nice bar for use in warmer months. Easy communication with owner. Would definitely recommend!
