Perfectly located adjacent to shops, restaurants, local historical attractions, a beautiful view and riverside park with a paved walking path. Easy drive to state parks, other river towns. The kitchen & living area were very welcoming - the sofa, very comfortable. The matresses and pillows were mediocre, although clean and sufficient. Some attention to repairs is needed, which I shared with the owner/manager. This rental would be best for those without young children or mobility issues (due to stairs to living space). There is a chair lift, however, it was not working while we stayed. Overall, adequate accommodations and a very enjoyable stay while visiting the area!

Great Stay in Guttenberg

This was an excellent place to stay, with a great host. Wonderful views of the Mississippi in a great little river town. Wish we'd been there outside of winter, but perhaps next time.

Great river view!

We were very pleased with our stay! Perfect location for what we wanted to do. We were able to walk to the Guttenberg Brewery and also the Dam Bar! The only drawback would be the bed was not very comfortable.

Enjoyed the quiet, historic river life getaway

My husband and I enjoyed learning about the historic town of Guttenburg and the quiet pace of life as the barges slipped by and through the locks. The riverwalk was inviting and the birds plenty. Great place for a get-away.

Nice, comfortable, clean.

After two day's in Galena, IL it was a nice place to relax and take in the nice scenery. Enjoyed the local site's too. Wish we could have stayed another day.

Guttenberg Getaway

Mr. Rogers River View was fantastic, everything was very clean and well stocked with all the items we needed. The balcony patio was fantastic, we sat out there in mornings to enjoy the views and then we ate our supper out there one evening while enjoying the beautiful weather! We would definitely recommend it to others and we will hopefully be back to stay!!

Problematic

This is a lovely, clean apartment with a nice view of the Mississippi. However, the description did not indicate that it was on the 2nd floor, and one of us has mobility issues. After completing the booking I saw there was a chair lift; but upon arriving we learned from the host the lift was not working. This was a significant problem. We were forced to leave after only 1 day of our planned 2 day visit, and the host did not offer a refund. We would not have booked here had the description been more accurate. This is a great place for fully functioning adults, but the open stairway is potentially dangerous for young children.

Great view

The place was clean and neat. It is in a great location. A couple thing would add to the comforts of the rental - hand soap in the bathroom, dish towels and maybe some salt and pepper in the kitchen? Other than that it was a comfy and quiet place to stay in a lovely little river town.

Beautiful river view

Nice place to stay right downtown with a view of the river. Beautifully decorated. Nice to have a full kitchen and living combo which is on the second level with one of the bedrooms. There is stairs to climb so just be aware. There is one bedroom though on the main level. Lovely place to stay!!

Beautiful view and location!

Jennifer was extremely quick to respond to all my questions about the area and home. We visited the Brewery and nearby winery. Joes pizza was packed so we took it to go, it’s about a block from the house. Took a nice walk along the river which is where he reason we chose this house. So nice to wake up Saturday morning to a small Farmers Market right outside the front door! Would definitely stay here again and more than 2 days! The area is really beautiful and nice to just go driving around.

Rest on the River!

We have been running crazy for 2 years straight and we were looking for a quiet place to rest....we found it! Working with Jennifer was incredible. She was so helpful and flexible as our kids got sick and we had to reschedule! We walked the river, watched eagles and herons, ate great local food, and finally rested. Relaxing area

Great place/area to unwind. The river walking trail is across the street and we used it daily, it’s about 2 miles 1 way. The small deck is great for sitting and watching the barges go by, people watching and taking in the sunshine! We could walk to most everything: restaurant/bar, brewery, coffee shop/cafe, shops and the lock and dam. Awesome burgers and nachos at the Dam Bar and grill. It’s like going down in a cave, but good food! The brewery is nice with outdoor seating and we talked a long time with the young owner Katherine. She has lots of information about the area and has a very nice place! Sodes Perk Central is a cafe, gift shop and more! Unique food and specials daily. If you do want to cook while you are there instead, there are pans etc, but no seasonings, condiments, paper products, mixing bowls, or toaster.
