Cute Family Cabin at Lakeview by Sue

The Family Cabin is one of 5 Cabins of Lakeview by Sue Barn Venue. With its own lake view porch too, it holds a max of 6 guests (note there is an extra charge for more than 4 guests). When not rented with a wedding/event, it is offered here for those looking for a serene, country stay. A great little get away in the country!

The queen bed has it own bedroom, the bunk beds have a bedroom, and the full size bed is in a ladder accessible loft. All the kitchen accessories, comfy bedding, plush towels, TVs, and Wifi are provided. Enjoy a pellet grill & firepit with fuel for both provided.

The little lake is steps from your front door where you can enjoy the view, a stroll, and a little fishing too. No Swimming allowed and boats with motors are not allowed on this lake. But bring your kayak if you'd like.

1.2 miles down a dirt road and 3 miles total from our small town, you'll find a great little grocery store and other cute shops. But often they close earlier than some expect. Come prepared with food if you are arriving late.

Best family getaway spot!

Anyone looking for the perfect fishing getaway, this is the place! Great clean cabin, well stocked lake and bonus restaurant on site makes this place the perfect family getaway spot. We try to stay here at least once a year. Our kids favorite destination.

Wonderful experience. The lake has Blue Herron, turtles, Geese and lots of fish jumping. Even in the rain it was fun. The air is clean. The restaurant was fabulous. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful Setting

Beautiful setting on Appleton City Lake. Cottages are right on the lake and it was fun to wake up to the mist rising from the lake, rooster crowing in the distance. Later enjoy sitting in the sunshine and watching the ducks and sparrows on the lake, also heard some cows mooing. Just enjoy the fresh country air! Rustic Duck restaurant was very accommodating too.

In 2020, we finished the Lakeview by Sue barn wedding venue and have added beautiful country cabins since. Having decorated weddings for years, it was my dream to have a big, beautiful barn venue next to this charming country lake. When the cabins are not reserved for wedding guests, we have them available here for the weary traveler looking for a quiet country escape.

Why they chose this property

Appleton City lake does not allow swimming nor does it allow boats with motors. There is public access on another part of the lake. We are 1.2 miles down a dirt road and about 3 total miles from the small town of Appleton City. We have a great little grocery store, a Caseys, Dollar General, beautiful coffee shop, restaurant, and more. But some folks can be surprised the stores close early. Please come prepared by picking up food or supplies along the way if planning to arrive late.
