This was a great house in a great location. We loved the fact that we had so many food options in one area. The neighborhood was very quiet. We'd definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved our stay here! This charming 1950s-era home has all the character and quirks you’d hope for in a vintage house, while still offering plenty of modern amenities and comforts. The decor was wonderfully eclectic - filled with books, paintings, and unique art pieces from all different eras - which made the space feel warm, creative, and inviting. The host was fantastic to work with and went above and beyond by providing excellent recommendations for local restaurants and breweries. The amenities were top-notch, and the thoughtful touches really stood out. Thank you for the bottled water and the delicious coffee! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the entire home felt spacious, cozy, and welcoming. We truly felt at home here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!
This house is so cute! The location is near many restaurants, grocery stores and the main square of the town. Overall great place to hang out with friends/family!
The property was very clean and felt like home as soon as we walked through the door. Neighborhood was mostly quiet and close to the highway so it made for easy access to the property and beyond. Highly recommend staying here
This cottage is just perfect! So clean, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located. It worked so well for the four of us. We definitely would stay here again and again!
Fantastic stay! The house felt cozy and safe. It was extraordinarily clean. We’ll certainly book again on our next trip. It’s also centrally located so you’re a short drive from a major grocery store and great shopping.
We loved this vintage 50's cottage home! The location was perfect, close to everything in WTX. Special touches w vintage charm, books, art & the keeping of many historical features. Absolutely gorgeous! The

Your host
I'm a former magazine editor who worked in New York for design publications such as Metropolitan Home and Martha Stewart Living. After being obsessed with home decor for years, I decided opening up a VRBO would be the perfect way to address my desire to decorate. It's been such a joy working on this sweet, cheerful house, and I can't wait to share it with my guests. I'm a native Texan and have lived in Waxahachie for over 10 years now. It is a truly special place with loads of amazing restaurants and shops. But truly, it's the people of Waxahachie that make it a real jewel.
Why they chose this property
Built in 1950, this house has amazing bones only found in older homes. Of all the things I love about it, one of my favorites is the four over four windows that allow for each room to be flooded with natural light at different times of the day. (There are shades and/or curtains in each bedroom in case you want to sleep in!) Each room features an eclectic mix of styles and furnishings from England, Italy, France, Africa and America.
Because it's Texas, keeping cool is essential during the summer months. The home has a brand new central air conditioning system. In addition, the living room and each bedroom have ceiling fans, so you'll always have a cool place to come home to when it's sizzling.
What makes this property unique
This house is within walking distance to Little Creek Trail and Chapman Park, a perfect bonus if you have children. In addition, I've designed a small kids' closet in the hallway, so be sure and open up all of the doors to see what's inside!
Another small hall closet has been converted into a makeshift makeup area with a mirror and shelving so everyone has room to get ready.
