2 of my close friend and I decided to get away for a short stay not too far from home. We had a great relaxing time. This place had everything we needed, short distance from everything. This place was clean and easy to find. The neighborhood felt safe. Even though the place below this apartment looks abandoned.
We had such an amazing experience with this property and the host. She was very responsive and was so accommodating to some extra requests I had. We would stay again for sure!
Everything was exactly as it said it was online. The space was clean and quiet. It’s decorated lovely and was great for a mini girls trip.
Only recommendation is to add another lock to the door that locks from the inside, it would make guests feel safer. Nothing happened but as two female guests it was concerning not have that in place.
The VRBO was in a very convenient location for my activities. It was clean, quiet, comfy, & had a well stocked kitchen with dishes, utensils, & pots & pans since I enjoy cooking my own meals.
We just needed one night to recover from our day at Indiana Dunes before we headed out of town. It was a great spot. The decor is so cute. Beds were comfortable. Everything worked just fine. We had a little trouble with the key code on the door when we checked in, but the host was VERY responsive and quick. Hardly a moment of delay accessing the property.
This was a quaint roomy place with good access to downtown. We enjoyed our stay. One issue that would not be the issue of the property owner was the map link on the VRBO's website does not take you to the listing.
Not sure if I’ll ever be back in Michigan City, IN, but if I am, I’ll absolutely be staying here again! Super cute unit, very comfortable and homey. A couple of local breweries and a cabinet full of board games kept us busy for our evening stay after a long day of driving!
Four of us from childhood get together every summer for a two night stay at a drivable location. This year we picked Michigan City and stayed at the Treehouse! We had a fun time. We needed two bedrooms and the living area was spacious. We had a fun time in Michigan City.
Renee was wonderful to work with, answered questions promptly, went out of her way to provided beach supplies for my kids. The house is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Five stars for us!
This was hands down the cutest place I have stayed at! The house was the perfect size for my friends and I. The host was great answering any questions I had last minute! Love that! I would recommend staying here for a nice little getaway downtown in Michigan City! :)
The treehouse was cute and bigger than expected. The location was convenient. We had take out from the Mexican restaurant across the street several times. Great homemade offerings. Short drive to the beach. We had a great stay. Other reviews mention they would like the window on the door covered and I agree. The commercial space below is currently unoccupied.

Ok. Needs improvement!
The property was ok. The house needs a LOT of work. Outside especially. Run down! Didn’t give us the best feeling pulling up!! The shower was a train wreck. Water everywhere due to poor functionality. Older kitchen. Decor was cute. Beds comfortable. Neighborhood a little sketchy. Close and convenient to beach though. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.
Our overall stay was great! We rented this home for our friends 30th birthday party. It was close to a few wineries and very close to the casino! The home had age but that wasn't off putting! It was a tad confusing on what door was THE ONE to get into the apartment. But we figured it out and didn't have to contact the owner. I would definitely recommend this to others!
Had a great stay. We were there as we got married 5/20/2023 and needed a place to stay for the night. Overall the stay was great! Only complaint would be how uncomfortable the beds were, but that can easily be changed. The place was beautiful and easy to access. My only recommendations would be adding comfier beds, as you pay a hefty price to stay here and comfort is key, especially if staying multiple nights. And adding some privacy to the main entry door as it was a little uncomfortable knowing someone could come up the stairs and look directly into the place. I loved the place other than that and would definitely stay here again!
The good: it’s spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. The decor was nicely done and felt cozy.
Neutral: the property is old and in need of maintenance. It’s very close to the railroad track and the whole house shakes when a train goes through.
The bad: The bathroom situation is awful. The shower is rigged up and secured with wooden post toppers. The frame rigged around the tub was bent and there was no way to fully close the curtain to shower without getting water all over the bathroom. Plus being tall people meant we were taller than the shower curtain. The property needs a lot of maintenance and the deck and stairs are not properly secured to the building, which didn’t feel safe.
Overall: it was a decent property but not worth the $300 a night I paid.
