About the host
Hosted by Charles & Katy Pendergraft
We love to entertain and we love our quiet time. Probably more than anything else, we really enjoy seeing our guests relax and enjoy themselves as they begin to unwind with quiet walks, watching wildlife, delicious meals and enjoying good wines. We searched for years to find just the right spot to create our getaway and have since spent nearly a decade since turning our 50+ acres of neglected land into our own little green sanctuary where we can enjoy these things with family and friends. We want you to experience it now as well! We have made our barn a warm and inviting place to spend a weekend reconnecting or just spending time together. Everything we have done from the barn and yard renovation to the design of our natural areas and the creation of our grassy pastures, we have done with the view that relationships are important and the farm should be enjoyed.
Why they chose this property
With all the noise that fills our daily lives, it is so nice to be able to turn off everything and enjoy the beauty of solitude, nature and conversation. In our cozy restored barn with 2 private bedrooms, a full kitchen with custom built dining/gathering table, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee maker, StarLink WiFi, a welcoming Hayloft with a large sectional sofa and a 75" streaming TV, the covered deck with cushioned loveseat and two chairs are perfect for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. The downstairs covered patio has two rockers, a full size sofa and a cushioned porch swing - our farm is perfect for relaxing! Bluetooth connected stereo plays your favorite music on the deck speakers while you relax and enjoy the views of the farm, the fire pit and the tire swing. Our large stone fire pit is perfect for evening gatherings and watching the sunset and the occasional deer family running through the pastures. If you want activities, enjoy tubing, kayaking or wading in the Yadkin River, hike Pilot Mountain, bike the quiet back roads of Yadkin County. If it's wine you want, our farm sits right in the middle of the Yadkin Valley AVA and the best vineyards in NC are all around us! Winston-Salem in less than 30 minutes away where you can enjoy all the cultural benefits of the NC School of the Arts, beautiful museums, phenomenal restaurants and great shopping - then head back to the farm and wind down with a quiet evening around the fire pit!
