About this property

Magical Woodland Retreat just 8 miles from Mount Rainier national Park!

Welcome to Paradise Park House!

At Paradise Park House, the main floor offers a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a separate full bathroom with a bathtub/shower. Feeling adventurous? Climb the ladder to the loft, where two cozy single beds await. A fun retreat for kids or those wanting to relive summer camp days. Stay warm with the electric wall heater or gather around the wood-burning stove for that classic cabin feel.
Fully-equipped kitchen* and plenty of seating for everyone!
(*dishwasher not included- so retro chic ☺️)

**Due to our rural location, we are not able to offer discounts or refunds due to power and/or WiFi outages. Although outages are rare, they can happen and are usually brief. The wood-burning stove/fireplace will provide heat inside the cabin; a flashlight and lantern are available for light & we encourage guests to cook on the bbq grill provided on the deck**

We offer complimentary Wifi and a starter bundle of firewood to make your stay as stress-free as possible! And the kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, cocoa, popcorn, olive oil, vegetable oil, salt and pepper, and individual packets of condiments, so you can worry about the big stuff - like did you bring your hiking boots!

This cabin is one of two that we host; both situated at the end of a small community of cabins (5 cabins including these two). The community is surrounded by 1,000+ acres of Elbe Hills State Forest for your exploration and total serenity. There is a State Road that you can walk (or four-wheel) about a mile long and it will take you all the way to a "beach" on the Nisqually River. The other direction takes you towards Ashford, but is a bit more overgrown and longer.

On the property, both cabins share the "meadow space" and tree-fort with the slide. Apart from that, each cabin faces a different direction and offer plenty of privacy even though they are within about 30 yards of each other. It's the best of both worlds whether you rent just one of the cabins and want some privacy, or if you want to rent out both cabins for a larger get together and have separate spaces.

Both cabins have waterfront about half of the year when the Sahara Creek runs (November to June). The rest of the year, the creek bed is dry and surrounded by greenery & wildflowers 🌿✅We offer same-day bookings!
✅We are happy to accommodate early check-ins and late check-outs if we have the capacity, so please just reach out for details!

👣NEW! Ask how to Book a BIGFOOT ADVENTURE TOUR and receive 10% OFF** (Tours are seasonal and run April-September)

🦌The local deer population frequently walk through the front and back yards of the home. While enjoying the magic of their presence, we ask that you please maintain a respectful distance from them and thank you for your cooperation in keeping the wildlife safe and wild.
✨This listing has been a favorite of Ashford guests for several years! We welcome you to experience the difference!

We took a family vacation to explore Mt Rainier, and the cabin was a great part of our experience. We loved all the thought that obviously went into making this place feel cozy and welcoming. We enjoyed being in the woods and the walk to the river. We definitely want to visit again!

Short but sweet!

Adorable cabin in ideal location for exploring Mt Rainier National Park. Wish we'd been able to stay longer to take advantage of all the cute details like lots of great movies on VHS and board games.

Perfect Getaway

Our family had a fantastic time! The house was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Its location made it easy to access Mt. Rainier and enjoy some beautiful hikes. After our adventures, we loved unwinding back at the house with games, movies, and evenings by the fire pit roasting s’mores.Everyone had a wonderful experience, and we would absolutely book again for our next quiet, relaxing mountain getaway

Sweet tiny cabin

Cute little cabin nestled in the woods. Enjoyed going into the park each day. Last day a family with children moved into the companion cabin. Was fun to see them explore the area. Great place for kids!

Best location in Mt Rainier

It was an amazing place to stay! They had everything we needed. And as we were not very familiar with the area, the owners were very helpful with the driving instructions and advise on the road and weather information for safety. We will definitely be back! Thank you Ashley 👍

Amazing cabin retreat

Wonderful cabin close to the Paradise entrance to Mount Rainier. Perfect spot for our family of four. The kids loved the loft space. Super cute decor and amenities. We enjoyed movies on the VCR and a wide variety of board games. Fire pit and outdoor games were a hit. Highly recommend!

Cozy but keep an eye on pricing deals

We enjoyed getting away for a few days! The cabin is cozy. My kids love places with lofts. Be aware, the firewood provided is apparently a “starter” pack and if you like to have it going throughout your stay you’ll have to pay for more. They do make it convenient to buy wood from the shed on site though. I recommend this place for a nice winter get away!

Mt Rainier Visit

We loved our stay and the hosts are great. Our messages before check in and during our stay were replied to promptly and our questions answered thoroughly. The cabin had everything we needed plus videos and dozens of games for children. Ashford, being such a small community, has limited grocery and dining choices but they're 5 minutes from the cabin. There are several other dining options within a 20 minute drive. It's a perfect location for excursions into the Longmire and Paradise areas of Mt Rainier NP.

This was a cozy stay just minutes away from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier. We stayed here on a drizzly weekend and hiked waterfalls while snow was falling at higher elevations. Then waited for the road to Paradise to be opened after plowing, and we were one of the first vehicles up there. Beautiful winter wonderland. This cabin is right off the main road, however feels secluded in the woods. We couldn’t stop admiring the retro decor. These were items I grew up with (cassette tapes, VHS, etc). Visited the Ukrainian restaurant for breakfast and Copper Creek Inn for dinner; both right down the road. Also Mill Haus Cider in nearby Eatonville; they were having an Oktoberfest event. We really enjoyed our stay at Ashley’s; host was communicative from booking all the way through checkout. It was quite cold out, so the cabin took about an hour to heat up upon returning, with both of the portable heaters and the wood burning stove. We enjoyed the rustic feel and you can tell the hosts pour a lot of love into the home.

My partner and I spent a couple of nights here while visiting Mt. Rainier National Park and had a wonderful experience. The cabin is very cute and charming, complete with rustic decor, a functional, efficiency-sized kitchen, an extensive VHS movie library, board games, books, and a surprisingly comfortable bed. It is the perfect size for a couple, and even features a loft with space for a child or two if they're tagging along during your stay! The location is convenient to the town of Ashford, with several small restaurants and other services only a 5 minute drive to the east. You are 30 seconds from a main road - but you'd have no idea with how quiet and serene the landscape is around the cabin.Ashley is an excellent host and you can tell the time and effort put into making her retreats comfortable, cozy, and beautiful. Even the outside area around the cabin has amenities, such as a fire pit (weather/regulations permitting), kids play area, and cornhole boards!Overall, I certainly recommend staying at this property for any couple or small family who want a quiet, peaceful location and plan on visiting Mount Rainier!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! It was perfectly situated in the woods – it felt private but was close to everything we needed (including the mountain!). We loved all the little cozy details and the collection of tapes and movies. We also liked that there was easy access to nature, and we were able to have a nice walk in the woods close to the cabin. We hope to come back again :)

Paradise Cabin by Mt Rainier

What a great little cabin! An easy drive into Mt. Rainier National park, perfectly situated in a quiet little meadow away from the busy park traffic. The house had everything we needed for our family of four to cook dinner and have coffee on the porch. Ashley was a great host and communication was easy! We will definitely be back!

Mt. Rainier visit

This property was perfect for our family of three. The setting is beautiful and as children of the 80s, my husband and I loved the nostalgic touches. After a day of hiking in the park, we enjoyed introducing our daughter to the foreign concepts of "The Goonies," VHS, and cassette tapes.

Cozy Retreat Close a Short Drive from Mt. Rainier

Our whole family loved this house. It was very cozy, but we had just the right amount of space to do everything we needed. Our teen boys enjoyed chilling in the loft beds, as well as running around outside. It is a not a far drive to Mt. Rainier from here.Recommend picking up groceries before you get there as nearby options are limited; we got ours at the Fred Meyers in Puyallup.

This cabin is so stink'in cute! I wish we could have stayed for our whole visit but we are older and wooden furniture and wooden chairs don't work for us anymore. The cabin was super cute and super clean! Would be perfect for a younger family. Lots of toys for little ones. And the kids would love the loft upstairs.Tons of old VCR movies (We watched Donte's Peak). The bed fits perfectly in a nook. You have to climb over somebody to get out. And back in.

About the host

Hosted by Ashley Sprecher

Host profile image
Our small family began The Happy Hotelier because we love staying at unique vacation properties for ourselves. Personally having been in property management for the past 10+ years, it just made sense for us to make the transition to becoming hosts ourselves.

Why they chose this property

We love this property which hosts two cabins, each sleeping 4, because it offers a chance to stay in one or both cabins. They are situated in a way that both cabins feel very private, but are close enough to enjoy the meadow, creek, and local activities together.

What makes this property unique

Having both cabins and the meadow there, we allow events on site. Our properties are two of five cabins in our small neighborhood which is surrounded by 1000+ acres of State Forest for your exploration. There is a great sense of seclusion and peace when you visit here. The trickling of the seasonal creek and the sound of the rain on the metal roof is comforting even when the weather is blustery.
