Good location. Enjoyable walk to beach including historical lava field and fish ponds. Unit and kitchen well stocked with appliances, utensils and beach chairs, umbrellas, and sand toys. Good security and safe. Pool and hot tub very nice, just people very concerned about noisy toddlers (maybe it was dad).

We're glad you enjoyed your stay at the Mauna Lani Palm Villas. You're welcome back anytime!
We enjoyed our stay and the unit was furnished very nicely. Great location. Only negative is having a 1st floor unit and then you hear group walking around above you more than you want (5:30am-11pm). Would rent in same location again but would want a 2nd floor unit.
Stayed here with family & friends for Honu 70.3. Great space and equipped kitchen for cooking. Pool rules are real and a resident did not appreciate our 6yr olds playing.

Aloha Angela,
We're glad that you enjoyed our home. We most certainly welcome families and children and I'm sorry that you did not have a positive experience with one of the site managers at the pool. We have spoken with them and we do not expect this to be an issue in the future. Warmly, Noah & Smadar
Unit was very clean and cozy. Pool was right across the street, this neighborhood is fantastic. Access to the private beach was the highlight. Good communication with owner. Mahalo.
Not having rented through vrbo prior to this trip the process confused me a bit, but now having done it, the next time will be easy. It was a positive experience and will be doing again Im sure.

The "extra" for me was the access to the private beach parking area. While no beaches in Hawaii are private, getting to some of them requires a long walk from public parking. This is a very close parking area to a lovely beach.
This is a perfect location. Quiet, corner unit, and within walking distance to the Mauna Lani Private Beach Club.
The waterfall pool is great, very family friendly.
Noah was an amazing host. Very responsive and had provided everything we needed in the unit. It felt like our home away from home.
We will definitely come back and stay again!

Aloha Eugene,
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Mauna Lani Palm Villas. We try to provide everything you and your family need to make it feel like home. We hope that you will come back and stay with us again. You are welcome anytime!
Our family of four had a fantastic time on our vacation and loved our Palm Villas stay over Christmas. The condo is equipped with everything you need and has a great layout for families. The location is ideal - a lovely walk to the Beach Club and the Auberge Mauna Lani where we snorkeled and saw tons of fish and turtles. Just two minutes drive to the supermarket and shops as well. Noah is a terrific host and we appreciated his helpful tips and great communication. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

Aloha Sara,
We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay at the Palm Villas. We love sharing our home away from home. You are welcome back anytime! A hui hou!!!
Our three generation family stayed and had a memory making trip. The house is in excellent condition and was well equipped with kid friendly amenities (high chair, pack n play, toys, books, beach toys). The location is convenient to beaches, shopping, restaurants, grocery store, and great walking opportunities. We loved the volcano tube walk, fish ponds and the secret pond. Noah was very responsive and accommodating. No complaints and highly recommended!

Aloha Chris,
We're so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at the Mauna Lani Palm Villas. We like to provide amenities for all ages. Yes, the walk to the Beach Club via the historic lava field and fish ponds is one of our favorite family traditions too. We hope you'll come back and stay with us again. A hui hou!
We had a great experience staying in Palm Villas D-2. It is an ideal location, a 15 minute walk through lava tubes and traditional Hawai’ian fish ponds to the beach. This condo comes with access to the wonderful Mauna Lani Beach Club. The pool and hot tub are lovely and tasteful. This place is quiet and chill and perfectly comfortable.
The condo was well-stocked and even had All-Clad pots and pans. There were two boxes full of toys, two scooters, plenty of beach toys, floats, noodles, umbrellas and chairs. Our only complaint was with the kitchen sink. It sprays oddly and gets you wet while you do dishes. But everything else was perfect.
My husband had trouble getting in touch with the property manager to ask questions prior to check-in. We wanted to ask about beach and snorkel equipment and guest parking. Once we checked in, responsiveness was great and we got all our questions answered.
The condo was terrific and we would be grateful to stay here again! Mahalo!
We stayed here with 4 adults and 2 ten year olds. Worked out great, there was enough space for the 6 of us.
Location: Was nice to have grass outside the patio and the 10-15 min walk to the beach club wasn’t bad. If we had a days worth of beach stuff, we drove and parked in the lot (nice to have that access). There wasn’t anyone staying next door or above us, but if there had been….you would definitely hear the neighbors when on the patio. So just be aware of that if you are looking for major privacy- you won’t have it.
Condo: clean and fully stocked. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beach towels were great and the garage had all the beach toys, chairs, coolers we needed. One note- bring your own body soap, only a tiny bar provided and it’s not that great.
Area: the common pool was really nice, we all enjoyed the hot tub as well. You can walk to the beach club through a lava field path (10-15 min) or can walk to the shopping center in the other direction. Very convenient!
Only a 10 minute drive to the best beach on the island (Hapuna Beach) - we went there often (you have to pay so just a heads up). Never did go to the black sand beach near by as they wanted us to pay $25 per car! I ended up walking there and it’s not that great- don’t wast your money.
Communication was great with the owner, I’d recommend staying at this condo to friends.

Aloha, we’re really glad that you enjoyed staying with us! We’re especially pleased that you found our condo to be spacious, well-stocked, and in a convenient location. We enjoy communicating with our guests to make sure they have an amazing stay! Regarding sound, our corner unit was actually built with extra special soundproofing in the walls and ceiling, so there’s no noise from surrounding condos. And our HOA has rules about outside noise on lanais to protect our peaceful slice of paradise. We provide two sets of toiletries per bathroom, as is standard for most luxury rentals on the island, but we understand some guests will always prefer to bring their own. We’re so glad you loved our lava pool and hot tub and we hope you’ll stay with us again next time you’re on the big island!
Great location, comfortable condo, would stay again
We really liked this little condo. It’s in a great location to walk through the lava fields and fish ponds to get to the coastal path and the beach. Clean, comfortable, cozy. We only stayed two nights, but would rent again on our next trip to Hawaii. Only mistake was they forgot to give us the code to the complex’s gate. Luckily the manager was leaving when we were trying to enter and was able to give us the code in person.

Aloha Nicola,
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Mauna Lani Palm Villas. We love our home away from home so close to the historic lava fields and fish ponds. We hope you will come back again for a longer stay. Warmly, Noah & Smadar
Perfect quiet location within walking distance to beach
The condominium was exactly as described. The kitchen is the best-stocked one we have experienced in our travels. The ice maker worked great and made
plenty of ice. The AC and WiFi worked well. There are ceiling fans in every room and plenty of storage for clothing. The beds were very comfortable. The lanai is small but has a BBQ, which we used a couple of times. We enjoyed eating on the lanai. The garage was a nice bonus and the beach chairs, umbrella, and boogie boards were nice to have. There are also two scooters, two coolers, and some toys, which we did not use.
The private beach club area is small but very nice with a restaurant and great snorkeling. The rental hut for activities gear is not open every day in case you wanted to rent paddle boards, etc. the beach at the Mauna Lani Auberge Resort is a 15 minute walk (walk out the historic trail and go right along the shore). It has okay snorkeling, a calm bay, and food and gear rental daily. We went there twice.
We did not use the pool but used the hot tub one night and it was nice - we had it all to ourselves.
We would definitely stay here again for a quiet relaxing vacation!

Great stay
Comfortable, plenty of space for 4 adults and 3 kids. A normal-sized garbage can is the 9nly thing I'd like added. Everything else was great!
Property was true to online description. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to beaches via adjacent historical park access. Pool was beautiful. Beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, masks/snorkels, Razor scooters) much appreciated!
We would have loved a map of the development, indicated beach access and location of pool. Never really figured out what to do with the Beach Club Access Card and nothing in home to explain its use. Would have also loved a list of local favorites: restaurants, groceries, beaches, sunset spots, etc.
First time staying in this area. Condo, pool, beach, grocery store all in close proximity. We enjoyed our walk to the beach. We planned on grilling but unfortunately that was not available for use during our stay. Overall we enjoyed our time to just relax!

Fun, clean and comfortable
The privacy, not crowded, clean, spacious (3 bedroom), surrounding attractions and it being a small lush complex.
Everything was really nice , so easy to walk to the beaches close by, only problem we had as the parking issue. Only one car goes in garage and one extra pass for another car , we had four vehicles so I suggest don’t bring more than two vehicles.

Great condo & location!
We loved the atmosphere here with 44 low rise condos in a tropical gated community. We loved that it was just a 10 minute beautiful walk to the beach. We were unhappy that the housekeeper did not have a condo ready at check-in time and we were also disappointed that a gift basket that had been left on the front porch from one of our relatives who lives on island, was not there upon our arrival. She said she left it on the bench on the front porch at about 2 PM. It was not there at 4 PM.....Sad...that. I complained to management about this...I did not find about the missing gift basket until mid-week of our week long stay. Management delivered a replacement gift basket with lots of perishable fruit the day before we left.

About the host
Hosted by Noah
I grew up in New York, but have lived in California for most of my life. I will always consider myself a New Yorker. I was a school teacher and principal and now I have a small educational consulting company providing professional development to teachers, parents and school administrators. I am married and we have two great and funny kids. We are very active with sailing, camping, biking, snorkeling, and enjoying the outdoors every chance we get.
Why they chose this property
We chose the Palm Villas for its proximity to the Beach Club. The water is calm and safe for children and the snorkeling is some of the best on any of the islands, other than on the rare stormy day.
The Palm Villas is a private gated community of only 44 units, as compared to larger complexes on the resort and in the area with hundreds of units. We love the lava rock and waterfall surrounding the swimming pool. Although we don’t travel during peak holiday season, we’ve never seen it full and often have it all to ourselves. The favorite feature of our unit in the Palm Villas is the view from our lanai.
What makes this property unique
Our unit, D-2 is tucked away in the far corner of the Palm Villas, away from the pool and any traffic noise. When D-2 was built, the owners added extra sound proofing insulation to ensure that any upstairs or neighbor noise could not be heard in our unit. The only thing we can hear is the crashing of the waves.
