About this property

Family friendly home off bike trail and quiet subdivision with lots of updates!

The home is near popular west-side shopping/restaurants, IL State Fair Grounds, Knights Action Water park, and easy highway access. The house was completely remodeled in 2019 with lots of updates and modern touches! We especially love the brand-new kitchen, bike trail access from the yard, and quiet neighborhood. This was our family home, and we are excited to share it with you.

Welcome to Robinhood's Retreat in the popular Sherwood Subdivision on the west side of Springfield.

The living room includes two couches and a lazy boy recliner. The three bedrooms upstairs all have queen beds with closet space for storage. Two of the bedrooms have full size dressers. In the finished basement you'll find the spacious 4th bedroom with a full-size dresser. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, spices, olive oil, and a wide selection of teas. We’ve included fresh coffee and a coffee maker. You'll enjoy the extra deep sink with cutting board/drying rack and separate hot waterspout. In the backyard, you’ll find a relaxing patio with a dining table and gas grill. Direct and private access to the bike trail too!

The light gray and modern kitchen includes brand new Allen + Roth cabinetry, quartz countertops, lots of natural light, extra deep sink with hot water on demand, full-size appliances, and an eat-in dining table with seating for 6.

A coffee pot is provided for you to use along with fresh coffee provided.

The living room features a full-size couch, love seat and recliner chair, smart TV, charging station, and all-natural sunlight streaming through the front bay window. It's beautiful in the morning!

We have a strict policy of no pets, no parties, and no smoking of any kind. We have a 10-guest limit policy. Please note we do not currently allow hosting for non-registered guests. This includes family gatherings, reunions, dinner parties, etc. This is in a residential area, so we ask that you respect the neighbors' privacy in regards to these policies and noise and parking. Please drive slowly and do not block the neighbors' driveway.

If you break or damage something inside the home, you will be responsible for MISSING or DAMAGED item(s) at the replacement cost of the item(s). *Please reach out immediately if anything is broken or damaged* Transparency and communication are key in situations like this.

Excellent home away from home

We were in Springfield with family for my mother-in-law's memorial service. This home was perfect for our family...my husband and I, our son and his daughter, and our daughter & her family. It was clean and comfortable! It allowed us to be together and catch up with each other. The neighborhood is very walkable, which was nice. The kids enjoyed the basement play area. We appreciated the extra bathroom downstairs! We made popcorn one night (there was a popcorn maker for the microwave). We didn't do much cooking, but ordered pizzas from a nearby Papa Murphy's and baked them at the house. Every thing we needed was there. The home is thoughtfully decorated and equipped. It has a very peaceful atmosphere, which we appreciated. If I could suggest anything to our lovely hosts, it would be to add more coffee mugs, a set of measuring cups, and a dish rag or sponge for handwashing items at the sink. But, really, the home is great, and exceptionally clean and well taken care of! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I can recommend this home & the hosts in every way!

Long family weekend

My husband, our 5 girls, my parents and I all stayed at the property. We enjoyed the stay with being centrally located to many things as well as the girls having toys in the basement to play with. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out or be all together.

We were in town for a tumbling and trampoline competition. We enjoyed the house and the kids enjoyed all the toys and the ping pong table. House was very clean and tidy and plenty of space for the 7 people we had.

This was our first Vrbo and it was beautiful!! Very up to date, clean and comfortable.

Our family of 6 stayed 3 days. Very close to a variety of things to do and restaurants. It was very nice to have a back yard and table to sit at. The accommodations for a large group was prefect. Only suggestion is adding a half bathroom downstairs.

Clean Comfortable house

The property was clean and just as advertised. The additional 4th bedroom downstairs worked well for our group. Made use of the grill and outside table. Found Angela responsive and nice to work with. Angela is newer to VRBO so had to work through a couple issues and found security deposit higher than past rentals. This is an inviting house that we would rent again.

2 month stay for medical work

I stayed at the Archer house for nearly all of dec and jan in 22/23. It was the perfect spot for me or any small family, and a perfect choice for prolonged stays if you're in town for traveling nursing or other medical position. Super quick drive to the hospitals, but a great little neighborhood with access to all of the restaurants, shops, etc. The house is really nicely appointed, clean, functional, and quiet. Absolutely no complaints at all during my two months. Owners were very quick to reply to any questions and were so accomodating to my needs. If I'm ever headed back to town a 100% chance I stay here. thanks!

Why they chose this property

This home was completely remodeled in 2019 as our primary home. This isn't a normal rental property, and you'll notice a lot of upgrades! We love the hardwood floors, the kitchen and bath upgrades, and the neighborhood is one of the best in Springfield. You'll feel like you are in a small-town subdivision with friendly neighbors, quiet bike paths, and slower traffic yet you are located in the heart of the bustling city. It's pretty neat!
