We were very comfortable and were able to really spread out in the space. Drew was very communicative and supportive of our needs. The location is very central and easy to access off 95.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
We did not have a great stay mostly because I felt the description of the listing was inaccurate. I was not prepared for how poorly maintained the house is or the location right next to i95. Poor value as stay was .Pros: 1) Convenient to the Fairfield Country Hunt Club - 8 min 2) Host was communicative3) More or less clean (see cons below)Cons: 1) House is very old with ceiling paint peeling from prior leaks. I would be concerned about small children ingesting paint chips and lead. (I am a pediatrician but luckily was traveling with teens.)2) House is right next to i95 (pics with semi trucks below). The host provided white noise machines in each bedroom and I travel with my own earbuds so sleeping was OK - however one would not want to spend time outside this house as the roar of the semi trucks is deafening and shakes the house. I wish this had been included in the reviews of prior guests or in the description. 3) Beds were uncomfortable - one of us slept on couch 4) One mattress was blood-stained 5) Bottom drawer of a dresser had a balled up white flat sheet with fresh blood on it.6) bathrooms old and small

Response from VrboOwner on 1 Sept 2025
Just to start, I think it’s important to point out the type of guest we were dealing with here. This person reported me to VRBO for not providing bath towels — when in reality, there is a closet full of towels directly next to the bathroom. I had even sent her a message before check-in explaining where essentials were located. She never opened the closet or read the message, and yet filed a complaint. That should tell you a lot about the way the rest of this review was written.
Next, I need to address the claim about a “blood-stained mattress.” Yes the mattress is stained but for clarity, here is the actual setup of that very mattress: first the mattress, then a foam topper, then a mattress protector, then a fitted sheet, and finally a flat sheet. Guests are sleeping on clean, freshly made sheets — not directly on a bare mattress. So for this guest to post a picture of the mattress itself, as if people are lying straight on it, is misleading. And to suggest that the mark she saw was “blood” is completely ridiculous. It’s simply not true, and it’s not what anyone would ever be sleeping on.
As for the so-called “blood-stained sheet,” again, it was not blood. It looks very much like juice or some other drink had been spilled on it. What most likely happened is that a prior guest stuck that sheet in a drawer instead of putting it in the laundry, and unfortunately the cleaners missed it during the turnover. That’s on us, and I’ve already addressed it with the cleaning team so it won’t be overlooked again. But to frame this as if guests were being asked to use bloody linens is completely false.
Regarding the location, yes — the house is close to I-95. That’s something we’ve always been upfront about, and an overwhelming majority of our guests have absolutely no issue with it. In fact, many find the location convenient. That said, if you are extremely sensitive to noise, this may not be the right property for you. As for the claim that “the roar of semi trucks shakes the house,” that’s simply ridiculous.
We have completed over 300 stays so far with more than 150 reviews across platforms, and not a single guest has ever raised the kinds of issues described here. This review in no way reflects the experience you will have staying at this property.
