About this property

'Knotty Pine' Cabin w/ Private Hot Tub

Enjoy the Land of Enchantment in its true form at this beautiful family cabin in Alto. No matter the season, you'll have plenty to do when this 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation rental is your home base. In the winter, Ski Apache is just 14 miles away so you can catch the first chair in the morning and look forward to après-ski around the fire pit or in the hot tub back at the cabin. In warmer weather, explore stunning New Mexico scenery at nearby lakes or on local hiking trails.

The Knotty Pine Cabin has two living areas with
fireplaces. In the downstairs living area, there are two couches, and one couch pulls out to a queen-size bed. Just behind the downstairs living room is the kitchen that is fully equipped with whatever you may need. Even if you dine out in the numerous nearby restaurants, you're sure to appreciate having these items: crockpot, toaster, 8-cup coffee pot, hand-held mixer, waffle maker, blender, and even a single-serve Keurig for that all-important wake-me-up cup.

The first two bedrooms are located downstairs. Each bedroom has a queen bed and a vanity spot. Both bedrooms have generous storage and ceiling fans. Both bedrooms also have windows that allow you to wake up to the sight of the great Ponderosa pines. These bedrooms share the main floor's bathroom, which includes a combination of tub/shower.

The master bedroom is located upstairs. Beneath the wood-planked cathedral ceiling sits one king bed and one single bed; this room also comes with a vanity. There is a mounted baby changing station as well as a pack and play as well. This bedroom also includes its own master bathroom.

Also on the upper level is the fourth bedroom/game room. This enormous space includes a fireplace, leather sofas, and a pool table. Located in this room is one single bed and one queen bed as well.

You won't want to spend all your time indoors
though. Located on the deck, the hot tub is for sure
to be a favorite gathering spot after a day of hiking,
mountain biking, or horseback riding. The fragrance
of the surrounding pine trees makes a rejuvenating
soak even more magical, and you might even spot
some wildlife while you soak. On this deck, there is
also a fire pit as well. On the main deck, located at
the front of the house, has multiple seating, a grill,
and a great spot to watch the stars. Wild horses and
deer roam around the cabin frequently and are sure
to be seen before you leave Alto. If you reel in any fish from nearby (Alto Lake is stocked regularly with
trout) you can cook it up on the gas grill located on
the front deck. This deck also wraps around most of
the house which makes for great seating so you can
savor your morning coffee while listening to some
hummingbirds greet the day or even have a drink
beneath an abundant amount of stars.

Though the Knotty Pine Cabin feels blissfully
secluded, it's quite close to a major highway, which
makes it easy for you to drive to many of the local
attractions. These include Alto Lake and Recreation
Area, Ski Apache, the Hubbard Museum of the
American West, Ruidoso Downs horse track, Billy the Kid and Inn of the Mountain Gods casinos, the artisan shops, and the art of downtown Ruidoso.

The Knotty Pine Cabin can be a romantic getaway or
the perfect place for a family vacation. The diversity
of this cabin is what makes it so special. The Knotty
Pine Cabin is the best of all worlds: surrounded by
nature's greatness, peaceful, and private, yet close
enough to enjoy all that Alto and Ruidoso has to offer.

Don't miss out; book your stay today!

Please note: there is a ring doorbell located on the front of the house, our check-in and check-out times are very tedious as we have back to back bookings, however, early check-in and late check-out times may be available. If you’re visiting in winter, a vehicle with four-wheel drive or tire chains is strongly advised. Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter; this can affect driving and parking conditions, regardless of the property, driveway, or roads.

All bedding, linens, towels, and other basic needs like salt, pepper and oil is provided.

Best Cabin we've ever booked!
This place did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for our group. The amenities exceeded our expectations. We had deer across the street and several in the backyard. The host was awesome and responded to questions immediately. We've traveled and have experienced many vacation homes and this cabin is our favorite so far. We look forward to booking again in the future.

Relaxing Stay
We loved the place. It was very cozy & clean. The hot tub was clean and a huge hit with all. Location was not as close to town as I had anticipated, but very close to the Ski Apache turn off. Overall a great stay and would recommend to a large family or group.

The house was better than expected. It was cozy and perfect for our family.
The house was super cozy! The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed plus things like a waffle maker. The location was awesome too. It was easy to get to and close to sledding and the mountain. Also, we saw tons of wildlife during our stay. I would highly recommend and and stay here again in the future.
