Starry Creek Ranch was just perfect for a long holiday weekend with family. The house is newer, spacious, comfortable and a perfect layout for multiple families or groups staying together (two master suites, kids bedrooms, multiple bathrooms). The house itself far exceeded our expectations. The pool was a hit with the kids and provided relaxation for everyone. The views are spectacular and sunset is beautiful. The stars at night are also stunning. My husband enjoyed fishing in the pond every morning and evening. We also loved the adventurous hike to find the Indian cavern — one of the highlights of our stay! This property is unique and the host has thought of every detail to make the stay comfortable and memorable— we will be back!

The Most Wonderful Place!

Starry Creek Ranch was the perfect spot for our multi-generational family. We had ages 4 to 71 and the single story home was just what we needed. We swam and cooked and played games and explored the property - it was the best!

Perfect Getaway

Annual family getaway

This place is amazing. The pictures absolutely do not do it justice. The hosts have thought of everything, and were very quickly available via text message if needed. We always enjoy our summer family getaway, but this year was special. Everyone loved it here. We will be back!

Amazing!!

The house, the views, and the hospitality were beyond our expectations. Every restroom was fully stocked with tons of spare towels, shampoo/conditioner, and even provided pool towels. Every room had their own theme and was spot on! We brought my in laws out to relax, disconnect, and take in some awesome views… and this stay did just that! We can’t thank The Hughes Family enough for opening up their beautiful home for others to share!!

Beautiful space

We stayed here for a family get together and had a wonderful time. The house is very well appointed, with lots of wonderful touches (labels in the kitchens, tons of indoor and outdoor games, rollaway beds, etc.). We had enough space for our group (6 adults, 5 kids). The backyard is beautiful with a great view of nature and a very comfortable bench swing to watch the sunset. There were tons of stars to view once the sun went down as well. The kiddos enjoyed swimming, feeding the fish, exploring nature, playing games, and dancing along with the Jukebox music. It is a great location and a beautiful and comfortable home!

This is Will and Nancy Hughes, owners of Starry Creek Ranch. We are both from military backgrounds but have spent the majority of our married life in Texas raising our children who are now adults. We have a history of traveling to unique places and enjoy adventures that take us off the beaten path. Our most recent venture included buying a hill country ranch on the spur of the moment during Snowmaggedon (nickname for the snow storm that hit Texas in 2021). While many were hunkered down for a long winter's nap, we were out finding the ranch of our dreams. And now, it is our pleasure to share this amazing discovery with you.

We think big and we aim to please. If it's privacy you want, you got it. If you're craving an excursion, we'll help you create it. Don't be surprised to discover we are a good 30 minutes from most restaurants and stores, but that is the beauty of our unique location. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen awaits you as well as a host of amenities that will add to the comfort of your stay. And even though we are a bit remote, we are close enough to civilization to plan some wonderful day outings.

Take a one hour scenic drive to Waco to visit Magnolia Market (and see the Gaines farmhouse on the way). Or explore one of many artisan towns that are within 30 minutes of the ranch. With a little planning, big city adventures are also within your reach, with Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin just over two hours away.
