About this property

Comfortable Newly Renovated Home in the Heart of Town!

Our home is a very comfortable spacious family friendly house located less than a 3 minute walk to the heart of Main Street in Lake Placid (Starbucks, Steak and Seafood, Movie Theater). The home is ideally suited for 2-3 families with children to experience a wonderful vacation. It is very kid friendly and designed to let you kick your shoes off and relax. The Master bedroom has a King Bed and a 6 foot picture window with mountain views.

There is a second Queen bedroom and a large bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds and a full daybed. There is a 55" television in bunk room and xbox one. The master bedroom and bunk room are upstairs with a full bath and 1 bedroom with queen bed is on the main floor with a guest bathroom with a 48' shower. One set of the bunks is a full size on the bottom and a twin up top and the other set is 2 twin beds. There are video games in the bunk room as well as cable (XBOX one and Wii). The fourth bedroom is a private ground level suite with a second living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. All bedrooms have a television and cable (master has a 42"). The bunk room is a very large and gives the kids somewhere to hang out and play games.

The main floor of the house and fourth bedroom suite were completely renovated in 2009 including the comfortable sun room, living room, dining room, kitchen, guest room, main floor bathroom. The downstairs suite is private and very comfortable. The entire second floor was renovated in June 2016 (Master bedroom, bathroom and bunk room).

There is walk out access to the deck with views of the Mountains and Mirror Lake. Their is a 55' HDTV in the living room with surround sound and full cable. Their is plenty of natural light and all the ceilings have been done in Pine and high hats for a very Adirondack feel. There is a comfy couch in the sunroom and an additional tree stump pub table for 4. There is also a full pub style dining room table which is also ideal for playing games (including POKER and we keep a full set of poker chips in the house). The living room also has a couch, chair and ottoman. Overall it is a very open floor plan with room to spread out. We converted the large granite fireplace to gas to allow that comfortable feeling of a warm fire with push button convenience.

The kitchen has brand new appliances and granite counter tops. The Kitchen is fully equipped to cook meals and has open space between dining room and kitchen.

We had a great trip to lake placid. This house is perfect for walking to downtown or the ice rinks. There are plenty of comfortable beds. Great for two families.

Top shelf accommodations!

Wonderful house with many amenities. First time we've ever stayed at a rental with a full set of measuring cups, spoons and an array of actually sharp kitchen knives. Very tastefully decorated and charming. Plenty of room for our group of 8 to spread out. Our teens loved that it is a very easy walk to town, restaurants, Starbucks, ice skating etc. Would stay again.

Great location! So close to town. Big home- plenty of space for two families. No major issues- just that the Wii and other games didn’t seem to actually work. Also, the basement apartment is totally separate with no entrance from the main house. And the bunk beds are twin over twin- no full. Would have been helpful to know ahead of time for our sleeping arrangements. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Didn’t realize there were only three parking spaces until we received the info sheet from the host a couple days before our stay. Very minor complaint: would have been nice to have plastic wrap and aluminum foil provided. All in all great location and comfy lodgings.

Comfortable & Close To Downtown

Comfortable. Family friendly. Close to everything – a short walk to downtown coffee shops, restaurants, shopping & Ice Cream! Parking for 4 cars was not a problem. Well stocked kitchen & nice back deck. The owner, Chris, is extremely honest and helpful. He took the time to locate and ensure that we were able to get back items that were accidentally left behind after we departed.

Good location, dated property

Good location, owner is very forthcoming and helpful, property is a bit dated though, not much has been invested over the last decade or so: porch, furniture, quality of beds, mattresses, consoles, bathrooms, dishwashers etc. are all heavily used and in need of an overhaul for the price category (at least for the IM weekend). We had some mice incidents which seem to have been an exception. Internet & Samsung TVs are a highlight, availability of towels as well.

Good house. Great location.

This house could not have been in a better location. It was a 5 min walk (or less) to Main Street shops and restaurants and also to a great park for the kids with a good sledding hill. Whiteface and other Olympic sites were all under a 20 min drive. The house had plenty of space for the 4 adults and 2 kids to spread out and enjoy. The check in instructions were not accurate though, so it took us awhile to get into the house. We also could not make sense of the gas fireplace instructions, and the house is in need of a few things like kitchen towels, wash clothes, and placemats. We would totally rent here again!

Great house, great location

This is a great house for families, with four bedrooms, one of which is a bunk room that could sleep 5-6 kids. Two other bedrooms are in the main house and the last is in a fully appointed basement apartment. It's walking distance to the town (less than 5 minutes) and has off-street parking. It has a fully furnished kitchen (two, actually, with the downstairs apartment) and is loaded with electronics, so it is quite comfortable. The house was spotless and the owner, Chris, was very accommodating about check-in. The only negative is that the price per night will be higher than it appears because there are a number of fees (booking, cleaning, etc.) that add up to several hundred dollars. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a great place in the Adirondacks for a family stay, this is it.

Comfy and Convenient

Our stay at 90 Hillcrest was an overall great experience for my family and I. There was plenty of room for all to stay comfortably. The back deck was a perfect place to gather for some good times! It was also conveniently located to Main Street and therefore allowed us to walk from the house when we wanted to explore. The host was very accommodating and graciously answered our requests when contacted. Anyone who chooses to stay here will not be disappointed :)

Nice place in the heart of Lake Placid

The house was nice and roomy, I was there with 7 Adults and we all had enough rooms and beds. Chris was great to work with and was helpful when we set off the alarm :( Really like the location and the porch out back. The only negative i would give it is the microwave is wonky. You have to keep hitting +30 secs to make it work. the other buttons don't respond.. Great property would rent again! Robert

Excellent location

We had a great stay. The location, 2 blocks to town and Mirror Lake, is so convenient. The owner Chris was always available to answer questions and share ideas about activities in the area. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you need for meal preparations. The internet service was good. We also rented the kayaks and used them nearly every day.

Amazing home in the beautiful mountains of Lake Placid

We have often rented homes through VRBO in fact for the last three years. This was the most accurate listed, beautiful home ever. Comfortable. Family friendly. Close to everything. Great ambiance. Full kitchen. All good. Chris the owner has gone overboard on his care and concern for his guests. A must rent property. Enjoy.

Perfect for a Getaway

We were looking for weekend getaway; two adults and 6 Sr. HS Students. House is perfect and afforded the group a great weekend. The location allows so many options to do that are walking distance - skating, shopping, dining, hiking... The house is well equipped and designed for parents and kids to spend time together and time apart. Enjoy.

We have been vacationing in Lake Placid since the early 1990's. It all started with an annual trip up for the Rugby weekend each August. As our family grew we moved from a weekend trip in a hotel to week long vacations in condo's then renting homes. We started coming up multiple times a year and in 2009 found a perfect getaway for family. We love Lake Placid and it has become a big part of our family's life.

Why they chose this property

The location is ideal with a very short walk to the heart of Main Street. It is under 3 minutest to the center of town and 5 minutes to Olympic Center.

What makes this property unique

The layout of the house is set up with all the conveniences of home. Brand new 55" smart TV's were added in the bunk room and living room in 2016. Also the downstairs suite has a second living room and kitchen. Lots of space for a large group!
