About this property
Cabin on Hidden Pond
Lovely and spacious home in the middle of the woods on a stunning pond with killer sunsets and a view of iconic Blue Hill Mountain. 5 minutes from the ocean, stores and restaurants, 45 minutes to Acadia National Park.
The house features a covered wraparound deck, perfect for meals, morning coffee, reading and sleeping outdoors in the summer.
Outside the house is a large garden area with a picnic table, gas grill and a big fire pit.
From the garden area there is a path down to the pond. Guests can relax on Adirondack chairs on the shorefront of the pond, light a fire in the mobile fire pit, or even take a nap pond side in the hammock. There are Kayaks and a canoe for the adventurous, and the pond has brook trout in it.
The house is two levels with a ground floor and a basement floor. Guests stay on the ground floor, which has its own private entrance. I live in two rooms downstairs and also have my own private entrance. There is a big extra bedroom downstairs that can be accessed privately from the upstairs, and is offered to larger parties for no extra cost.
I work part time a professional cook, and when time allows, I can offer special meals to guests, including dishes featuring local seafood such as lobster and crab rolls, seafood stew, fish chowder, clams and mussels and more. Brunch with Bloody Marys and Mimosas are also popular!
Guests can expect a supremely peaceful and quiet vacation experience, just birds and crickets, and the breeze.

About the host
Your host

I grew up in New Jersey and New York City, and lived in the Netherlands for 20 years. I'm a jazz musician, and I also have a catering business. Many people know about Acadia National Park, but not so many know how wonderful the Blue Hill Peninsula is, and I love to see guests enjoy this quiet and beautiful part of the world.
Why they chose this property
I have family here that goes back many generations and have come here all my life. It's an incredibly peaceful and beautiful place with great sea food.
What makes this property unique
The pond house is offers a quintessential Maine vacation in the woods on a serene pond, while also being only five minutes from the ocean, best of both worlds.
