The host Lou is incredible. Responds quickly and goes the extra mile to help you in any way. The property is safe and cozy and very clean. Definitely was our home away from home over the weekend and will definitely stay again when we’re in Houston again. 10/10 recommended!

I booked this home for a girls’ trip during spring break and encountered multiple issues that significantly impacted our stay.First, the gate was not automatic as expected. Each time we entered or exited, we had to get out of the car to manually open and close it.There was also no disclosure about the excessive number of bugs on both the front and back porches, which made it impossible to sit outside.Upon entering, there was a strong urine smell throughout the home. I contacted Lou immediately; he suggested it might be cleaning products, but the odor was overwhelming. We had to purchase our own cleaning supplies to make the home tolerable.The property did not match the listing photos. There were stains on the walls, the couches were visibly filthy, a loose light fixture near the dining area, and a damaged chair. The home clearly needs maintenance and deep cleaning.Additional issues included hair on the master bedroom window, a missing lightbulb in the Jack and Jill bathroom, a loose front door handle, and a greasy pan when we attempted to cook.All issues were reported to Lou. While a late checkout was offered, it required an additional fee.Due to the cleanliness issues and misrepresentation, I am requesting a partial refund.

Chanel, you left this review only after you contacted VRBO at the end of your stay requesting a full refund (not partial) and I declined.
The home was professionally cleaned just two hours before your arrival, and I personally stopped by before and after your stay but there was no foul or urine odor. Complaining about a “smell” is a common move by guests seeking refunds because it cannot be proven.
You also stated that “all issues were reported” which is simply not true. All of these claims were not raised during your stay. They only appeared in this review after your refund request was denied.
As for bugs outside…this is Houston. Outdoor insects are normal, especially in warmer months. This is why we provided bug spray in the kitchen, which was clearly overlooked.
We offered you a free 2-hr late checkout which you gladly accepted. Staying the full reservation and then demanding a full refund is unreasonable. Your review does not reflect the actual condition of the property or how this stay was handled. it is simply retaliatory.

STUNNING STAY
Lou is amazing first and foremost. He communicated so well, set up a beautiful space, and thoroughly communicated everything. The home was AMAZING! I stayed there for my Birthday/Bachelor party and loved it! Lots of space. Lots of amazing sights within 15 min and we felt safe and secure.
