We had everything we could possibly need. Always nice to have toiletries and washing stuff supplied as well. The location is excellent, very quiet street yet minutes from supermarket, restaurants and bars. The two terraces were wonderful for relaxing after a busy day sight seeing.
We had a lovely stay in this house in Sacromonte. The house was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. My kids and I loved the nooks and crannies of this cave house. We all loved that it was quiet at night. It rained most of the time we were here (November) so didn't spend much time on the patios, but the views were amazing when we got out there. You can see the Alhambra from the patio and walk there in about 20 minutes (that is down a steep hill and then up another one). Would definitely stay again. Thank you for the hospitality.

Thank you Katie , you and your lovely family would be most welcome anytime ,
Best wishes to you all
This was a great place for me and my 3 young adult children (19, 22, and 24) in Sacramonte ( according to the folks we met from Granada. So walkable and charming and if you don’t tell like doing the hill back up at the end of the day, it is a cheap taxi ride from the center of town. Communication with hosts was easy. Granada is a great town.

So glad you enjoyed your stay Andy .
Our house is most definitely in the Albaicin though !! you have to pass through the old city wall to get into Sacromonte the old cave district of Granada which is next to the Historic center and also very interesting and worth a visit .
Very clean and comfortable. The host met us at the property and provided info on the area. The view of Alhambra from the top terrace was amazing, and the location was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.
This was a really interesting and fun place to stay in Granada! Our family of four was very comfortable and had wonderful time exploring the city and hiking outside of the city. Lots of great food and action close by, but very quiet at night for sleeping. Great views from the upstairs balcony. Would definitely want to stay here again if back in Granada and would recommend to anyone.
We loved this house from the views from the terraces to the cool interior on a hot day to walking the ancient streets of the Albayzin neighborhood. It was perfect. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen.
Just the best experience, we were a family of 4 with small kids and a family of 2 with a teenager - all had the best time. We walked everywhere and in the late afternoon had sun on the deck. Sarah was an amazing host who greated us and gave good advice. I would recommend this stay to a family or friends.
While our stay here was only 4 nights, I will remember the charms of this house for a very long time. The location Albaycin area was ideal for us. The local residents were friendly, offering greetings as we passed by. After a few days the street layout made sense for us. Our host was helpful and she scheduled a taxi for us on the morning of our departure.

Thank you Richard it was a pleasure to host you and your family, best wishes Sarah
For our family, staying here was special because you got the feeling that you were living in centuries and centuries of history. From the charming, clean, well-kept, and cozy home to the spectacular view of the Alhambra and Albaicin neighborhood and narrow cobblestone roads, it's pretty amazing. The Albaicin is fun to get lost in (unless you have time-specific tickets to visit the Alhambra) and full of interesting shops and eateries.
It's a wonderful home in a fascinating city and I would certainly recommend staying there.

Thank you so much Connor. You were a pleasure to host. Its such a shame it rained a lot but I'm so glad you enjoyed the house and Granada.
You would always be very welcome. Best wishes Sarah
The house was comfortable and homey, although the three levels and steep, slippery stairs are not appropriate for some guests. The neighborhood was interesting and authentic, with good restaurants, as well as convenient for scenic walks and local buses. Owner was helpful, but could have been quicker to respond to inquiries.

Thank you Martha for your feedback and although our house is advertised as a town house it is good to have it re affirmed for those with difficulties on stairs.
I feel I did my best by accommodating their early morning arrival , arranged a personalised tour from our house and booked a taxi for their departure .
The hospitality of guests is my highest priority and always respond as soon as I possibly can to any inquiries
Sarah's Albaicin house is a perfect and real Granada experience. This was our second trip to the city (19 years apart) and Granada was as fabulous as we remembered. The house was a big part of that. From the Alhambra views of the 3rd floor patio at sunset, to the cozy living room and patio on the 1st floor, the house met our needs and exceeded them. The kitchen is compact but very efficient and the same is true of the top floor small bathroom. The larger of the two 2nd floor rooms was great for our friend and the large bathroom there proved to be the space for us girls to blow dry hair:) While we did not hang out in the cave part of the house, if we had a longer stay or were here in summer, we would have as it stayed as consistently cool as a wine cellar. The best part for us was wrapping up in the cozy throw blankets and sitting on the top floor balcony with a glass of wine! Perfecto!

Absolutely wonderful
This house is a gem. The Albayzin neighborhood is like a wonderful dream, and this house lets you enjoy it fully. The terraces are comfortable and let you feel like you're soaking in Granada even when enjoying quiet time at home. The views are great - from the upper terrace especially, absolutely stunning (the picture does not do it justice). The furnishings are very comfortable. There is actually a whole extra bedroom (a fourth) in the cave. We weren't there in the heat of summer but I imagine the cave would be very welcome then, and probably cools the whole house. The whole house is a distinctive, delightful place to stay, and feels like the kind of place you could only have in Granada.
Access with a car is possible, but it is as Sarah says - tricky. The streets of the Albayzin are not for the faint of heart (or large vehicles at all), and the barriers mean you can't get in at all at certain times, so you have to keep that in mind. That said, you can drive and park much more easily in the neighborhood at the top of the street, and your car will only be a 5-10 minute walk away. On the whole, I would think carefully about whether you want a car at all in Granada - the entire city is walkable in 45 minutes from this house, there are frequent buses nearby, cabs are not expensive for getting in and out with luggage, and you can rent a car for a day trip or two if you want to (I recommend a trip to the Alpujarah).

Very helpful, informative review, thank you so much Philip. It makes us very happy to hear you enjoyed our house & the area. The layout of the streets in the Albayzin has been the same for the last 800 years so although many cars use them now they were made for donkeys.-So yes a small car is advisable.
The property is exactly as pictured. The views from the patios are amazing. So much space for the four of us. We stayed in July and the rooms were quite comfortable in temperature. The cave is a great place to nap during the day. Nice to have a washer handy. Sarah was so responsive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Quiet, comfortable, convenient to sights and shopping. Casa Luis is the perfect place for a small party of friends or family. Well-appointed and stocked kitchen, comfortable terrace off living area and second floor bedroom. Sarah makes you feel at home. If you are travelling to Granada Casa Luis should be your accommodation destination.
We had an amazing holiday in a beautiful house with fantastic views of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Stare bene all'Albaicin
Bella casa su tre piani, in ottima posizione, fresca e accogliente, ben disposta e attrezzata, unico neo letti matrimoniali un po' stretti. Casa inoltre tranquilla e silenziosa.
Sarah is wonderful! She had great advice and maps to all the local places of interest. We are vegetarian and Sarah went out of her way to name several vegetarian restaurants for us.
We loved the authentic feel of her home, it is in a quiet neighborhood close to small markets and restaurants with easy access to taxis.
The property was very comfortable, well appointed and clean. Sarah was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The location was fabulous. The view from the terrace was stunning. My only caution would be that this is not a location for people with mobility issues as while it’s an easy walk to the sights it is hilly and hard to drive to.

About the host
Hosted by Sarah McNulty
We are a family of 4 .We moved here in 2001 and haven´t looked back. We came for some adventure and a good- hearted place to bring up our kids & have not been disappointed. The beauty, culture and history of Granada has kept us stimulated and we have all grown to love this place ,its people and the lifestyle .
Why they chose this property
We were stunned by the beauty and feel of the Albayzin on our first visit.Later we started to inquire about houses for sale. Our house was the first one we looked at and the search stopped there .It was only a shell but it had & has an atmosphere hard to capture in a photo. The previous owner was Laura de los Rios the niece of Garcia Lorca- Granadas famous poet. She bought it for its light atmosphere and privacy all rare qualities in the houses here. It is our desire to live here in the near future. A thank you to all our guests for helping us in this quest. Also we are very lucky to be able to drive to the door of the house as the Albayzin is a restricted zone & many of the cobbled streets don´t have access. To keep it quiet & traffic free our street has a barrier that is up between 11am -2pm & after 8pm( you can always exit!)If you arrive during these times just park up and walk down to the house-When the barrier lifts you can bring your car closer.
What makes this property unique
The Caves which would have been the original house . They are always cool in Summer and warm in winter we are very lucky to have them as an integral part of the house . Our house is only a few minutes from the city center but above the pollution Also a few minutes from the sierra behind the Albayzin -for endless walks or cycling. The incredible sunsets.
