About this property

Smartly Designed Studio for the Solo Traveler

As you enter our neighborhood from Downtown, or the western hills of the pacific coast range, you will find a quiet tree lined street with houses in the Bungalow, Ranch, English, and Mediterranean styles. As you approach your studio, you will see a cute patio under a giant redwood that is yours to enjoy. A charming fountain will welcome you to your private studio entrance which is attached to our beautiful one story ranch home.

The studio is situated to take advantage of the morning sun. At 365 Sq. ft. the space feels big. The Murphy styled queen bed can be raised if space is needed for yoga or exercise. The kitchen counter doubles as usable workspace. A full refrigerator, washer/dryer, stove, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker balance out the kitchen space. Other items include AC/Heat, WI-FI, TV, ample storage, and an ironing board.

Walking to downtown is pleasant and will take about 15 minutes. The express train at the depot will have you in San Francisco in 35 minutes, or to downtown Palo Alto in 15. During the summer, enjoy an outdoor concert on Wednesdays in our neighborhood Stafford park a block away or in Redwood City's main square on Friday nights.

We are situated in the fog-less belt of the San Francisco peninsula with close access to great open space walking and hiking areas, Stanford University, Facebook, and 30 minutes to beautiful Half Moon Bay on the coast.

My husband and I occupy the main house and can assist you with questions and needs that can arise. Enjoy!

Summer Internship

Stayed here for 9 weeks for a summer internship. Excellent location, so close to downtown Redwood City. Hosts Maria and Jim are amazing, kind, friendly people. Located in a beautiful residential area, close to parks with plenty of peaceful walking options. The studio is outfitted with everything you could need or think of. So very comfortable and feels like a home away from home.

Amazing People and Cozy Apartment

Jim and Maria were great to rent from, going above and beyond to help make the stay more comfortable. The apartment is located in a very nice area, close enough to Caltrain to get anywhere you need to go with out any hassle. They even helped me out when I needed to get to the hospital after my girlfriend broke her arm. Amazing property (small but very well planned apartment), very kind people, and Maria’s baked goods are fantastic. I’d happily stay here again.

We are foodies, and active hikers. Ask us and we will get you going in the right direction! Jim is a native of Redwood City and grew up up one block from our location. He is exceptionally familiar with the ins and outs of every thing local, from sporting events to wine tasting to good hospitals. Maria came to San Francisco from Mexico City in 1990 to study a career in the food industry and is very adept at where to eat and visit for an exceptional dining experience.. We choose to call Redwood City home and hope that you will stay and experience what our area has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Our location lends itself to wonderful tree lined neighborhood walks to downtown or into the upscale Edgewood Park neighborhood. If you like open space, then you will be 10 minutes to Edgewood Park or the Redwood Bay Trail. Alternately you can choose to walk downtown for a concert at the Fox Theatre, or stop into one of the local gyms for a workout. We are perfectly located to leave the car behind and get to where you want to go by foot.

What makes this property unique

We are situated a 15 minute walk to the Caltrain, which is your gateway transportation to every city on the peninsula from san Francisco to San Jose.
For traveling nurses, or those coming in to seek advanced medical treatment, we are located in close proximity to several great hospitals.
Sequoia Hospital is 5 minutes away, Kaiser is 10 minutes, PA Medical Foundation is 15, and Stanford is 20 or so minutes.
