The Stargazer is a perfect staycation/vacation cottage, welcoming guests to stay on a 68 acre tree farm with 8 Nigerian dwarf goats, 6 sheep & three dogs.

Our guests can make themselves at home, staying 100% private. You are welcome to bring crackers to feed the goats. We have new babies born in march every year!

The farm was recently quoted by Vinton Soil Water Conservation as a wildlife mecca, perfect for anyone looking to reconnect with nature & relax. Various species of birds, hawks, owls, deer, wild turkeys, geese & occasional bobcat may be spotted.

This place was so great! The host was very responsive and accommodating. The bed was extremely comfortable. The fireplace made the whole place so cozy, we were worried coming up in January with all the glass that it would be chilly, but it was nice and warm. We had so much fun looking at the sheep and meeting the farm dogs. We always look forward to going back after our day of hikes. I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect if you want to get away from the crowds but still be close by some attractions. Surrounded by nature and nature sounds with birds, goats, a rooster crowing, and the hosts super friendly dogs! The place itself was clean, the bed was comfy, and the hosts were super responsive to anything we needed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Stargazer. I loved the simplicity of just being still and soaking in the peaceful surroundings — plus, the animals were absolutely hilarious! My husband and I stayed for our two year anniversary, we enjoyed our stay SO MUCH! The views surrounding the property are even better than the photos and the interior was clean and comfortable. We loved seeing the dogs (there are four!!) and goats every day, they made it hard to leave! The host Rachelle was great and made sure we had everything we needed. We both can’t wait to come back!!!! One night momcation

This place is spectacular for peace and enjoying the country animals. The goats were super friendly and there is a sliding glass door that if you leave open, a cat will come in and make herself at home. The views are great and I would love to bring my husband back this fall for our anniversary!

Peaceful getaway surrounded by animals

Very clean, peaceful location with some friendly dogs, cats, sheep and goats to keep you company. We were even joined by a friendly Tom turkey. We love animals and this was right up our alley. I sat by the campfire( wood provided) and picked guitar and we sang songs until the wee hours. Very nice stay. Only downside were the bees/wasps
