House was amazing. Pool was fun. Bbq grill and outside furniture was a blessing. Home was central San Antonio, close proximity to all things San Antone. Will definitely stay here again. Host was so easy to chat with. Great place. Thank you hostess Jayne for all this information and help.
My family had a great time here when they came to visit! The kids LOVED the pool and hot tub. There were some minor irritations with the layout or doors that were hard to open/close, but the pool and porch were highlights.
The location of this house was perfect! We were a very short drive from the Pearl Brewing District, the Alamo, and the River Walk. We loved the layout of the house which also had a very nice porch. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use the pool due to the weather. We contacted the owner regarding a concern about the grass needing mowing. She responded right away. The house is older, but had very comfortable beds. Overall, we had a great trip and a place to call home for a few days.
Wonderful house near Brackenridge Park and north end of River Walk
This was an excellent house for my 8-person family for a weekend trip to San Antonio.
The layout feature an open floorplan for the living room, kitchen, and dining room that makes it easy for everyone to interact with each other while watching TV, preparing food, and playing games at the table. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms all connect to the open area. One of the bedrooms has a pack and play and a small cot appropriate for a toddler. That bedroom also has small windows into the main area - this can make it harder for people in this room to go to sleep earlier than other people in the house. One of the bathrooms includes a washer & dryer and has a door to the backyard. This is an older house that creaks and does not have a lot of sound isolation in the house - if you are a light sleeper that likes to go to bed early consider bringing ear plugs or a white noise generator to suppress the noise of others moving around the house.
Outside of the house, the front features a well-furnished wrap-around porch on two sides of the house, including lights and ceiling fans. The back yard has a nice covered area with a grill and seating, a swimming pool, and additional space for games in the yard.
Overall this was an excellent house in a wonderful location. It is a great place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Brackenridge Park, including the DoSeum and the Zoo, hike around the north end of the River Walk, or have short drives/rides into downtown San Antonio.

Home dirty and in disrepair
We had the worst VRBO experience to date here! From pics, we expected a bright, well-manicured older house with a cute pool & pretty porch.
Members in my party arrived after 6:00 p.m. on check-in day and the house hadn’t been cleaned at all! Towels from previous guests were on the floor & beds were not made. I contacted the home owner & he politely & frantically tried to rectify the situation. When I arrived with the remaining party 2+ hours later, a lady was in a flurry trying to clean & swap out linens & towels—but not to the level needed. We did our best to unload & stay out of her way, so we stayed on the front porch & noticed a horrid smell of death rot coming from under the porch.
Once she left, we noticed dirty bath mats were left from previous guests. Throw blankets weren’t washed. We were grossed out & took the stained comforters & pillows off beds. There was no clean extra bedding left for us, so we slept in sheets. My mom used a towel for warmth. The house smelled musty, once the Clorox evaporated, so we bought a candle & can of Febreeze to spray the textiles & sofas that had not been cleaned.
Most of the home’s blinds are stained paper construction blinds & the real blinds in the utility/pool bath are broken.
A closet door in one of the bedrooms has broken slats & the AC vents are covered in a thick black dust or mold. The light in the main bath is covered in a thick coat of white dust & the shower head has 1 stream that is so aggressive, it assaulted 3 adults in our party! No one dared shower there again. The kitchen island drawers are duct-taped along the sides to keep them shut.
We went to a nearby festival for a few hours & returned early due to the heat, deciding to cool off in the pool. The pool was dirty, no skimmer pole was left for us. Grass & weeds were overgrown, some coming through the porch slats & lawn chairs were strewn about—no landscaping. The smell only got worse in the heat! It smelled too badly to be outside & the house was gross inside—my anxiety growing as I noticed more gross/broken things. I wanted to run away to a hotel and cut my $1k loss, but we had our pets with us & most rooms were booked.
I communicated issues to the owner & our pet cleaning fee was returned as a courtesy—but honestly this listing feels like false advertising using old pics—a far cry from the cute, clean home we expected.
Positives: the porch is pretty, mattresses are comfortable, the owner is nice.
