Watch the birds on a wrap-around porch. Very private and pet friendly.
Drink your coffee on the wide wrap around porch and watch the hummingbirds fly by as you experience the southernmost part of the Appalachian mountain range. If you love the outdoors and also love ending the night with a hot shower and comfy bed, this little cabin is the perfect place for a retreat.
The cabin is located on our a sixteen acre wooded property in the Locust Fork River Watershed, two miles from Mardis Mill Waterfall, four miles from King’s Bend Overlook park, and fifteen miles from Palisades Park. We are near Spring Valley Beach Water Park, and the cute town of Oneonta.
Our grounds include sandstone glades, a cleared meadow, and restoration forests. You'll have lots of space to breath--the nearest neighbor is down the road and across the street--more than a hundred yards away. There's a good chance that while you're here, you will be visited by hummingbirds, cardinals, whip-o-wills and other birds. We sometimes spot white-tailed deer out in the yard. There is lots of comfortable seating on the wrap around porch, and a propane grill if you feel like cooking outdoors. The cabin is pet friendly and you will almost certainly be visited by our neighbor dogs, Buster and Peanut, two friendly dogs who love to greet our guests and play with visiting dogs.
The cabin has a homey vibe with potted plants and bird-feeders--we tend the space with care and try to add little touches that make it feel like a home away from home. It's got high speed wifi in case you need to keep up with the outside world, but no TV so you can retreat in peace. Both beds are made up with overstuffed pillows and down duvets. The kitchen has everything you need to make a good meal; we include complimentary coffee to get you started each day.

Great little getaway location! The house was just the right size and had everything we needed. The wrap around porch was wonderful, however - the temperatures being in the teens and 20’s did not allow us use of it all. We do plan on being back in either the Spring or Fall to enjoy that porch
What a great experience we had. Where are you talking about going back again. The cabin was very nice. The wraparound porch was very wonderful and very healing. We had a question for the host and she got back to us very promptly with the answer. Sign up for this one. You will not regret it.
The place was clean and cozy! All the instructions were easy to follow regarding parking, key/entry, and WiFi access. There were a couple bugs and moths visible when I first entered, but honestly, considering the wooded location, it’s almost to be expected. While I did not allow them to enjoy the stay with me , someone with a bug phobia may not appreciate their presence.During the first night of my 2-night stay night there was a weather related power outage in the area, I communicated that to the hosts and they were very quick to respond. They offered to bring by candles if I needed it. They also provided me with a “power on” update and website for me to reference to check status of power issue. If you’re looking for a nice, quite stay in the area, I do recommend!
Overall great stay. Beautiful location and the wrap around porch is perfect for relaxing on. One of the beds is on the porch and had mosquito netting. Neighbor dogs came by to visit each day but were super friendly. Would stay again!

The property is very private in it's own setting in the woods.
The cabin is tastefully decorated and the kitchen and bath are newly remodeled.
The wraparound porch is fantastic with views of the property.
We met with Lindsey and was able to get in a little earlier than expected. It is a small cozy cabin and in a quiet area. Buster the neighbors dog is very gentle and visited every day. We enjoyed our stay.
Me and my fiancé loved the secluded spot and privacy. Also, enjoyed the absence of a tv and radio. We were visited by the sweetest doggo too! We are already planning to go back.
This little woodland cabin was wonderful! Very clean, comfortable beds, so many different places to sit and relax. The wrap around porch is definitely one of the best parts. We had storms while we were there and my daughter and I loved sitting out and watching the rain and lightning from the sofa outside. We, sadly, didn't get to meet Buster and Peanut as our trip was cut short due to illness (1 year old daughter with high fever), but hopefully will next time. We definitely want to stay again!
This was our second time staying here. Upon booking I was looking for a quiet place for my fiancé and 6month old. Seeing there is a grill in many pictures I assumed it worked. Come to find out there was no propane tank. Pots and pans were minimal. Not near as fun as the first time. But was a good quiet stay

Apologies for the grill tank, Tyler! We typically keep it full, but it had been moved during a stretch of cold days and we forgot to put it back before your stay. That's our bad. I hope if y'all ever do come back through we can treat you to a better time.
There were several stray dogs that stayed on the porch while we were here. The dogs werent mentioned in the description of the cabin. Also not mentioned was the lack of a tv or radio. We loved the location, the fresh flowers in the cabin, and the plush towels and washcloths.

Thank you Frances! We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry you are disappointed by the lack of TV or radio. For future rentals, you will want to check the amenities listed to see if those are included. For nature-orientied stays like ours, these are often not standard amenities.
You may have missed in our description where we say, "While you're here, there's a good chance that while you're here, you will be visited by a couple of friendly neighbor dogs." Our cabin is in the countryside, and our next door neighbor's dogs do stop by the cabin often. We get that this isn't ideal for everyone; hopefully future guests will catch this detail in the listing if that's the case.
Surprised my Husband with a weekend getaway for his 50th Birthday. It was Everything I wanted and Exactly what we needed. The cabin was perfect. We went to see our first waterfall together at Mardis Mill Falls and We fell in Love with our cabin mascot Buster. He said it was the perfect Retreat. We are already planning to return in the fall. Our host Lindsey was Awesome! She met us at the cabin and told us all the must sees and answered all my questions beforehand promptly. Thank you for having us!
We loved staying in this cozy cabin. The wrap-around porch is amazing, with plenty of seating. It rained a bit during our stay, but we still enjoyed sitting on the porch which is big enough to watch the weather and still stay dry. The cabin is pretty secluded - it felt very private. The neighbor dog also visited and "guarded" the home some.
The host was attentive - checked in with us after our arrival, and quick to respond. We didn't have any issues during our stay. The cabin was clean. The beds are very soft and comfortable. The shower was nice and hot, and we had plenty of towels. There were lots of electrical outlets - inside and out. I would not hesitate to rent again.

Perfect little dog friendly cabin for a weekend getaway
Check in was super easy, the lights were all on and key was easy to find. The cabin was clean and it had everything you would need ie; toothbrushes, paste, shower essentials, even coffee and creamer. The fractal scorched wood trim was a nice touch but the real star of the show is the huge wrap around porch with several seating areas to chose. Heard a lot of birds, didn't see too many but did have a bat on pest patrol buzz the porch a few times. The neighbors dog (black and white, very sweet) popped in Saturday night and stayed on the porch until we left and his brindle buddy (a bit more skittish but friendly) came over for a while Sunday morning. The only two minor gripes I have are; 1, I wish the place had a full size coffee maker, I go through 8 cups of coffee on a typical morning and 2, the black and white dog scared the crap out of me while we were leaving, he escorted us out but kept running in front of my car and I couldn't see him and was worried I was gonna run him over, he don't know any better and it's funny now, but frustrating at the time. Anyway, perfect little secluded cabin that was a perfect for us stay. We'll be booking it again next time we visit the area.
Great place for a couple to get away from it all and relax. Felt like we were hundreds of miles from any one but really wasn’t too far from town. Beautiful area in the fall! Host was very helpful and friendly. There was no mention that there is not a TV - a little disappointed but worked around it. Overall, loved it!
