Never got there

The house never communicated back to us any detils of how to get in. Vrbo didn't let us cancel until it was too late to find another house. They offered to pay for accomodations for one night when we really needed to for two. We ended up staying at some hostel thanks to a last-minute find by one of our friends. Not sure why this house is still listed.

Cancelled on us as we got there

We spoke to the property owner one week prior, and asked about early check in, since 4pm was too close to the onset of Shabbos. He said we could check in at 11am. We arrived at 12pm. When we got there, we were told 'he's sorry, but the apartment is no longer available'. Keep in mind that we landed from the US that morning, and we are a family with 5 children. Verbo said they couldn't help us until the 4pm check-in time, which was too late for us. The other option was to speak to the owner, who kept telling verbo he didn't speak any English. We had communicated with the owner in Hebrew, but we couldn't conference the owner together with Verbo (Verbo said we couldn't). We were completely stranded in a foreign country. We ended up standing on the main road in the old city of Tzefat like a bunch homeless people (which we essentially were at that moment) asking strangers if they knew of any apartment for rent. Thankfully, within an hour and a half (during which my wife and children sat in a bagel shop resting), with the help of the amazing locals, we had a new place to stay that was relatively similar to the place we booked. I don't think we will ever use Verbo again.
