This place is a one of a kind unique stay. With the environmentally clean off the grid footprint. The cabin has its own power with solar and batteries. The generator will automatically start when more power is required and the batteries need charging. Water comes from a well and stored in large underground water tanks. There are portable evaporative coolers to help cool down the cabin on hot days.
This cabin has an open floor space to enjoy the company of your group. There are 2 bedrooms in the main living area. One has a queen bed and the other has two bunks with a full on the bottoms with plenty of headroom for adults. There is also an attached RV which adds one more queen bed and a futon.
The cabin is located on 9+ acres and some swear that we’ve seen bigfoot runnin round hear. There is a small playground area, including horseshoe pits, a balance beam path and partially buried tires. If you like to explore, just off the property you can find some old Indian house ruins. Some of them are hard to get to. Others you can see write from the dirt roads.
2 miles down a dirt road, not recommended for compact or sports cars but maybe possible with larger sedans with a higher clearance.

Yes the road in was a bit rough but our Subaru Outback managed it. The property and cabin were lovely and cozy. The owner was very communicative. The cabin was clean and easy to manage. We were able to take day trips daily to places like Arches, Canyonlands, Hovenweep, Moab etc. All about 1 hour 20 minute drives to each. Just really a great homebase for our family of 4 and dog! We'd definitely go back!
I had a great time staying at the cabin and would stay there again next time I'm in the area. The cabin is as listed. Brett communicated well and check in was easy. If you have time, explore the canyons to find the Native American ruins.
Okay, If you are a five star type person this may not be the place for you. However, if you read the description and nod to the humor, and that looks good, then this is a good place to stay. It is off the gird but highly functional. At the time of our stay there is only one toilet for the main house so be prepared to share. Though the yard is a mess in keeping with the redneck theme, the house was very tidy and clean.
If you want beauty & tranquility- this place is for you!
We very much enjoyed our stay here. It is definitely the Redneck Ranch but very comfortable for an off grid cabin.
It is well stocked with everything we needed. Communication was great. I loved the hammock on the screened porch. It is beautiful & quiet- we loved it!
If you don't want neighbors on your vacation, this place is an excellent choice.
There were 10 of us (6 adults, 4 kids) and we were pretty comfortable. Inside the house there was enough sitting room for us, although we did spend a lot of time outside. There were enough trees for shade that we ate most of our meals outside.
The property had plenty of space through a cedar forest to explore.
If you like having a fire, there were many places for one that you could sit around, and a good amount of firewood available.
Brett the owner was extremely helpful and went above and beyond for providing any information about the area.
One surprising thing for me was that not only was there internet, but it was very fast and reliable. Which was good, as we didn't have reliable cell service otherwise.
Do be aware the road is rough the last bit to the house, but it did look like someone was trying to make it more passable when we left.
This is an ideal place to stay if you want all of the perks of country life (seeing the stars, sitting around a fire, exploring nature) while still having all of the comforts of home (HD TV, high speed internet, excellent heating, running water, etc). The property is huge – so large that you can’t even see from one end to the other. Our dogs got to spend the whole trip running around and playing. The house is big enough to accommodate large groups, but it still felt comfortable with just my wife and I staying there. All of the utilities worked well. We were especially impressed by an internet connection that let both of us be on webcam meetings at the same time. The road getting there is a little rough, so driving the final stretch of the way might be challenging if you have a small car and there’s bad weather, but that’s understandable when you get this level of seclusion and is something the owner can help with. Speaking of which, the owner was extremely attentive and accommodating. He even gave us directions for short hikes to local archeological sites that were really impressive.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It had plenty of clean, comfortable space for our party of 11 to sleep and hang out (indoors and outdoors) after a day of exploring the surrounding wonders. It's a very secluded and quiet place, with amazing night skies and a couple nearby ravines with ruins to explore. Our dogs loved it too with plenty of space to run and a gated patio to enjoy as well. We'll be back!
