Unfortunately, we ended up leaving shortly after our arrival. First issue was that there was no key to lock up the house. I was told "just leave it open you're fine." Second issue was that the tennis court was unusable. There were ant hills and broken glass. The house had clearly not been cleaned prior to arrival. Surfaces and floors were sticky. We also found mice running through the 1/2 bath by the kitchen. We notified the owner who offered to lay traps. When they arrived the gentleman that was there swore at us. We didn't feel safe in this house. The pictures do not accurately depict the condition of the house. It is need of a lot of repairs. It was set up like a frat house.

Upon arrival she texted me that she wished she had found our house first (rather than the "gross" house" she had rented for July.) I was surprised when she said she wanted to leave.
I told her there was no need to lock the door as no one came up the long private driveway. I never said I couldn't leave the key, she didn't ask again.
This is a house with large bedrooms meant for friends and family, so there are two beds in the rooms.
The house was cleaned by Maids, it was Sunday but I thought they did a good job.
The woman told me that she was afraid her large doodle dog might get hurt in the woods where she was walking it. She said she saw a mouse in the house. The next day I checked the trash. They had thrown out a large amount of trash including a big box of wet dog food. I wonder if maybe a mouse rode along in the box from the "gross" house they had just stayed in for a month
She also told me her teenagers wanted to go back to the city as the weather was all rain the next day.
As for a couple cans and a bottle I found in the bushes, they must have fallen off the deck railing.
The clay tennis court was serviced the week before and was due for another service.. However, one would brush it prior to playing. I played on it the next day.
No one "swore" at them; I had a guy with me to set the mouse traps and he introduced himself then walked away. She then said they were leaving. which was upsetting as it was Sunday and he didn't usually work on Sunday.
It was obvious the kids wanted to leave due to the weather. Apparently they had two or three days in between rentals and they chose to go to the city rather than stay here int he rain.
Such an amazing stay - the swimming pool, the tennis court , the proximity to Sag Harbor and the beach…this is my favorite house in the hamptons . The house has a lot of space - 5 bedrooms and extra beds - which is perfect to welcome big families or group of friends.Leslie was the nicest - super communicative and accommodating. I will definitely come back in Leslie beautiful house
