Hi Kenneth, wow ... short and sweet and to the point is when you said you "....could have just sat on the porch and watched the wildlife." Yes, the chalet was designed to encompass an excellent viewing angle for photography, filming, observing our wildlife, the Yellowstone River, and a safe and comfortable place to just sit on the balcony and watch our amazing wildlife critters both large and small :) I am grateful for your visit and any future visit(s)!

Yes, the chalet location is unique in that it provides for comfortable and safe experiencing of our precious Yellowstone wildlife from the chalets decking east to miles along the Yellowstone River, west to the National Forest, and directly south viewing into Yellowstone Park. Gary, thank you for your excellent Chalet review! Yes, great for 2 couples with the two bedroom suites ... and XL twin bunk beds for 2 children ... although, I have young at heart adults wanting to experience the top bunk :) The bunk stairs make it easy :) Thank you for mentioning the excellent amenities and the best ever kitchen as that is very important to me!

Thank you also for mentioning the fact one cannot get any closer to Yellowstone Park and is why we have frequent visits from the elk and our other amazing wildlife neighbors. Views from the wrap around deck was planned for your relaxation and viewing excellence. Our clear night skies promote what we call our night sky exceptional star gazing and at times allows capturing the magnificent aurora borealis! Also, you mentioned as the host my wanting my guests to meet their Yellowstone wish-list is why I often mention that questions are welcome at any time! Thank you for your 5 star review and the honor of the Chalet servicing a peaceful and beautiful time for your family while enjoying watching our precious Yellowstone wildlife among and around the property. To address your concerns and maybe those of others: the unoccupied 5th wheel, as I had mentioned, is in the process of being removed and was there before and during the Chalet winter construction. The metal shed, thankfully, was needed during the construction as most of the building supplies came from Bozeman nearing 80 miles away. The main contractors came from Butte about 163 miles away. Storage is essential for building and construction supplies that far away. In addressing the trash removal, as you mentioned we are a bear region. Thankfully, our living area takes great precautions in preventing any bear incidents. However, in the town of Gardiner, many trash containers residents have are inadequate … even thinking they are bear proof … as recently a Griz had ruined a mobile coffee shop and tried breaking into a couple Gardiner homes. The authorities unfortunately had to euthanize that beautiful and healthy bear the week before you arrived. Our trash removal is necessary for safety number 1 and also the fact that excellent quality housekeepers like you experienced (and as I am so honored to have) are hard to come by because of the high cost of housing in our area. They service up to 3 housekeeping sites in one day. Not able to handle even 3 days of garbage much less a week’s garbage hauling for each site and the distance it takes to dispose of it safely. The resulting additional guest costs would be exorbitant. Thank you again, and I hope to have your return visit(s)!

What a complete honor ... meeting you, your wife, and your friend, Roger, and his wife was and is a total joy! After your serving our country, you both became pilots that I learned I would be totally confident in knowing if the commercial pilot was you who was manning my flight!
