About this property

Grandma's House in the Woods, one mile from Custer

My folks' old place just south of Custer, an old converted pole barn set on five wooded acres with lots of parking and peace and quiet. Easy access, garage parking, a big front porch for sitting, sipping, and relaxing and for watching the deer and turkeys and cottontails. Sleeps up to 8, dog friendly. Pet sitting may be available this season. Owner on premises this season for improvements, but not in your way! High speed fiber optic internet and DirectTV, room AC units, full kitchen, commercial W/D, handicap accessible including main bathroom and master bedroom. Minutes to Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, blocks from Mickelson Trail.
One mile to restaurants, shopping and gifts, pharmacy, grocery store, service stations. Trail rides, fishing, boating, hiking, helicopter rides, and adventure vehicle rentals and bicycles close by. Grandma's House feels rural, but is located central to most Black Hills attractions and parks.

Relaxation at its best
‘Grandma’s House’ was warm and welcoming. Check in was a breeze. Vicki is a very gracious host who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The house was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Custer and the surrounding Black Hills are beautiful. We could get to all the attractions the area has to offer without any problems. Will definitely stay here if we come back to this part of the Country. Thank you Vicki for sharing your house with us.

Late September
The property is beautiful and convenient to several amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked and the fresh eggs fed the 6 of us nicely for breakfast.

Great Stay in Custer, SD
This is a great property in Custer, SD, very fairly priced. You have an entire house to yourself in the woods, but are just a mile away from the town of Custer and less than 30 minutes from Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse. Other South Dakota towns are about 10-15 minutes away and you are less than an hour from Rapid City. This is a great place to stay to visit all those locations. The house is clean with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, but can fit a few more people if needed. You have a huge driveway and we saw wild turkeys several times. The owner got back to us right away with questions and helped us fix a TV issue immediately, and she also supplied us with wine and eggs. A great place to stay in the Black Hills.

Wonderful Custer location
This home is on a beautiful acreage just outside of Custer. We saw deer wandering through every morning. It is a very peaceful, relaxing location and Vicki, our host, was always accommodating. The home had everything we needed for a four night stay and was very comfortable. We would stay here again.
