We stayed for the weekend and it was overall a very nice house, very clean and felt homely. We used the small grill and the fire pit which the kids loved. The table tennis/pool table was also very nice. There were plenty of kitchen supplies as well which was very helpful. Phil was amazing at communicating and troubleshooting and was very kind and understanding. The only small thing i would say is that the basement bathroom was a lot smaller than what I expected. It was a full bath with a standing shower separated by a curtain but we didn't end up using the shower because of the space. The upstairs bathroom was great and sufficient enough for us so it did.not make too much of a difference.
From pre check-in to check-out the property and hosts were perfect. The house was just as described and perfect for the white-water rafting trip we planned. Perfect location. Fenced-in yard was perfect for the dogs too! Wish we could all have stayed longer. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and willing to answer all of our questions. Would definitely stay again!
Very nice, clean and well stocked home! Great location. Excellent communication from hosts. We appreciated the kid friendly books, games and ping pong table!
Absolutely amazing stay! Extremely close to the police & fire stations. Fenced in back yard for the pups! Plenty of room for the 7 of us!! When we come back to WV this is where we will stay!!!
We had a great weekend stay at the Green Door Getaway! We had a group of 9 and there was plenty of space to gather together as well as our own spaces. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. It is also conveniently located and was easy to travel to stores and the National Park. The owners were quick with communication and to meet any needs. Would stay again!
We stayed at this Oak Hill house for a family labor day trip and all loved the house. It is very clean, decorated beautifully, and gave lots of space for everyone. We most enjoyed the back patio to chill at in the early morning and evenings while chatting, and the game room with the ping pong/pool table duo. The large kitchen table was great for meals and playing board games. We took a few walks around the neighborhood in the evening too and appreciated the quiet, safe area. The police and fire stations are right down the street. Finally, we appreciated that the location made it easy to drive to local attractions and hikes. Highly recommend!

Hi Sheryl, thank you so much for such a glowing review. Christina and I are so happy you enjoyed our home and we hope to see you again!
There were four of us in the group, all sisters. With 4 bedrooms we each had our space while still being together in one home. It was close to nearly everything we had planned. Interior is as pictured. The only change was that there was not a composter, but Philip quickly responded to my message letting us know that it unfortunately had not worked out as fruit flies became an issue. Note there were no fruit flies or other insects to worry about! The yoga room was a hit for the sister in our group who is a yoga instructor. Would definitely recommend to others.

The floors were not very clean. There was a lot of grass along the baseboards and on the basement stairs. The microwave didn’t work. There was a twin bed listed for a commons areas and it is actually an air mattress not a twin bed. There was dried food on the kitchen cabinets and walls. There was opened jar of jam in one of the cabinets. The spatula was maybe melted off. There were two in bad shape. The garage door in the basement didn’t close so there is a draft and made the basement where the second bathroom and an additional bedroom are very cold. The bathroom in the basement had no privacy. There was no lock on the door and a gap between the door and the wall. When I notified the owner of once of the outlets and the microwave not working, he told me I could go to the garage and check the fuse box. I did. I flipped the fuse. The outlet worked but the microwave didn’t. I never got a response back from that. The heated patio is not very nice. There were cobwebs everywhere and the neighbors backyard is less than desirable to look at. The driveway cannot hold 3 cars. It’s is very narrow. There are 3 additional steps not shown in the pictures and there is no railing. My dad fell out last night there.

Hi Kendra, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. You may be happy to know that we replaced the microwave promptly after your stay as it appears that someone broke it just prior to you. I am sorry you felt our home was not up to your standards. We do try our best to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible. Nonetheless, we do value feedback and make an effort to correct all the issues with the home as quickly as possible.
Great location for centralized activities at the New River Gorge! Really nice kitchen with everything you need and great space for me and my 4 kiddos, ages 13,11,9, and 6!
Spacious house. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need if you wanted to cook, which we didn't. Quiet neighborhood. 10 minutes from Ace Adventure rafting. Enjoyed our stay!
Great place for a group to stay for a weekend rafting trip. super clean would stay again. We had 7 people which was a little crowded. There is a workout/bonus room that could be better served with an additional twin bed in there to better serve a large group of friends that dont want to share a queen bed :)
