The Farmhouse- country charm, room for family visiting, relaxing, or gathering

Ranch style home decorated with farmhouse charm. 4 bed rooms, 2.5 baths, books & games closet, and 2 living rooms for relaxing. Kitchen w/ essentials, including a full size dining room table with chairs. Nice yard view with shade trees and a winding stream. Relaxing and comfy. Located on the edge of town, off highway 18 for easy access to many sites for exploring and historic towns to visit. We have an on-site game room including board games, pinball machine, ski ball, and Pac-Man multi game machine. We have a NO animals allowed policy. We also have a NO smoking or inside any buildings policy, if smoking outside please take remnants with you. This is a very family friendly property that many use for weddings, funerals, and reunion stays. Contractor reservations need prior approval with host.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Perfect location. Had a wedding in Castalia, only 10 minutes away, then reception at event center, 3 minutes away, house was very comfortable, enjoyed the game room.

We were in town visiting family near by and this home was perfect for us! It was so clean and spacious. Everything was labeled and easy to find. They have so many little touches you don’t often find in a VRBO that made our stay even more comfortable. The kids loved the game room and all of the games and puzzles they have. The back yard is beautiful! The first night we were hearing traffic and the owner even had a fan delivered to help with that and to keep us cool on a warmer night. Very responsive owners.

Wonderful Stay!

The property was exactly as stated on the site. We were all impressed and the location was right on the main highway, centrally located for our weekend. The hosts thought of everything! One minor complaint was a small plug in air freshener that was very overpowering in the main living area. We unplugged during our stay. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Very nice updated house in West Union

Great location with short walks along tree lined homes to downtown West Union where there’s Euphoria Coffee with hot breakfast option and several other eating establishments. The recently updated house has ample parking for larger families with several cars. The house has a lower floor that opens out to a huge parklike backyard. there’s a bedroom and bath downstairs plus arcade style gameroom. Main floor has 3 bedrooms and and onsuite bath plus a half bath in the washroom. Coffee was supplied with bath the ground coffee and Kuereg option. 75 inch Samsung innden and another nice TV downstairs near the arcade room. Highly recommend this property et al.

Amazing stay!

Our group of 6 stayed here during RAGBRAI 2022 and wished we could have stayed longer. Every detail has been thought out by the hosts, from paper products to toiletries to extra blankets, and it was super clean. Cabinets in the kitchen were well labeled to find anything you needed. All the beds were comfortable. The main level includes 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, laundry area, extra-large open family room, kitchen and dining area. Downstairs included a bedroom, 1 bath, a second large family room and game room. Our group had a blast in the game room playing pinball, skeet ball and Ms. Pacman (there are other games on this console). There is also a game table set up with checkers. While we were not there long enough to enjoy the backyard (I believe there are yard games there too), it was quite large and beautifully landscaped. This home would be perfect for a family reunion. Not only is this a beautiful home to stay in, it is also in one of the most beautiful areas of Northeast Iowa. We will definitely be back for another stay with our family!

Farmhouse oasis!

We had a GREAT stay! I couldn't recommend this more. Such a well-appointed and homey house. The owners have thought of absolutely everything you would ever need. Highly recommend!

Family Christmas

The property is beautiful! With grocery stores and entertainment nearby it is the perfect place for our entire family. Very clean with an excellently appointed kitchen. It even had a beautiful Christmas tree which delighted our grandchildren. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful Farmhouse

Wonderful home with a beautiful property. Very comfortable beds. We all wish we would have had an extra day to use the game room (skeeball is a favorite) and explore the creek/woods at the end of the property. It is at the top of the list when we go visit family in the area again!

Absolutely wonderful home

Very well maintained home that had amazing charm. We were in town for a wedding and this home was half mile from the venue. We have stayed in many rentals and this was the nicest place yet.
