We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the Black Bear Lodge. It was conveniently located near downtown Gatlinburg and easy driving distance from Pigeon Forge and surrounding areas. Perfect location for a family vacation in the mountains!
It was a beautiful and quiet location. Some amenities lacked, which cause us to not be able to clean as efficiently as we would have liked. Things like Kleenex, dish soap, broom, would have been nice included in the fee. Also the carpenter bees were TERRIBLE. We couldn't walk in and out without getting swarmed!
Very nice cabin easy to get to but the view is not much.

The cabin was okay, like w/others in the past the couch & love seat were just not comfortable at all & that's disappointing when you're there a week. Upstairs mattress very hard - hurt my back. Cabin had cob webs & just very dusty every where. Had no broom that we could find, We will be back to the mountains for sure but will not stay at this cabin. Will try out something different.

Cute
did not like the location. Back porch was too high for me & didn't show that online. I'm afraid of heights. No parking area. Did not like where my car sit at. Wasn't listed on the web about that. I will not pick that location ever again.
I probably want be back to Gatlinburg for quite some time.
Thank You!
We only stayed 1 out of the 3 nights we booked the cabin since the AC wasn't working. Kids likes the hot tub, although the railing was loose and the deck is reeaally high up, not to mention a ton of carpenter bees. The pool table downstairs was a lot of fun, and the bathroom was spacious, although the shower is IN the jetted tub and there's no safety bar, so not ideal for young kids or older folks afraid of falling. In comparison, the bathroom upstairs is meant for one person at a time. My 6' husband had to sit sideways just to use the toilet. There is no ceiling over the upstairs bedroom, so it's not acoustically ideal for parents wanting "adult time." My son farted downstairs and I heard it upstairs like he was right beside me, so we forwent the jacuzzi. I like a firm mattress, but this one was rock hard and made for a sleepless night. A bear walking by the cabin was the best part. There were no linens for the pull out bed, but the rental company was quick to bring some by that first night. And when we realized the AC had failed on our second night they were quick to move us to another (much nicer) cabin for the rest of our stay. I would not stay at this property again, nor recommend it to others, however the rental company was top notch and I'd go through them again. Make sure to stop by the office, they'll give you parking vouchers for downtown Gatlinburg and have a great list of nearby restaurants and grocery stores. Property: 2/10Parkside Cabin Rentals: 10/10
I’ll start with the bad:
1. The beds are absolutely horrible. No exaggeration, but the worst mattress I’ve ever tried to sleep on. After the first day I slept on the couch. It was that bad.
2. Advertised as being 3 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. More like 20.
3. Wi-Fi was horrible but who cares right? My daughter did but it’s not that big of an issue.
Good things:
Very nice cabin, awesome bathtubs and a nice hot tub. Pool table in one of the rooms. Nice and quiet. Overall a nice experience. If they had better beds it would have been 4 stars
We’ve stayed in a few other cabins, and this was definitely our least favorite experience. It’s in The right area/where we like to stay, and it was clean, but otherwise just not great. The bedroom upstairs doesn’t have a ceiling; it’s completely open, so if you have anyone sleeping there (kids who go to bed earlier than everyone else? Another couple wanting any kind of quiet or privacy?) you pretty much can't use the rest of the upstairs which is the kitchen and living room (also the door to go out to hot tub) without disturbing. Also—there is no door for the downstairs bedroom, it just goes down the stairs and you’re in it. So one bedroom doesn’t have a ceiling and the other doesn’t have a door. The internet does not have enough bandwidth to even send and receive text messages, so streaming anything to watch was out of the question. The bedroom downstairs is FREEZING. there are heaters, which do help, but still cold. The kitchen needs double the dishes and silverware; for example, there were only three spoons and three bowls.
If you are planning on just sleeping here (and everyone going to bed at the same time or being okay with no privacy or with noise and light disturbances) but being gone doing other things and eating out the rest of the time, this would work just okay.
Hot tub and pull table are a big plus! Plenty of room. House is represented as it was online. This was our 2nd stay and we will definitely stay again in the future.
Overall had a great stay. Noticed a few things were very dirty. Found food on the pull out sofa, dishes were nasty, and hot tub was low on water, the back deck (very high up) the balcony ledge was VERY VERY loose.
We had an amazing time here, but the mattresses are god awful, it felt like we were sleeping on cinderblocks. The hot tub played a huge part in loosening up lol. But overall this cabin was in a great location, my family enjoyed themselves.
Pillows too small. Not enough storage for clothes in upstairs bedroom. Needs a dresser at least.
Lots of cobwebs. Minor stuff but could be perfect with a few changes.
Very beautiful cabin in the hills. We loved eating breakfast on the covered porch. Although there was a hottub we did not use it. We did use the pool table downstairs. Very nice for the money.

Cabin review
Our stay was great our only complaints were that the people never contacted me back when I reached out with questions. Also the cabin could have used some extra utensils in the kitchen. Overall a great place to stay.

Great Location, But a Dark and Dirty place to stay,, Lousy internet strength. ALL the TV's have different controls and service with no instructions on how to use......Did I mention Dirty !!!!
Upon arrival, we were given no direction on how to enter the cabin before check in time. Had to call the number when we arrived to the cabin and that’s when we were told we had to go to the office (3 miles away) first. Once we entered the cabin, it looked as pictured, but after being there a few hours, we realized it was not thoroughly cleaned. There was coffee grinds still in the coffe maker from the prior tenant. The pullout couch downstairs had dirt all over the sheets. There were not extra towels and the towels that were available had hairs on them. There were little caterpillars crawling on the walls and floors. The shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom was covered in what looked like mold. The shower was just overall dirty. There was also a bottle of something (didn’t want to pull it out) floating in the hot tub when we went to open it. The curb appeal and location of this cabin was great, though!
Cabin was in good shape, the appliances need some work. Big problem was lower ded room shower is in the juzzie, very unsafe one of our family took what could have been serious.
The property was very accurate to the listing online. Wasn't far from the strip. Hot tub and pool table were a hit with the teens. Overall loved the cabin and the location would stay there again with my family.
This place is a close drive to everything you want to do while also being tucked away. You do have neighbors but there was space between cabins and I never heard or saw them. There are only 4 cabins there so it’s not too crowded. We saw a lot of wildlife around the cabin which I loved!
The only thing I would like to say is they could use some new couches and beds. The couches were cozy and soft but worn in and the beds weren’t super comfy. The squeezed with every move and the pillows were small.
I liked the complementary washing detergent but the dryer took 2 rounds to dry clothes fully so give yourself plenty of time when doing a load of laundry!
