We had a lovely 3rd stay at Neil and Cynthia’s place. It is perfect for families, they were so incredibly kind and thoughtful, and they were very responsive!
Would be 5 stars as the cleanliness and amenities are wonderful, but no mention of pets in home. At least 2 dogs and likely 1 or more cats. Had a family member very, very allergic to cats. Immediately sent message asking if cat in home and never received a reply. Luckily had enough funds to get that family member a hotel for the stay. Even a pet in a home that doesn't have regular access to living space can be a dangerous issue of not listed. This property all over was so clean. Just please list pets in residence.
The lower level is spacious and well maintained. Hosts have thought of many nice touches to make us feel at home. We particularly enjoyed having a full kitchen.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Neil's place in Freeport and it was the perfect fit for us again. Everything was clean and welcoming. Keep in mind that there is a family living upstairs so you can hear them, but that didn't bother us at all as we have a toddler! Thanks Neil and Cynthia!
This was the perfect place to stay in Freeport! It was beautiful and was so clean that it felt like we were the first to stay there. It had everything we needed and SO much room, which was great as we were staying with a toddler. There is a family living above, which you could occasionally hear during the day, but it didn’t bother us at all! We would stay here again in a heartbeat and likely will next time we visit family!
The VRBO was very spacious and comfortable with many amenities. The communication with the owner was prompt. We did have a few issues. When we arrived, there was a yellowish puddle/mess on the floor in the bathroom. It looked as if the family puppy had tinkled on the floor. In addition, there is a family living upstairs and it was very noisy at times. You could hear conversations (Mom reprimanding children), loud footsteps, people up and down steps, and the puppy barking. If I would have read the reviews more thoroughly, this would have been very apparent. But I was in a hurry when I booked the VRBO. There was also a small stain on one of our pillow cases that looked like a bloody nose stain. Finally, when we were dressed up and leaving for our event on Friday night, their puppy was loose in the yard. He jumped up on me and got paw prints on my dress clothing and I was afraid he would knock over my 88 year old father who is not a fan of dogs. The owner did apologize for the puppy getting loose. For the most part, our stay was comfortable. The area was spacious, comfortable and clean...apart from the above mentioned issues. I would recommend trying to sound proof the basement a bit to reduce the noise level.
We had a nearly perfect stay in the lower level/walkout basement of this beautiful home. The bed in the main bedroom was absolutely phenomenal! So comfortable that I’m now looking for the same model of bed to purchase for myself. Very clean and had everything we needed. The only negative thing was being below the living space of where a family with young children lives. It was somewhat noisy. We could hear the loud footsteps of small children above us, one time at 10pm when trying to fall asleep. But it didn’t last long so ended up not being a huge deal. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Spacious basement walkout, very well appointed and in nice neighborhood. Host responsive and helpful to any questions and certain issues. The downsides were 1) noise from activity upstairs (children, pet) that travels through the floor as well as the door at the top of the basement stairway, 2) no separate temperature control so when the AC runs, it makes the area very cold (basements are generally cool year round); additional blankets are provided, and 3) TV is limited to four (4) subscription/streaming channels. Currently no access to real-time programming including local/national news, sports, etc. If you can get past these three items, it's a good option.
Great space, roomy and comfortable. Equipped with everything you need. Very cleanly. Good location in town with nice neighborhood. With it being a basement space, you could hear noise from main floor into the evening.
