Respite in the Woods
This is a lovely one-room camp nearby the Black Warrior River. It’s about an hour from Meridian and Tuscaloosa, with T-Town the closer of the two. It’s peaceful, beautiful and quiet. The space itself is cozy, clean and exceedingly well stocked. Jackie, the host, is unerringly dedicated to making everything perfect. The neighboring properties are a bit less scenic, but if you came for peace, quiet and solitude, that’s hardly a concern. There’s a little bait shop at the turn off the highway that doubles as a bit of a honky tonk. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend this place and this host. Top notch!

Fishing trip
This property was just what we needed for a few days of fishing. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was convenient to the boat launch. The kitchen was perfect for frying up our catch. We'll be back!

Beautiful Home
The house is beautiful, very clean, decorated beautifully. We requested an iron and board, and the host was gracious enough to supply it that evening. It was so hot when we visited. I'm sure, had it been cooler, we would have also enjoyed the outside of the property.

About the host

Hosted by Jackie Setser

Host profile image
My husband and I host this property together. We live in Tuscaloosa and have been married for 20 years. We have 2 children, one in college and one in elementary. We purchased a camper the summer of 2021 and have really enjoyed traveling and enjoying the outdoors.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property because we saw the potential in it to be at peace surrounded by nature. We completely renovated to a standard we knew everyone could enjoy and appreciate. We love staying here when it's not being rented. There are so many nearby opportunities to boat, fish, swim, eat and just relax.
