Welcome to Riverrun Retreat—your private waterfront escape in Belhaven!

This spacious home accommodates 12 guests and features stunning views, a private dock, kayaks, a fire pit, and a grill. Spend your days boating, fishing, swimming, or exploring nearby Bath and local ferries to the Outer Banks. Evenings are for sunsets, s’mores, and relaxation.

With comfort and adventure in every direction, your perfect riverside getaway awaits!

Welcome to your private waterfront escape on the Pamlico Sound—perfect for families and groups seeking comfort, relaxation, and adventure! The home accommodates up to 12 guests in 4 bedrooms: two king rooms, one queen room, and a spacious upstairs bonus room featuring a king bed and semi-private partitions. A cozy kids’ room features two sets of bunk beds (top bunks for guests under 150 lbs.). Enjoy three full bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and a dining area that seats 6–7, plus bar seating for 4.

Step outside to breathtaking water views, a private dock with boat and jet ski lifts, and kayaks ready for your use. The water depth off the dock is about 5 feet—home to friendly dolphins, crabs, and sea life. Public boat ramps are nearby, and there’s a small on-site ramp suitable for light vehicles or smaller vessels.

Evenings are made for gathering around the waterfront firepit with swings and benches—ideal for sunset views or starlit nights. Please use the designated fire pit safely and fully extinguish fires after use.

You’ll find yourself surrounded by peaceful nature, friendly deer, and the occasional curious critter. Pack bug spray and sunscreen to enjoy this beautiful rural setting comfortably. Explore nearby Belhaven, Bath, and Washington—each offering charming waterfront dining, local shops, and authentic coastal Carolina experiences.

You will have the entire home to yourself! There is a small garage apartment underneath the home, which is private to the owners who do not live on the property but occasionally come by for repairs, to drop off supplies, or as a stopover on fishing trips.

Owners do have an apartment in the bottom of the property, but are not on-site when guests are staying.

We are located on a private drive with 3 other homes each on more than an acre. This is a very private location.

There is plenty of parking on site but please do not park to the right of the driveway (where the landscaping timbers are located).
We want you to have the most amazing experience at our property and, as such, we have created a beautiful oasis with so many experiences and activities to choose from. Please be mindful and cautious when using amenities to preserve their longevity and your safety!

We are on a septic system so please nothing but what exits your body and toilet paper in the toilets. NO diapers, wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, as well as your hopes and dreams shall be flushed please!

Please keep fires to within the firepit and make sure it is fully extinguished before you leave the area.

Please no smoking inside and dispose of any cigarette buts if you choose to smoke outside and take them away with you when you go.

BOAT RULES: Our boat launch only accommodates smalls boats and skiffs. If you have a larger boat please use Potters Marina it is only a two mile drive give or take and very close by water. PLEASE do not drive under the house to reach the launch instead only use the left side driveway to access the backyard and be mindful if the ground is wet. Use good judgment and please do not excessively damage our yard.

Absolutely no raging frat parties, keggers, Sunday Funday with 100 of your closest friends, etc. Things get damaged and you will have to pay to replace them. Plus people can get hurt and it annoys our neighbors (the few that we have).

After 10pm on weekdays and Sundays keep the pumping, thumping tunes to a reasonable decibel while outside. Fridays and Saturday feel free to kick it.

We are rural, we have bugs, bees, bears and all manner of biting insects not to mention the marine life. Make smart choices when you are outside and don`t forget your bug spray and sunscreen!

Use of outdoor equipment and waterfront area: Guests assume all liability for their personal safety in the use and enjoyment of all outdoor activities including, but not limited to: kayaks, boating, swimming, fishing off the dock, swinging over the rocks, use and operation of the firepit, etc. Small children should be supervised around the water at all times and be wearing proper lifejackets, etc. Please have fun but PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Boat and Jet Ski Docking and use of lift: If you are bringing your boat (or renting one) PLEASE make sure you dock alongside the length of the dock and do not dock directly at the end of the dock. This will damage both our dock and your boat! The lifts are available for use at your own risk. Please make sure you know how to properly operate!

Cameras on the property: We DO have cameras on the outside of the property. The cameras are disclosed in our listing as required by Airbnb. These cameras were in place when we purchased the property and are there since we are a rural property. These are for everyone`s benefit. Tampering with these cameras are grounds for immediate termination of your stay without refund. The cameras are located at the front door (doorbell camera), facing the front driveway looking towards the main road, under the main house facing the garage apartment door, facing back door and looking out towards the dock. Cameras are typically turned off upon guest arrival, and we do not actively monitor them. Guests can request for the cameras to be left on for safety/security.

Late fee for check out: occasionally we can accommodate a later check out and our normal check out time is 10 AM. However, if a late check out is not requested and a guest stays past 10 AM we must charge a $50 fee to compensate our cleaner for their additional time.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

Host profile image
We started our short term rental property journey with a Villa in Costa Rica (Tamarindo) which was quickly followed by a second property there. My family is from North Carolina and we love being anywhere near or on the water (ocean, lake, river - we love it all). When traveling we love to relax, sample local cuisine, explore nature and immerse in the culture around us so we have tried to create these same experiences in our rentals.

Why they chose this property

Riverrun we fell in love with at first site. This property has so many incredible views all from the back porch. While staying here we see dolphins almost every days, we had a visit from a sea turtle recently, we love our crabby crab friends that hang out by our boat ramp too! If you are quiet in the morning the hummingbirds will come visit as well.

My husband and sons built the firepit, benches and swings by hand in August of 2022 right after we bought the property and it makes the most amazing sunset relaxation spot!

What makes this property unique

We tried to make sure since this property is rural and there is not an excess of activities and nightlife around us that we thought of many things to do so no one gets bored!!
