1918 Downtown Cary w/ 4BR+3BA ~ walk 2 new park shops breweries & restaurants!
Welcome to the Heart of Downtown Cary! Walk to everything Cary has to offer or hop in a car for quick access to Raleigh, Durham and RTP. You'll have room for the whole family or multiple families! This 1918 home has all of the old-world charm and some of the old-world amenities. You are just steps from the new Downtown Cary Park - this spot is amazing and offers so many amenities. The app won't let me add a link but a quick online search will show you how gorgeous the park really is. The house is equipped with cooking essentials as well as bathroom basics. 4Br: 1Q, 2 Singles, 1 King, 1 Full. 3 Baths (please read the bathroom descriptions - it's an OLD house y'all!). Large Yard, Firepit, Gravel Parking Lot, 2 Family Rooms. **NO PETS ALLOWED** House is older and a lot of the interior doors do not lock. The only TV in a bedroom is on the second floor. This has Chromecast. The Family Room TV has cable and a smart TV. Bathrooms are very original (small!!) PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER :) ***The dishwasher is not built-in as the plumbing to the house does not allow us to tap in! It has to be manually moved and connected to the kitchen faucet. Some guests find it easier to hand-wash :) If you are visiting on a Saturday, be sure to check out the Farmers Market on the other side of the park. There are often events on Academy Street just adjacent to the house with food trucks, music and more. We hope you love our not so little town as much as we do!

Property is an excellent location however it was not well equipped and not well maintained. Quality of kitchen and bathroom (towels, washcloths, etc) is low quality. Most importantly, exterior door locks do not work consistently.
The location of this property is perfect. We also enjoyed the outside areas. The house is clean and has plenty of room. The games were also a plus as we were visiting our college kids for parents' weekend. We will definitely look to book again.
This is the oldest house we have ever stayed at! But it is old in a very beautiful and charming way, like old wine. Located right at the heart of the Cary downtown, it is literary 5-7 min walk to any coffee shop or parks and playgrounds. Kids loved this place and now call it our yellow house:-)
We enjoyed staying in this historic home that was right by the Cary Downtown Park, arts center, restaurants and more. We loved Cary’s walkable downtown! The house was so close to everything. We walked every day (less than a block) to coffee, restaurants, downtown park and historic sites. House was charming, had all amenities we needed and plenty of space in ample bedrooms. Large outdoor space, games to enjoy inside and out. Owner was very responsive and took care of everything we needed! We highly recommend this historic home if you are visiting downtown Cary!
We were in town for a friends wedding in Cary. This was the perfect location for the event. We loved the charm of the house and town. There was plenty of room and we would love to stay again!
The location was fabulous and close to a lot. House was historic so obvious creaks and quirks that come with that. Limited outlet options. Doors and walls not real sound proof. Probably not a great fit for young children. Not much space to play outside and stairs are a bit steep/narrow. 2 showers were VERY small. 3rd shower was part of a clawfoot tub. Would not be ideal for elderly, people with disabilities or again small children. Better fit for adults or older children.
It's an old house with a mixed bag of furniture. But the location is unbeatable for activities in downtown Cary.
We had some difficulties with the upstairs A/C, but the landlord was very accommodating.
Visited Cary as part of attending the Penguins-Hurricanes hockey game over the holiday weekend.
Great location to the downtown park and shops. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Easy to get to PNC Arena for the game.
House was charming, clean, and as described with plenty of things to do - books, games, etc.
Great space for friends and family traveling together. Would definitely stay here again.
We used this house during our stay for the ESSZ age group sectional meet. It was fairly close to the swimming venue and it allowed us recuperation between sessions. It also allowed us to cook meals instead of going out to eat while competing. Plenty of space for our family.
We loved this neat property! It is an older house with lots of quirky charm, but outfitted for a family of today (read: three bathrooms). The backyard was great, lots of seating, parking, fire pit, and cafe lights. It was perfectly set up, with lots of space for everyone and was within easy walking distance to downtown Cary. A big perk were all the games that the house had to make it more fun for the kids. The only downside was it was a bit buggy, but that is to be expected in the summer in the south. We would definitely rent this again and recommend it to others.
Great location - could use some updating and attention.
This is an established home, built in 1910, so you have to expect some quirkiness - which I personally enjoy! The location was excellent - walking distance to DT Cary. Would be nice to have the back down opened by the smart code and not just the side and front doors. The yard could be SOOOOO amazing but just was not usable at all, even with the pollen.
We enjoyed our stay and will most likely rent again.

Cant put anything on the counter top since its butcher block thats not really sealed.
Dishwasher is not connected. We pulled everyti g out to hand wash. Upsrairs bed has loose screws, very loud and wobaly. Outlets are all 2 prong. Downstairs tv, i had to hook my laptop to use.
Overall.
I do recomend this spot, unique house with probaly the best location you will find.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming, historic cottage. The location is great: nice neighborhood, easy walk to the park, coffee shops, and restaurants in downtown Cary. The hosts are very responsive and communicative. The house was set up very nicely for family time, with plenty of room, great outdoor spaces, and fun games to play. The house was clean, well-stocked, and as pictured. We enjoyed it!
This home is located 1/2 block from the renovated downtown, Cary, NC, with outdoor stage (construction almost done), fantastic playground, Community Arts Center, giant public library, many wonderful restaurants, shops and even a knitting store. The town is walkable, safe, cute and inviting. This home is roomy with excellent beds, refrigerator, kitchen, and lots of games to play including a poker table. The home was roomy, and very comfortable. Outdoors, there is bocci ball and lots of comfortable seating. Further, the home owners were very welcoming and offered easy to understand instructions. We could not have has more fun. If we come through Raleigh again, we will certainly request to stay in this home again. It was wonderful. Thank you to the owners for sharing your lovely home with outstanding location. We are deeply appreciative.

Why they chose this property
We have loved Downtown Cary for 20+ years! We are so excited for the new park!
What makes this property unique
Our property was built in 1918. We don't know the actual history but we have bene told that it was a rooming house for teachers when Cary Elementary was a boarding school. The house is quirky and quaint. It's so convenient to everything Cary has to offer including the new Downtown Cary Park!
