Connect with family as you explore shady forests, open fields or rocky hillsides.Wildlife is abundant- you will almost certainly see deer, elk, hawks, bluebirds or wild turkeys, maybe even a moose! Enjoy evenings on the large screened porch or inside watching a movie on the 135" movie screen. Cooking for large groups will be a pleasure in the commercial kitchen. There is ample refrigerator/freezer space, 4 ovens, and large griddle as well as a commercial dishwasher which cleans a load of dishes in under 3 minutes! The kitchen is well-stocked with large pots and pans and numerous serving dishes and warmers. Other amenities include an ice machine and espresso maker.
The location is excellent! You'll turn off the highway and drive down a private, gated country road. Even though it is just a short distance from highway to property, you'll feel like you are a million miles from everything. The property is located between Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene, two of the most popular tourist towns in North Idaho. We are less than 15 minutes from the Northwest's largest theme/water park, Silverwood. Also within minutes is the town of Bayview and Farragut State Park. This is a spectacular 4000 acre park at the south end of Lake Pend Oreille, the state's largest (43 miles long) lake. It's also the deepest (at 1,158 feet deep, there are only four deeper lakes in the nation). It's got terrific scenery, clean water, big fish, and a fascinating history. Picnic areas and swimming holes, boat rentals, fishing charters, Frisbee golf as well as a Naval Museum can all be found around Farragut and Bayview. 30 minutes south of the property is the beautiful resort town of Coeur d'Alene, and 30 minutes north is Sandpoint, home to Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort and the Sandpoint Music Festival. Both towns have antiquing, golfing, great restaurants, shopping and lots of wonderful summer and winter activities.

Northern Idaho was delightful ànd Carrie's property was pristine. It has everything we needed and more.
There were 29 in our extended family, ages 6 to 84 We went biking on the Hiawatha trail, hiking at Tubbs park and kayaking at Farragut State park. We went to the Saturday market in Heybern.
This is our second time staying here as a family of 30. We have been reuniting every 18 months for 30 years. This is the first destination we have chose the second stay at.There was a lot of maintenance going on there every day (outdoor lighting that took over 7 hrs, pump repair, etc), and we do have some "stranger danger" family members that were not happy about that at all. In addition to "outsiders" having access while we were there, at times their machinery noise woke napping toddlers.Overall, we loved being there. The home and grounds are amazing!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback and for choosing our property for your family’s special reunion—not once, but twice! We’re thrilled to hear that this is the first destination you’ve selected for a repeat stay in 30 years of gatherings, and that you and your group of 30 loved the home and grounds overall. It’s always rewarding to know we’ve created a space where families can create lasting memories. Keeping the grounds and house in tip-top shape when it is used every week by family groups of 30-40 people requires a Herculean amount of work and maintenence. The work required to keep the house and grounds lovely under that kind of use, is never ending! However, that’s the last thing we want you to think about during your vacation, and we really try to manage it in ways that won’t impact our guests.
We truly appreciate you highlighting the maintenance concerns from your vantage point, as it helps us continue improving the guest experience. The work mentioned was indeed outdoors, focused on enhancing the property’s safety and enjoyment. The new lighting system is being designed by a reputable professional to make evenings feel even more secure and inviting on our expansive, wooded grounds. We had anticipated a shorter visit for measurements, but we apologize again for the unexpected full-day installation and any disruption it caused.
The well pump repair was an urgent, unforeseen issue to ensure uninterrupted water access for your group’s cooking, showers, and daily needs. We do not have city water. The fact that you did not experience an interruption is only because we have cisterns that hold a couple days worth of water in the case of a pump failure. But fixing it was urgent. Rest assured, no workers ever have access to your private door code, which each family selects for added peace of mind and security.
We understand that with a large group including little ones and those sensitive to “stranger danger,” unexpected activity and noise outside can be unsettling, and for that we are very sorry. Your input is invaluable, and we’ll use it to better communicate and schedule such essential tasks in the future to minimize any impact.
It would be a pleasure to welcome your family back for a third reunion. We love hosting our many “regulars”. We are constantly working to make improvements so that each stay is better than the last.
Our family held a week-long family reunion at the Cider Mountain lodge with 32 people (of all age ranges) in early June.
The venue was perfect for our family. The commercial kitchen is well stocked and intimidating (in a good way) and there was plenty of space for the family around the lodge for us to spread out and enjoy each others company without feeling too cramped.
Corrie and Chris (the owners) went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
The venue was a great value and we'd definitely stay there again.
The house and cabins are clean and comfortable. The industrial kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans and cooking utensils to feed a crowd. There are nice large gathering spaces indoors and out and a beautiful property. Large lawn for games, beautiful forest and meadows and wild flowers everywhere. We had a wonderful time. Chris and Corrie were great hosts
We are a large family group and found this property that would accommodate us all. The kitchen was amazing so we were able to feed, refrigerate, cook and cleanup quickly. The 2 minute dishwasher was terrific!!!
All the bedrooms and cabins were nicely decorated and more than enough bathrooms for our large group.
Outside was great for games and gatherings.
Owners were very responsive and could be quickly contacted.
We enjoyed our time at this beautiful venue.
Thank You

We held our annual Parent Leadership Development Institute here, and it was a perfect setting for our group. The main house had two indoor locations for us to provide presentations - the theater room and the main living room area. The dining room and breakfast bar area was super for our large group of twelve people. The cabins and grounds were absolutely wonderful for outdoor activities. And the kitchen...the KITCHEN was a dream. Everyone of us would like a commercial dishwasher in our own homes now! We had a fantastic time and we highly recommend!
Our family (35 in all) gathered to celebrate my mom’s 72nd birthday. We had a fabulous time! There was plenty of outdoor space for the little kids to explore, a large lawn for the volleyball net that my brother brought and even space for two cornhole games.
Corey was so accommodating! She allowed the caterers, who showed up an hour before check-in time, to get setup. She checked in a few different times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. And when the dishwasher stopped working on Sunday morning, she responded right away. Fortunately, her guard was able to get it working.
This place is set up for entertaining and gathering, all in a beautiful location. We would recommend this place to any of our friends or family.
This is an amazingly beautiful place with lots of room to roam. There was a well stocked kitchen, a hot tub, cute cabins, a game room, and even a theater. Everything was super clean and communication with the owner was simple. Only down falls or things to consider are:
1. Bring your own tissues. Currently there was only one box in the theater. I have allergies, so always keep tissues on hand.
2. Toilet paper was the extra thin stuff. It felt like you had to use half a roll just to get the job done.
3. They could have had a few more small trash cans around.
These are just small things. This really is a great place to stay!

Toilet paper has been difficult to procure in the amounts I need for the lodge! I’m so sorry about the thin stuff. I feel that individually wrapped toilet paper rolls are the most sanitary, but there wasn’t a lot of choices! I try to buy from Costco, but it’s hard to get enough there to supply the lodge! Cash and Carry in CDA has only had the one- ply in the individually wrapped rolls most of this year. It’s awful! But all I could get.
This property was absolutely PERFECT for our family gathering!! We had 18 adults and 4 kids, ranging in ages 3 months to 6 years old. We had lots of space for all of us to spread out, families had their own rooms/cabins with their own bathrooms.. Lots of areas to gather as a whole group, eat together, play games, etc. and yet we all had our space to have some quiet time/ take naps, etc. The owners have everything you will need provided ~ they have thought of everything!! It's so comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Very clean with comfortable bed and furniture throughout. I can't say enough about the commercial kitchen! It is amazing!! We took turns cooking meals and I found myself hanging out in the kitchen just so I could help clean up and use the dishwasher! Very well supplied kitchen, for sure! The outdoor space is great too. A large patio to gather and barbeque if you want. A couple of us performed a dance on the stage, we took walks on the country road, it was just a magical place! You feel like you are way out in the country in the woods, it's so quiet and peaceful but it's only a short drive into the town of Athol. My entire family agreed that this was the perfect place for our special gathering. We will make it a priority to gather here again! The hosts were great ~ very attentive when we needed them for questions, but not intrusive! The host/owners are excellent ~ they know what their guests need and how to treat them.
We had such a great experience at this location. We had a family reunion which 31 people attended. There were plenty of beds, rooms and bathrooms for all. The teens enjoyed staying in the bunk room. Grandma and Grandpa got to enjoy the beautiful master suite and families that needed a little more seclusion could happily stay in one of the cabins. The property was clean, there were tons of things to do both on the property and around it, the owners were easy to work with and the setting was beautiful. We were very pleased with the entire experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion at Cider Mtn. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen is amazing and we’ll stocked. The owners were attentive and caring, even setting up all sorts of yard activities for the kids! We’ll be back for sure!!
We were a family reunion of 19 (only 2 kids under 10). This place could not have been better, Perfect place for a family reunion in the country. The commercial kitchen was well stocked, in fact everything was well stocked. The beautiful lawn was perfect for lawn games. Corrie and Chris - thank you!!!
Perfect place for a wedding, lots of nice touches - they thought of everything!!! Beautiful and beyond expectations!!
The weather turned on our family reunion the house was large enough to accommodate the large group indoors
The younger children have plenty of indoor activities and everyone loved the kitchen
The pictures do not do this place justice, absolutely amazing! Lots of room for everyone to hang out, and still cozy enough to feel like you're home. All ages were accommodated in every way. Everyone insists we do it again. Most amazing hosts!
We stayed at this property for a youth winter camp. The property was clean and well kept. The kitchen was more than enough for all our food preparation. Was a great overall experience and would highly recommend.
This place was great, and Corrie was great to work with. Her communication was great. Usually responded the same day that I called or texted her, and was very kind in response to any needs or requests I had.
The lodge and cabins were exceptionally clean when we arrived. There were the exact amenities as were described, plus Corrie went out of her way to accommodate us with a few extra things that weren't on the amenities list before - a large coffee dispenser/percolator, some music equipment when ours was faulty or we forgot something. She also purchased a small trailer which she offered us to use for a few of our extra people to sleep in. We had more people than originally planned, and Corrie was very flexible with this.
Our cooks thought the commercial kitchen was a perfect set up to work with.
All of our students had plenty of space to hangout between the theatre room, the lounge, the billiard room, the screened in porch, etc. Big enough for everyone to have somewhere to go, but not so big that you can't find people.
Altogether, a great experience.
Thank you!
Large & lovely ranch home. We also rented the 3 cabins next to the house. It has a warm comfy feeling with many rooms that people can spread out. Great industrial kitchen! Chris met us & gave use a tour & explained a few details. Outside deck & grass area made it easy to spend time outdoors.. We were lucky to catch some of the beautiful fall colors. Easy access from the highway with a very private feeling. We had a wonderful time!
The amenities at this property were amazing. Huge common area with sofas, large dining table, card tables, and two-sided bar type seating, unbelievable kitchen facilities, movie theatre room, pool table room, poker table room, outdoor picnic dining area with great grill(s), outdoor whirlpool, etc. Only a little bit inconvenient to get to...about 2 to 3 miles off the main highway on a blacktop type road that's a little rough in places. 10 minutes from grocery store...15 minutes from Silverwood Water Park. Nice lawn area for younger kids to kick a soccer ball, throw a frisbee, etc. Owners were very helpful and accessible. All rooms were excellent quality, and 3 separate cabins for "overflow" from the main facility. Might not be right for a group of 10 or so, but perfect for 20 to 35.
We gather at VRBO once a year and all over the world including Kauai, St. Thomas and Whistler Canada. This retreat is now on our list as “ one of the best!”
This was our 5th family reunion at Cider Mountain and was as wonderful as the previous 4. Chris and Corrie are great to work with. Everything was clean and in good order. They did considerable remodeling since our last reunion 2 years ago. Our family particularly enjoys the soccer field and the institutional dishwasher, but every aspect of the facility works well for us.
We used the facility to host marriage retreats and it is a perfect place to break out the groups in comfy areas. Great commercial kitchen for prepping meals! Decorated very warm and cozy. The owners are very helpful and accommodating!

About the host
Hosted by Corrie Phillips
We've lived on this property for 20 years. We have a separate residence on the property which is near enough for us to lend a hand if you have questions, and far enough away that you'll never see us if you don't!
Why they chose this property
The area has so much to do! Great stuff for families. Skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Fishing, wakeboarding and huckleberry picking in summer, and hunting in the fall. Both Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint have thriving downtowns with unique shopping, antiquing, art galleries, restaurants and live music.
What makes this property unique
One of the most unique benefits of the property is that it really is out in the country, and yet only a few minutes from a huge theme park. The adjacent recording studio also makes the property unique.
