About this property

Mediterranean stone cottage in the heart of the Zichron Moshava

The Zichron Yaacov Loggia, or lodge, is a beautiful, renovated 100-year old stone cottage, in the heart of the historic centre of Zichron Yaacov. The cottage is set in a tranquil and luxuriant Mediterranean garden, brimming with organically-grown vegetables, herbs, grapes, pomegranates, olives, figs, passion fruit and climbing roses, to name just a few. Guests are invited to sample for themselves any of the garden's produce.

The cottage can accommodate up to eight people comfortably: a couple in a Queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, two single beds in the spacious second bedroom If you need more room, the cottage has an additional very large third bedroom which has both an inter-connecting door to the second bedroom, as well as its own external door going straight out to the garden. This extra room can made available for your use for an extra fee on request and can accommodate up to 4 extra guests in single beds. The Loggia is air-conditioned throughout and in addition all bedrooms have ceiling fans and blackout blinds. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with full size electric oven, 4 electric burners, microwave, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother.. Special arrangements can be made for shabbat-observant families: we provide a Shabbat kettle, hot plate, candles and timers on request. A washing machine, ironing facilities and of course free high speed Wi-Fi, are also provided.

Guests may take a gentle 5-minute stroll into town to enjoy Zichron's charming and relaxed atmosphere, with its many cafes, boutiques, restaurants and wine-bars, as well as the historic Aronson House and Museum, Ohel Yaacov synagogue and Museum, and the First Aliyah Museum. In addition, tours are available in English of the two local wineries - the Carmel Mizrachi Winery and the Tishbi Winery. The glorious beaches of Hof Dor and HaBonim (a Nature Parks Authority nature reserve) are a few minutes drive away. Windsurfing, supping, catamaran, sailing and paragliding are all available and scuba diving can be found among the ancient ruins of Caesarea, 15 minutes south of Zichron.

The train station is an easy 7 minute drive from Zichron, with fast and direct trains to Tel Aviv and Haifa (30 minutes) and Ben Gurion Airport (50 minutes) from Binyamina.

Beautiful, tranquil escape

My family and I loved this property. It was clean, quiet, and had two things absolutely necessary in Israel: good AC and easy parking. This home is not very handicapped accessible and that unfortunately was an issue for us due to an injury. It’s up a hill and over rocks. We managed, but it was hard. Once in, though, it was easy to move about. This guest house is a good size for a couple or a small family. If you have more than three kids, or if any of those kids are very active, it may not be for you. We were cozy and comfortable, and my kids enjoyed their room. If you have early risers, though, consider bringing paper blackout shades for the kids’ bedroom. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and I recommend the property!

Excellent for our requirements

Delighted rustic style cottage with all mod cons in a quiet area of Zichron Yaakov. Property owners most helpful via e-mail and over the phone, although they were away when we stayed. They have a dog called Hershy whom we never had the pleasure of encountering, much to our relief! Factor in that it's difficult lugging luggage into the property via the stunning garden over the pebbles. The strictly kosher kitchen with Shabbat kettle and hotplate were appreciated, but be aware that only dairy/parev food is allowed on the premises. We would come again!

Exceptional property made for a very memorable visit

This stone cottage truly is remarkable. I travel often for work and pleasure and it is a rare occurrence when a property is even better than the photos and descriptions. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed with highest quality comforts like a great coffee maker and fabulous bedding and towel, fast wifi and great cable tv. Everything you need is there. We cooked a Hanukkah feast and had every utensil and item we needed! The configuration of the cottage is also great with the 2 bedrooms on opposite ends of the house and a very comfortable living /dining space in between. And the garden, with its herbs and lemon trees was spectacular. It is also an easy walk into the center of Zichron with its history and lovely shops. All of this created a wonderful place for me to visit with my nephews and their wives and to celebrate the birth of each of their firstborn children as well as Hanukkah and my birthday ! Since their father, my brother, passed away in 2010, I have visited Israel each year to see them and have stayed in various places. Trying to create a family atmosphere in rental properties , once a yea,r is difficult. But, this cottage in Zichron was perfect. It will likely be our go to rental from now on. And a restaurant tip! The Nili Wine House in the center of town is fantastic for breakfast and we also did take out Sushi ( Kosher) that was fabulous. And,they have a great selection of wines to take home also. I highly recommend spending time in this beautiful city and making this stone cottage home while you are there.

Wonderful Cottage Tucked Away in Zichron Yaakov

My husband and I were fortunate to stumble upon this wonderful Cottage just a few blocks from the main walking street in Zichron Yaakov. We spent a comfortable month in the Cottage. The gardens around the Cottage offer the privacy a visitor needs. And the Cottage is well equipped with the basic necessities: kitchen, laundry, Internet, TV, air conditioning in addition to being nicely decorated. The owner of the Cottage is very accommodating and responds to any requests in a very timely manner. I would recommend staying here when you visit Zichron Yaakov.

Above and beyond

My husband and I fell in love with Zichron Ya'acov, and much of the magic had to do with our charming cottage and garden in a beautiful, private and quiet setting. We were able to walk to town, and our host, Joanna was a very helpful "concierge" , very willing and able to give advise regarding travel, restaurants, shopping, etc. She was also very accessible when we had any requests or questions. I only hope, given all of the great reviews, that there will be availability when we wish to return!

Better than amazing

Everything about this place was amazing. The place had ample space, the bedroom was stunning, the decor was fantastic. We had the most amazing, peaceful time. The owners were only too happy to help when asked. Set back from the road it was lovely and quiet.

Perfect place!

For our vacation we searched for a place that would accommodate a family of five with sufficient space for our kids (2,5,9) and us, and that would be a good base for traveling around. This villa was just perfect. The rooms are spacious, it's quiet, clean and full of air and light. The smell of the flowers and herbs was dazzling, and the location superb. We strolled to the restaurants in the Main Street of Zikhron yaakaov, drove 5-15 minutes to two great hiking tracks, and enjoyed half a day in Haifa as well. Our kids enjoyed the place tremendously and had sufficient from to play on the living room and in the patio, and enjoyed having our tea and hearing the gentle sound of the water in the small fish pond. Ideal as a base for traveling in the north of Israel and especially in the Carmel area. We will definitely come back

Wonderful stay

This cottage was exactly as advertised! Extremely comfortable and well appointed - everything we needed for our stay. There were 6 of us and we never felt cramped. The gardens were amazing and we enjoyed just sitting on the porch looking at all the varieties of the flowers and plants. Joanna was the perfect hostess with seeing to our every need. And the location was great too with a short walk to the center of town. You can't go wrong staying here.

Excellent place. Loved it!

We came to Israel to visit with family. Families being families, it was also important for us to have a place that we felt was our own. Initially, we took a different property which was more low-end. We didn't feel comfortable inviting people over. We were also bummed by a number of issues. Eventually, we decided that our happiness was more important than the trouble of switching a place. In retrospect, a very good decision! This place is just gorgeous. Keep in mind, this was middle of winter and still the garden was wonderful and we felt very at home. The place itself is an old, converted farmhouse, very good taste in the layout and interior design. The owner was very nice and accommodating as well. The things to know: 1. We couldn't find room to store our many suitcases (there was enough room for the contents). The owner stored them for us at her own office. 2. The shower is a curtained area with a low barrier on the floor. You need to accept that it's not enclosed. Personally, I would have preferred if it was enclosed, but not a big deal. 3. TV is a small CRT. Surprisingly, it was just fine given the layout of the living room. 4. Getting heavy suitcases all the way to the room takes a bit of an effort (need to go up an incline, some stairs and a short gravel walkway). Make sure you're ok with it or plan to have someone help you. Maybe the owner can help find someone if there's a need. Otherwise, they have 3 A/Cs, so everyone can get their way. Furniture is very comfortable and in good taste. Sheets and towels are of very good material. There's a bunch of supplies already there that you can use. Not to mention the fairly short walk to Zichron's midrachov, the touristy center of the town with plenty of shops and places to eat. I recommend the 'HaNadiv', especially because they deliver. There's plenty of parking on the street if you have a car. We had a wonderful time and are set on coming back on our next visit.

Great Base for Northern Israel

My family and I recently spent two nights at this lovely stone cottage in Zichron Yaakov. The cottage itself was spacious, inviting and well equipped; the beds in particular were quite comfortable. The cottage is surrounded by a peaceful garden that is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. We would definitely return to this property for our next visit to Israel. The hosts were very accommodating to our every needs and eagerly answered our questions about Zichron Yaakov and environs. They suggested a one-day trip of a nearby artist colony, Druze village and the ancient port city of Akko, which was a delightful excursion. Other nearby attractions include the Roman ruins at Caesaria and the gardens at Baron de Rothschild's mausoleum. In all, our stay at the cottage was even better than we imagined. I give it the highest recommendation.

Thank goodness for the A/C!

We were very happy with our stay in Zichron. The cottage is very cute. The cottage is basically a straight line with 3 sections. In the middle is the kitchen/dining/living room. On each end is a bedroom. The bathroom is in the hallway. It is very cute, and the garden is nice, too. The only negative is that you have to drag luggage up the driveway and over some steps.Since we travel with very young children, this was a small inconvenience. With older kids or for a couple, it would not matter. We were there during a heatwave and fortunately the A/C worked well. The walk is short to the main restaurant strip and we had a lovely time using it as a launch pad for day trips.

Exceeded expectations

Lovely apartment. Exceeded expectations even with all the nice photos on the web. Plenty of room for 7 (myself, spouse, 4 kids, and an infant). The detached structure is elegantly decorated and recently designed. Everything was fresh and modern. The owner was away but a friend of the owner was available and very helpful with local questions . . Owner was very accomodating in terms check-in check-out time to help us address logistical issues with out luggage. Its on a residential street but within walking (5-10 minutes) distance of many attractions (the pedestrian mall, the wineries, stores and restuarants, several local museums, supermarket). We were a bit apprehensive using VRBO (private rental) but had and excellent experience and plan to use this site again when we travel in the future.

Good experience at cottage in Zichron Yaakov

We stayed at the cottage for two weeks in April and had a very pleasant experience. Accommodation was excellent, house was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The garden was a joy. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, in proximity to the main street with cafes and shopping. Our special requests were answered immediately, and we would stay there again. Take into account that israeli showers are such that you will need to use the squeegee mop to clear the water that pools on the bathroom floor. Access to cottage includes steps, and steep driveway, difficult for person with walking disability. Bottom line, If you are looking for a quiet, and relaxing experience this is the place.

Beautiful guesthouse

My husband and I stayed in the guesthouse for one week in January. The surrounding area is beautiful and has a great place to walk with shops and restaurants. It is also in a great location for traveling up and down the coast. The house is very clean and very comfortable. We did have a bit of trouble with the washer simply because it was European and we weren't used to it, so beware! Joanna very helpful, offering to dry my sons clothes (uniforms) so he could get back to his base on time. We hope to stay again sometime.

we just came back from Israel, and we really enjoyed our stay in Zichron. The cottage is charming, comfortable and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The owners made sure we'd have everything needed to be comfortable (we have a baby). we plan to go back, and i would definetly recommend this place.

Cottage in Zichron Yaakov

My husband and I and our infant son stayed in this beautiful cottage for about two weeks last fall. It was so beautiful, very comfortable and quiet. This was an excellent location from which to visit friends throughout the country, while still having a peaceful place to come back to. When travelling with a child, the laundry and the kitchen were a huge help. The only issue is that there is a long walkway and some stairs on the way to the cottage and you can't drive the car closer, so if you have a lot of luggage it is a bit of a shlep. You should also be aware that it is in the backyard of a family home. We were a bit disappointed that the family was not quite as friendly as we may have wished, but perhaps they were trying to give us some privacy. We plan on returning to stay here again when we are next in Israel, and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially with children.

Could not have had a better experience

My husband and I stayed in the cottage while visiting the town for a family function. The cottage was clean, quiet, had excellent air conditioning, charming ambiance, and a functional kitchen. The property is on a hill and there is an upward sloping driveway plus about seven stairs, but very easy for those hardy enough for this amount of exertion to negotiate. The garden is beautiful, and we could easily walk to the most interesting parts of Zichron. I would stay there again for our next trip. We did not use the second bedroom, but it would be very comfortable for both children or teens.

Delighted with our choice to say here!

This property is a great stone cottage with great hosts. It was everything we could have wanted for our stay in Israel. A beautiful house with a beautiful garden, its location allowed us to easily visit locations all over Israel, yet also find time to enjoy the wonderful historic town of Zichron Yaacov, its cafes and wineries and its lovely local character. It is also just minutes from multiple beaches.

Relaxing, wonderful get away!

My husband and I love to stay at this cottage in Zichron. We use it as a restful getaway to relax and recharge. The cottage has everything - its spacious, and clean and its set in a beautiful garden with chairs to sit and enjoy the green. We also like to walk around the neighborhood streets to see the foliage and look at views of the ocean. It is shabbat friendly, so its a nice place to spend a quiet shabbat. Joanna is very organized and friendly and can accomodate different needs. Its centrally located, but removed enough that its quiet. I wish we could go more often! I highly recommend this property.
