As soon as I saw the building on Vrbo I knew I had to visit it. Slightly pricey for my purse but since we ate all meals in (my preference) the vacation as a whole was very reasonable. The location is perfect if you enjoy hiking and the home is clean and comfortable. I loved having so much space to relax (and dance) in. Such an enjoyable weekend getaway destination.
This fall our trip brought us to the Berkshires. One of our reasons for choosing this property was the location to Mt. Greylock, which is literally up the road. Also the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail is just a couple miles from this property also. We liked the unique idea of staying at a nearly 200 year old school house. The school room on the main level is rich with local history. The property owner is right next door and is very helpful with any issue. There are plenty of local restaurants including Dunkin if you need your fix.
I thoroughly enjoyed the natural light coming through the windows and the color of the drapery enhanced it even more. The scenery surrounding the stone house was serene and generous with the color of fall. I kept thinking of my grandmother teaching in the same type of setting years ago. I went right for the ruler, tapped it a few times on the desk and dinged the bell a bit more, as my eyes gravitated to the blueberry photograph many times. I wished for more time to linger. Minutes to Mt. Greylock, food, and shopping. Enjoy!
The Stone Schoolhouse was great! The perfect space upstairs. The location felt peaceful and remote while at the same time being close by everything you need. The hosts have done an excellent job of preserving the history of the building. I would recommend it as a place to stay for anyone planning a stay in the Berkshires
We love staying at the school house. The location is ideal for our travels (Pittsfield, Stockbridge, Northampton, Bennington). Everything was neat and tidy and the kitchen area is perfect for cooking small meals. We were warm and comfortable even though it was chilly outside.

Fantastic stay. Hosts thought of everything. Very quiet and a charming space. Great access to the mountain, as well.
Our second stay at the school. It is absolutely perfect, near to everything and has every amenity needed (even for the miniature ponies across the street)
We spent three nights in the Stone Schoolhouse, hiking, visiting The Clarke, and enjoying a lovely evening concert at Tanglewood. Convenient location for seeing the Berkshires, unique quarters and friendly hosts. Highly recommend!
Such a cute old schoolhouse full of antiques. I loved staying in such a historical building. Host had great communication and lots of helpful tips. Thanks for sharing with us.
Great cottage, pretty much at the foot of Mount Greylock - very spacious and comfortable - in the country but close to many of the towns of the Berkshires - the hosts Cheryl and Rich were very kind and informative about the area -thank you Cheryl and Rich - I hope to return sometime -
We had a great stay- no complaints! Very close to Jiminy Peak, where we were skiing, and the house was very comfortable. Thank you!

Amazing historical property in the heart of the Berkshire countryside with tons of charm and beauty. Helpful and accommodating hosts. Will definitely return!
The property was very comfortable, nicely decorated, with good amenities. Downstairs is an historic school room from the 1800s; upstairs is the main living space. It's in a nice area, convenient to Mt. Greylock, close to lots of attractions. The owners were easy to reach and very nice.We highly recommend this property.
