UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860's canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store.
You will now find a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room, and a bedroom with a queen size bed. The apartment has Direct TV as well as high speed internet.
This charming 3rd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars.
There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need.
Roscoe Village is a very walkable area - once you've parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. The host will send you an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you've booked.
Downtown Coshocton is 2 minutes, Kid's America 10 minutes, Clary Gardens 3 minutes, Lake Park 5 minutes, West Lafayette and Warsaw 10 minutes. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village.
You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor.
The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600's and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment.
Be sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment (at 432 N Whitewoman St) for additional recommendations. There are other apartments in the building, so general conscientiousness is expected. Lock door behind you when checking out, and place keys back in lockbox.

Great property for a one or two night visit. We slept very well! The property is in the heart of the historic area, with a great coffee shop/deli in the same building. Our only reason we did not give it five stars is due to the after hours noise from the tavern across the street, as well as road noise.
I loved this apartment. It was in the perfect location to walk to all the shops in Roscoe Village (and Roscoe Barbeque Company). The history of the building is fascinating and views of the town with Christmas lights were amazing! I really enjoyed my stay there. Also, the shops on Main Street over the bridge in Coshocton are worth mentioning.and only a few minutes drive.
Nye's Place was perfect for a weekend trip to be close to family camping at the Lake Park Complex nearby. Everything we needed for a comfortable weekend. Thanks for your hospitality, Maxx!
This is a lovely place to stay for a single or couple. The bed was comfortable and all the windows were great for natural light. Very charming and right in the center of everything. There is a great park nearby for walking. Everyone in town was very friendly.
We usually visit here 2 times per year. My friend went to a university with her very close “bud” who lives in West Lafayette. I always book golfing at a beautiful nearby course, Rivers Green. We love the area and don’t mind the 130 mile trip from Pennsylvania. Great eats across the street at The Warehouse and enjoying a drink or two at Huck’s Tavern.
Apartment was clean, lots of extra little things like a gift of chocolate covered pretzels! A neat little gadget with 18 different sounds to help one sleep better. Perfect location right in the middle of town. Close to restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, historical buildings and so much more! And Maxx was always available if we had questions. Yes I will be telling everyone about this precious gem in Roscoe Ohio!
No hot water in shower, lukewarm at best. I was given a $50 credit after communicating with max…

Hello Jody,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’d like to provide some additional context. We only learned about the hot water issue after your departure. The issue stemmed from a small adjuster on the newly installed showerhead that limits water temperature. This was an easy fix, and the hot water is now working properly. Had we been notified during your stay, we would have been happy to resolve it right away. We also issued a $50 refund as a goodwill gesture, and we hope you found that satisfactory.

Let's start with the good. Overall the apartment was clean, plenty of towels, kichenette and easy check in. Great location and easy parking in Historic Roscoe Village, close to shops and resturants. Sound machine in the bedroom was a nice touch and you'll need it. Street traffic was obnoxious with street racing and shouts of profane laced rants until late in the night. Overall condition of everything is tired and worn out, but again, it was clean. We spent a nearly sleepless night due to a mattress with no center support and the frame creaks loudly. The bedding was very worn with flat pillows, pilled sheets and comforter. The kitchen rug is stained and all the cabinets barely open due to being sticky. We did feel welcome with a message on the fridge, plus chocolate covered pretzels. For the money, you can do better. The host, Maxx was nice and available to answer questions, but we didnt have any questions, we were just disappointed.
