Welcome to HIGHER ELEVATION, a 7500 square-foot lot, newly remodeled new pool, spa and backyard full of games! 5-bedroom 4-bathroom (+ a/c & heat) hillside home designed in a modern-mission overlooking San Diego and Mission Bay (FIREWORKS) with breath taking views of sea world and from La Jolla to downtown! We're centrally located, near many attractions (eg beaches, Sea World, Zoo, downtown (read the neighborhood section for details). We are neighbors to USD and a 15 min walk to the Trolley.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We visited for our son's USMC bootcamp graduation with a bunch of family to celebrate. It was the perfect spot with plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was stocked for all the cooking we wanted to do. The pool and spa were super clean. The location was very convenient to I-5 so we got to places we wanted to visit with ease.

Perfect San Diego Getaway

We had a group of 11 spending the long weekend in San Diego and this property was absolutely perfect. There are grocery stores within a 5 minute drive and coffee shops nice local bars in walking distance. Downtown, the beach, and hiking trails are all quite accessible as well.The amenities were great as well and the host was incredibly responsive and great at communicating. We’d definitely book again in the future if visiting San Diego.

Great Location for large family gathering

Plenty of room for our family of ten. The beautiful pool and spa were enjoyed daily. We loved seeing the Sea World fireworks everyday. Manager was very prompt in replying to questions and responding to issues. So convenient to many San Diego attractions. Would totally stay here again.

Great family stay together

We rented this property for our family, which is 5 adults, 5 kids. The oasis room is separate from the rest of house, but it was a nice spot for my dad with it's own shower. The pool/ jacuzzi gave us a bit of trouble, but once it was serviced it worked beautifully. The host was very responsive. The yard games were a hit. The house/kitchen was just enough space for us. We didnt spend too much there as we were tourists out doing stuff. Theres lots of utensils for thr kitchen.The views are spectacular. We didn't have a ton of sun, but I could envision the views all the way to the ocean. Thr pool

good house with lots of potential

This house is located in a fantastic central location and a great deal for a place that sleeps so many people. Overall, myself and my guests had a lovely weekend in San Diego. There were a few issues that still need working out. It is stressed when you book the house that no extra guests are allowed. I was clear with my number of guests and you are given the bare minimum in linens for your stay. With no washer/dryer available this means you will be using your one towel your entire stay. The murphy bed, which we planned on using, only had a fitted sheet and no other linens. Two of the four baths had shower heads that did not work. And the kitchen sponge in the sink was not new when we arrived. This place has lots of potential. The best part was the perfect view of the fireworks show each night.

Location was ideal, central to all the main areas of SD. Plenty of street parking available for multiple cars. The pool & hot tub were great. The house was not the cleanest, the floors hadn’t been thoroughly swept as there were clumps of hair & dust in the corners upon arrival, and our feet turned black after walking barefoot. The amenities were extremely basic, with only hand soap and 3-in-1 hair/body soap in each bathroom. For the price, it would’ve been nice to have a few amenities like tissues, lotion, conditioner etc. One bed was crammed inside a closet in one of the smaller bedrooms, which was not specified when listing the number of beds/rooms. Communication with the host was interesting to say the least, as a few days before our stay, the host began sending rambling paragraphs and paragraphs of very specific rules & regulations that were not listed in the initial property details, and the consequences for breaking these last-minute rules including monetary fines for hanging decorations, and the possibility of calling the police for noise. I don’t have a problem with rules, but found it interesting that she chose to send these rules via private message AFTER the cancellation period, when the stay had been paid in full and could not be refunded. We felt like we were walking on eggshells all weekend and even bought a last-minute insurance policy because we were so paranoid about the rules. Overall, a decent stay, but could be better to reflect the high price tag.

Motel 6 with Views and an Unprofessional Manager

Our experience with Katrina, the property manager, was extremely disappointing. When we reached out to her with feedback from our stay, she immediately became defensive and accusatory. She even resorted to name-calling, which is something I've never encountered in all my years of renting properties. Katrina threatened us with retaliatory actions through VRBO if we left a bad review, emphasizing her intent to document everything for a battle with us and VRBO customer service. This was highly unprofessional and distressing. We rented this property for our daughter's graduation weekend and were busy hosting family the entire time. We chose to focus on our daughter rather than complaining during the stay. Our attempt after the fact was just to provide feedback. In hindsight we should have contacted her from the onset. While the spaces are nice for a large group, the furniture and beds are cheap and uncomfortable. The bed in my room had such a large pit that we had to rotate it to make it somewhat usable. All the adults had trouble sleeping due to the poor quality of the beds and pillows, which were thin and uncomfortable. Most rooms had minimal to no furniture. The cabinet in my room was mostly locked, offering very limited space, and other rooms had nothing more than a nightstand, less than what you would find at a basic motel. While the outdoor amenities were enjoyable, the poor quality of the beds and Katrina's unprofessional behavior overshadowed our stay.

Unfortunately, after a 2 week stay without one complaint, after check out they wanted a full refund of they would leave a bad review. Please read their review carefully. Absolutely nothing wrong or not accurate with the listing and property. Seems super strange. But we do wish them nothing but love. Please read all other reviews. Not one is even close to their scheming ways.
