Dear Carolyn, Thank you for your 10-star review. However, we must strongly disagree with your characterization of our neighborhood. While it may not be a luxury neighborhood, it certainly does not consist of houses in "poor condition." Our neighborhood is comprised of well-maintained brick homes, many of which have been recently renovated. It is a safe, quiet, and family-friendly neighborhood with excellent schools in great location. Best regards

I am really sad to see this review after all we did to accommodate you, and meet you so you can drop off your valuables waaay before check in after you checked out from your hotel. We made sure you can check in on time at our place despite the last minute holiday booking. We pride ourselves in offering a safe, welcoming space to all our guests and all we ask is shared respect and following the house rules so the next guest's stay can be as comfortable and welcoming. To say we're asking too much by requesting, like we do of all our guests, for trash to be taken out once a week, isn't "indentured servitude" as you claimed in your review. It's just the flip side of staying in someone's home as opposed to a hotel. You chose to check out of a hotel and stay in our place for a reason. To say we had listening devices is a lie and it's only a ring doorbell like every other property has so they can protect themselves and ensure their place is safe for all guests. We clearly didn't "monitor the video doorbell" as you claim or we might have seen you sneaking in a dog against our policy. Should you have disclosed it in a timely manner, as we have the right to know, especially since we ourselves and guests could have allergies, and need to clean appropriately, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. Because despite our best efforts to be great hosts as previous 50+ five star reviews across this and other platforms will attest, you weren't forthcoming with information, left the place in a mess, and WORSE, full of dog hair and dog poop, and dared to retaliate with a negative review full of lies just to cover yourself. The sad thing is, knowing your circumstances up front, we would have been more than accommodating about the dog, just as we were accommodating in welcoming you to drop off your valuables while we cleaned your home before welcoming you for your weeklong stay.
