The Chipmunk Lodge is situated near the top of the lovely private community of Lake Harmony Estates, Pennsylvania. This newly built 2009 house is a 3 story, nearly 3300 square foot entertainment lodge that has 6 bedrooms, a full loft and 4 full baths, 2 of which are in the 2 Master Suites. This house offers luxurious accommodations and backyard winter views of Big Boulder Ski Resort.

On the second floor is our great room and sun room that has cathedral ceilings, see-though stone gas fireplace, poker game table and a 42'' Flat Screen LCD TV attached to the stone fireplace. The modern kitchen is perfect for cooking with large groups and has a spacious granite counter top and center island and breakfast bar. It has a side-by-side refrigerator with an ice maker and filtered water dispenser, ceramic cook top stove & oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a large breakfast bar with seating for three. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the basic pots/pans/utensils and is attached to the dining room that has a solid wood table with seating for 10. Behind the kitchen are two bedrooms and a full bathroom. On the third floor there are two Master bedrooms/2 full baths and a gorgeous 12' loft area that overlooks the great room and has views of Big Boulder Ski Resort in the winter. The first floor is a 25'' x 18' game room & entertainment center equipped with a 8' Pool Table, CD player, stone gas fireplace and a sofa and loveseat. Two bedrooms and a full bathroom sit behind the game room.

The front of the home boasts a very large raised deck and covered raised porch on the side of the house. A stainless steel gas grill is located on the deck for barbecues and picnics. We provide two 8' picnic table that has seating for 10 people each and 4 modern Adirondack deck chairs. The 6-8 person hot tub is situated outdoors but covered by a roof to shield rain and snow from the tub.

The home is a 1-2 minute drive to Big Boulder Ski Resort and a 5 minute drive to Jack Frost Ski Area. Lake Harmony is a private powerboat lake that permits fishing, power boating, water skiing and swimming. There is a beach, within walking distance of the home. Lake Harmony has a private sandy beach with a swimming area, picnic tables and beach volleyball court. The home is minutes from numerous Summer & Winter attractions like skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, snowmobile riding, horse back riding, a very large paintball area, hiking and camping (Hickory Run State Park), Boulder Field (in Hickory Run State park), white water rafting, fishing, hunting, miniature golfing, indoor water parks, Casino Gambling, bowling, first-run movie theater, full-service award-winning golfing and large outlet shopping nearby. Lake Harmony is located 90 miles from New York & Philadelphia.

Alan’s Chipmunk cabin was perfect to accommodate our large group which included 10 adults and 7 children (under the age of 5). We took a walk to the lake one day and almost froze, but it looks like a great location for all 4 seasons! We may rent again next winter (if Alan will have us).

Booked this place for family gathering. The house was nice and there were a LOT of things to do nearby. 20 people stayed and the accommodations were good, however there wasn't enough room for the trash that 20 people create. We precisely followed the terms of the agreement regarding trash disposal and are now being charged $20 for each bag we couldn't fit in trash receptacles. Owner NOT responsive; offered trash remedy during our stay and didn't follow through - kept $$$ from security deposit instead.

Enjoyed our stay

A beautiful setting and well-maintained house with room to sleep many people comfortably. Grill, wraparound deck (on upper floor; lots of character), game room, bedrooms, kitchen, hot tub, dining room, washer/dryer all as described. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements, pots/pans. Lake Harmony was beautiful and the beach/swimming area perfect for children (note beach doesn't open until 11 am). Forest trails nearby made for good hiking, sight-seeing. Highly recommended.

I reviewed many listsing to house 20 people and this house looked too good to be true. All claims in the listing are 100% true. The house is updated, clean, affordable, and amazing. The hot tub was clean and ready to go upon arrival. The kitchen is truely fully equiped with loads of plates, cups, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils. TV's are in every room with cable. Loads of room for everyone to spread out. My guests and I loved the retro arcade machine with tons of games on it. The wrap around deck is beautiful and we used the grill every day to prepared food. Many renters before us all had good ettiquite as there was plenty of the little things already there such as soap, garbage bags, ect. Although the listing says that conforters are not provided, there actually were blankets on the beds (you still need sheets and pillows). The ONLY negative I have about this house is quite minescule, and that is the slow ice making capacity of the freezer ice dispencer. Besides that everything about this house is legit. If the other houses that this realtor offers is as good as this one, I would definitely rent any of them.

Exceeded All Expectations

I came to the Chipmunk Lodge in August for a college reunion type gathering/golf trip and was extremely impressed. The house is much bigger than the photos let on, and we slept 16 people here very comfortably. New appliances, gorgeous wood floors, and a truly breathtaking wrap around deck perfect for big family style dinners and grilling. Lake Harmony is gorgeous and the house is in a perfect location; far enough away from the town, etc to be secluded but close enough to walk to the beach and surrounding area if needed. For big groups, there can't be a better place to stay in the area. For what you get, frankly, the owners could charge much more!

Chipmunk Lodge

Home was the ideal size for our 13 member extended family. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area seats 13. Also, the table on the huge, pleasant wrap-around-deck holds this number. The home has good amenities and feels quite new. The owner is responsive to questions. We all had a wonderful time.

Great House, even better Owners

The Chipmunk Lodge was a wonderful place to stay with plenty of room and great amenities. Everything in the house was updated and current, unlike many of the others in the area. The owners of the house were extremely professional and made the rental process very easy. Split Rock Golf Course, now that wasn't so easy. I highly recommend this house.

Great house for a big gathering

We had a family event (50th anniversary) at Chipmunk Lodge in August 2011. At one point we had 19 folks gathered. It is a wonderful, spacious house with plenty of room to spread out. Even with a couple of rainy days, we had a great time. The side deck has a roof so we were able to gather outside and grill and eat, even when the weather didn't cooperate. The house was clean and well-maintained and the furnishings were all very attractive. We enjoyed the public beach at the lake as well as all the attractions at Split Rock Resort - just down the road. Swimming, fishing, boating, tubing, bike riding, bowling, indoor water-park, horseback riding ....we did it all. We really enjoyed the pool table in the lower floor. Large kitchen with all the necessary equipment for a big group. Everyone was thrilled to sit outside and watch the lovely deer which travel the neighborhood. We would certainly recommend this house for a family reunion or other large group. The owner was very responsive when we had questions. The neighborhood is very pretty and walking the hilly roads was good exercise.

Great Reunion Weekend!

We stayed at the Chipmunk Lodge with friends we hadn't seen in years and their children. The stay was Great! Kids had their places to hangout and the adults could relax and chat, total of 16 people and never once felt crowded (very spacious layout). House is clean and has everything you need for a great week or weekend away from it all! There is much to do around the LakeHarmony area (shopping, boating, movies for a rainy day), but what we liked most was just being able to leave the car at the house and walk to the beach for the afternoon and then come back and grill on the deck! Great time and we will be doing it again!
