My wife & I have stayed @ Mid Century Escape in the past usually week at a time. This time was Christmas week and there was 3 different groups of renters staying in the unit directly below us. Sounds carry. One of the families in particular were very noisy, banging , stomping around, stomp
Staying in Welches was perfect for beautiful setting, wonderful accomodations, quiet retreat and great little Mexican Restaurant right in Welches with the BEST margaritas.
Great views! This condo is very clean and updated with beautiful furniture and decorations. It is so comfortable and spacious. Would highly recommend, it’s been my favorite on our road trip from San Francisco to Seattle. Spectacular!!
We absolutely loved staying here! The condo is very clean, comfortable, private, and nicely decorated. The kitchen is very nicely updated and well stocked. There are plenty of towels in the bathrooms, but there aren't any wash cloths, so I'd recommend bringing your own if you use them. The bathrooms were thoughtfully stocked with a hairdryer and other items one might forget while packing. The hillside view is lovely and we enjoyed watching the geese graze in the snow. We also very much enjoyed the record player in the living room. The only minor thing we didn't like was that the water heaters aren't the best. We had to turn the shower knob to the hottest setting to get a comfortable shower. The master bathroom shower gets hot for a little bit, but my husband said the guest bathroom shower never got hot.
This condo was perfect for our weekend ski get away. Ver comfortable with all the necessities one could ask for. Appreciate the hospitality! We would stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay in Welches. The condo was very clean, comfortable and cozy with the fireplace. The beds were super comfortable and Maria, the owner was very responsive to our needs. The condo is so close to Mt Hood and we got beautiful photos of the mountain after sunrise and at sunset from Trillium Lake. I would highly recommend this condo.
We had a great weekend staying here! The property listing is 100% accurate, it looks as nice as it does in the photos. It was very comfortable, with beautiful views, and we really enjoyed our stay. Super comfortable beds. The weather wasn't the best, but we were able to enjoy a few local walks around the golf course and nearby resort grounds, and driving up the mountain for snow play and hikes was quick and easy. We enjoyed our dinner from the local curry house and sandwiches from the bakery. Such a convenient and fun little getaway close to Portland - we would definitely stay again!
Maria was extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. This property has been updated and incorporated some modern touches while maintaining some of the older charm. We loved the wood burning fireplace and the view from the front room. This is a great rental for a small family or a small group of friends to enjoy together.
Very clean, nice property on the golf course with nice views. Pictures accurate and covered parking. Owner provides a lot of extras such as iron, fans, laundry detergent and coffee thought we brought our own. Property faces mostly south so it does get afternoon sun. Temp was fine when we could open the windows in advance. Owner provides prompt responses to communication and is very kind. No AC but we would stay here again.
This condo is amazing! It is beautifully remodeled has everything you need in it and is right on the golf course. We used it to go ski up at Mount Hood Meadows, where there are four different resorts and winter tubing plus snow parks I’d like to come back in the summer and go mountain biking Everything is so close by and Maria is an excellent host. I highly recommend VRBO-ing this unit!
We stayed while our kids took part in Ski Camp to be closer to the mountain. The property was clean well equipped. The carport spot has a low clearance and our 4Runner did not fit with skis on the roof rack. Bring firewood if you would like a fire.
The description of the property is very accurate! Other than getting up the stairs with my 84 year old mother, I wouldn't change a thing! The host was pleasant, quick to respond to my questions and very accommodating. Even on rainy days, the view over the golf course was lovely. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well appointed, with everything we needed for our stay. There was a sweet little bed, a bowl and a dog mat for our fuzzy friends, as well as treats in the cupboard for them (I'm not sure if they're always there or if they'd be left behind by another vacationer). There was also a nice selection of spices, teas and coffee. It was also just a short jaunt from Portland (an hour or so?), so it was GREAT for a quick getaway. We will ABSOLUTELY stay here again! It was a great experience!

Overall, the property was true to what was advertised. I was instantly impressed. However, the smell of charred firewood was prominent. Found out there was some partially burned wood still in the fireplace. We also noticed an infestation of gnats in the bedrooms and bathrooms. They seemed to be attracted to light sources and would be a congregating near the bed side lamps. One other turn off was the smell of onions, etc on the cutting board, I would suggest that be replaced when it gets like that. And last to mention were that more than half of the bowls had dried food residue, prompting me not to trust that anything else would be sanitary without washing first.
These 4 items are minor in my opinion, and did not warrant me stopping my vacation or having to make immediate complaints. I only bring them up, because I’m an outsider and these are observations that would embarrass me as a host.
After having said that, I would still entertain the possibility of booking the unit again with the understanding said items are addressed.
Wonderful views! Maria was such a great host with excellent communication! We were close to everything we wanted and needed for our little trip!
