Secluded home on top of Rich Mtn w/ long range million dollar view, Brevard NC.
The Mountain Oasis home is new to VRBO in 2022. Built in 2017, it has been extremely well cared for. On the main level, you will find three bedrooms and 2 full baths, the kitchen, a cozy living room, and a laundry area. Upstairs, all of the wood trim, doors and some incredible wall decor (see picture for bedroom #2) came from the trees harvested from the clearing of the property. Downstairs there is a nice rec room, complete with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, large TV, and game table, (pool, ping pong or air hockey), a bedroom with double bed bunk beds, and a 1/2 bath.
The 2.5 acres of the property is surrounded by over 200 acres of preserved forest. We are very secluded with only one neighbor that is not very visible at all. At an elevation of 3500 feet, the mountain oasis faces West/Northwest providing beautiful sunsets in the evening and fabulous cloud lake effects in the morning (see photos), providing truly million-dollar views. The stars and the moon at night are phenomenal.
Outside on the lower level there is a large firepit and grassy area. Firewood is there for you to purchase but you need to bring your own lighter fluid or starter logs. ( Free kindling is provided.) There is also a great flat large grassy area for you to enjoy the provided bean bag toss, bocce ball (provided) or Simon says etc.
On the upper level outside life is enjoyed on a very large deck, a wrought iron table, and 4 pollywood gliders with gliding foot stools, and some plastic Adirondak chairs, and a brand new (2025) gas grill. (Hoping the bears will stay away from it this time. They only came to the grill one time in 2 years.)
Located on Rich Mountain overlooking the quaint town of Brevard NC this immaculate home truly has million-dollar views. Location, location, location! Nearby are the towns of Brevard and Hendersonville, the Cedar Mountain community, Dupont State Park, Pisgah National Forest, Holmes Educational State Forest, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Fred Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place.) For a short drive you can reach, Gorges State Park, Lake Keowee and Lake Joscasee. There is something for everyone, outdoor adventures of fishing, hiking to waterfalls and through the woods, biking the mountain trails, kayaking or tubing the lazy French Broad River, tubing the Lazy Davidson River or the more adventurous Green River, horseback riding or indoor activities such as shopping and visiting breweries and wineries! Sherwood public golf course, par 3 eighteen hole, is only 6 miles away. Or of course, you can just sit on the deck and look at the mountains and watch the weather come in! Mountain Oasis is managed by a local couple who would love to sit down with you and give you all the information on hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking and tubing in the area. They have put together a guidebook with specifics for you in the Mountain Oasis.
Brevard, located in the county of Transylvania, is known as the 'land of the waterfalls' for its outdoor amenities such as mountain biking, kayaking, tubing and hiking to waterfalls; Brevard is a quaint small town with many great shops and dining opportunities on main street. The Oscar Blues brewery and the Ecusta Brewery are close. Hendersonville has the St. Paul Winery, Burt Shirt Winery and others. Tours of the Seirra Nevada Brewery are also available in the nearby town of Mills River. There are more thrift shops than can be listed. If you want more of a big city feel, Asheville is an easy drive. There is something at Mountain Oasis for everyone. You'll love it!
Both Dupont State Park and Pisgah Forest National Park are very close. Dupont's trail heads (Fawn Lake, Cornmill Shoals) are within 5 miles and the other three ( High Falls, Lake Imaging, and Guion) are within an 8 mile drive. (Fawn lake is great for swimming.) These state park sites are known for their wonderful trails and waterfalls. Some lazy tubing is enjoyed on the Davidson River in the Pisgah Forest. One can get on a bike and ride on Rich Mountain Road for 2 miles and be on a Dupont trail.
There is drone footage on YouTube showing the Oasis and surrounding forests. Just type in Mountain Oasis, Brevard NC and it will come up. It's only one minute long. https://youtu.be/yCR_EtsM_Vc

The host was welcoming. She wrote each family member a kind note and provided us with fresh eggs. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would ever need.
We love this house! It's perfect for families. Game room and great views. Close to town. Great kitchen and laundry room. It's close to hiking and the parks.
This was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay with plenty of wildlife to see - woke up the first morning to mama bear and her two cubs walking down the driveway! We truly enjoyed the peaceful solitude and the amazing views. Thank you Jane for hosting us!
My family and I came to Brevard to pick up our kids from summer camp and stayed for a few days. We had an amazing time here. Everyone enjoyed the games, the views, the outdoors and making s’mores around the campfire. It was relaxing, and we hope to come back soon.
The property was very clean and well appointed. Communication with the property owner/manager was very easy and she was very nice! The views are incredible and we have already booked another stay at this cabin.
The house was beautiful and the view was to die for. Really enjoyed the property. The owners were very nice and easy to work with. Highly recommend this VRBO.

The view from both the deck and the lower patio of this home is unbeatable! Great location close to many hikes and downtown Brevard. Home was spotless and had everything you could need for your stay. Lot of room, plenty of fun family games, well appointed kitchen, communicative host. Highly recommend!
When you stay here, you will not be able to get enough of the views ! The house was wonderful. So clean and had everything you could need. Not far from downtown. Very secluded but the view is worth it.

Thank you Ann Marie, for taking the time to give us a review. So glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the fabulous view. That view just never gets old and its always right there!
Thanks again for staying with us.
This home was absolutely perfect! The breathtaking views are unlike anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The home itself is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen was labeled and organized perfectly. The gigantic master shower was phenomenal. Very much enjoyed the basement/rec room with the pool table. Cannot wait to stay in this home again!
This property was the most beautiful property to take our family too. The beauty of the mountains and what looks like a lake in the sky with how the clouds look, mixed with the cuteness of a small town and accessibility to all our waterfalls destinations we wanted to explore. Brevard was amazing, the property made it that much better. Also the manager Mary of this house was very nice and answered any and all questions we had. Would love to bring my parents and visit again in the future!

Rachel, I'm thrilled to death to read your review. So glad we had everything you needed. I'm considering getting a few hiking sticks for the house. Do you think they would be used?
7 hikes! that's great.
Come see us again.
Thanks, Jane
Outstanding stay with a beautiful property and location
Gorgeous views, and beautiful star gazing from huge back deck. We enjoyed nightly fires in the fire pit and days for hiking, exploring waterfalls and taking in Brevard from this comfortable and well appointed home. We’ve had a great stay and will return! Of special note, host Jane hikes regularly and will gladly help guests towards hikes that fit guests interest. Brevard is great for families with toy store, book shop, bakeries, arcade, gem mining and world class hiking. This home is the perfect spot to enjoy it all!

We are so glad that you had such a wonderful time here in the land of the waterfalls! Glad you had time to see the town and the country. Please come back this summer and we'll take you kayaking.
The view is even more beautiful than the pictures. This is a lovely home, immaculately clean and comfortable with everything you need for a nice relaxing vacation. The owner, Jane checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Instead of eating out we cooked our dinners and ate out on the deck while we enjoyed the sunset. We cannot wait to come back and stay here again!
The place was wonderful! The views were unreal. If we had come in spring could have sit out with fire, but since fall got a little cold. But didn’t matter views were there inside r outside. Clean and had everything u could need. Little drive back down but so worth it.
It was so relaxing and the view amazing. Jane was a terrific owner and was such a pleasure working with her. The cabin is beautifully decorated. Beds SO comfy. Entire property SO clean and welcoming. Kitchen well stocked with everything one would need.We would stay there again when in Brevard. HIGHLY recommend this property and owner. You won’t find a better view nor experience.
The view is worth staying here. The patio and deck were our favorite spot to sit out and enjoy the view. Deer visited in the morning. Located close to hiking and close enough to Brevard, but quiet and secluded. The house is new and well kept. A few of the amenities could use upgrading to match the high price per night.
