About this property

Lovely 4BR Waterfront Home in Historic District

Often called a "a little slice of heaven", McClellanville is a quaint fishing village that is less than an hour from Charleston and Myrtle Beach, but worlds from both. You will truly feel like you've stepped back into time as you drive down the Oak-lined Avenues and past the Historic Homes in this coastal retreat. Bounded by the Francis Marion Forest and Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge, this area is free of development, pollution, and traffic. Great Seafood restaurants, boutique shops, artist galleries and southern charm will bring you back year after year once you've discovered this well-kept Secret of the South!

This lovely waterfront home was newly constructed in 2007 in the heart of the Historic District, walking distance to the downtown businesses and restaurant. It is less than a mile to the Town Boat Landing where you can access world-class fishing sanctuary and also features a deep-water dock with room for your boat. The inside of this immaculate home features Australian Cypress hardwood floors, high ceilings, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, gas fireplace, gas BBQ, and screened porch and sun deck to view Jeremy Creek.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to prepare a meal and you're in walking distance to seafood markets if you want to pick up some fresh shrimp or shellfish. There is Free WiFi and Satellite HDTV. The Master Bedroom located on first floor (raised elevation) has a Queen-sized bed and luxurious bathroom. Three more bedrooms are found upstairs with a Queen and two Double Beds.

Note: This home has a shared dock. While access is not limited, we respectfully ask guests to treat neighbors courteously and allow equal use. We must also strictly enforce a 2 boat maximum for guests to ensure that everyone has room.

Note: This home is for sale through MCVL Realty. For more information on the sale of 709 Morrison Street, contact Daniel Bates at 843-606-0622.

Quiet

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was clean and spacious. The view was excellent, as well as the town. Two boats fit nicely on the dock, had no trouble getting off the dock, even at dead low. Beds could be a little bigger, but overall a fantastic stay. Highly recommend!

Perfect location and beautiful home

We rented this property as it was three houses down from the family we were spending Christmas with. It was the perfect location. The home is beautiful and all amenities are great. Loved spending time on the outside decks and the dock, watching the birds. This home was all we hoped for and more and we will not hesitate to rent it again when we visit.

Southern Charm

We all absolutely loved this house. It was well stocked, very clean, charming and met our needs perfectly, especially the early morning trout fishing off the back dock. We will absolutely be back annually as we have family in the area and this is the perfect place to stay. I highly recommend it if you are coming to the area. And a must is the crab dip sold down the street - best we have ever had and we are from seafood capitols.

Perfect getaway

The house was clean, very well appointed and easily accommodated our group. The location is perfect to walk into town and with the dock you can pull your boat right up and be out on the water in minutes. The property manager is very pleasant to deal with. I would definitely rent this house again

low key - great spot

McClellanville - is slightly off of the grid - one restaurant - but if that is your vibe - this is a great house - great location - next door to quaint shrimping dock - great dock.

The home, location, and property manager were wonderful. The only thing I would have liked was a hose to the end of the dock so that we could rinse the boats off.

Clean, modern home in quiet coastal town

We loved our stay at Village Retreat in sleepy McClellanville. The house was modern and up-to-date with high ceilings and an open plan on the first floor. Great porch looking out at the dock. Friendly neighbors. We brought kayaks and put in right off the dock. We visited nearby Bulls Island. You need to search out activities, but if you are looking for a quiet place to vacation, this is a great option.

Great location on the coast

We had 4 couples and two boats. Visited the Georgetown waterfront one day, and Shem Creek the next. Also went out to the shell-filled barrier islands and old lighthouses. Tremendous fun back at the house as well.

Beautiful Location, Lovely House

Really enjoyed the house and location. Beautifully furnished, well stocked, clean. My only complaint is that the air conditioning did not work upstairs the entire stay. We arrived Friday evening and Saturday I sent an email to the realtor/property management regarding the AC. Did not hear back by end of day Sunday so I called and spoke with realtor/management at which time she said she would send out her husband to take a look before contacting a repair company. Her husband came by (didn't introduce himself) and said that the air was working just fine. That evening it was cool out so we opened the windows but by the next evening when it was warm out it was clear the AC was not working "just fine". So I contacted her again at which time I was told that AC company will be sent out, never heard back and we left the next day. 1 whole week and nothing was fixed. Unacceptable. I had to purchase a fan and we were unable to keep the windows open because NONE of them have screens and there are lots of bugs when the tide is low.

We had a wonderful week at the Village Retreat in McClellanville. The house was fabulous with all the amenities you could want. It was clean and very nicely decorated. It was great having the large garage for vehicle storage and the back screened in porch was ideal for conversation and relaxation. The fresh fish market only a stones throw away was a great place to buy large, fresh shrimp and the restaurant in town called J W Graham's was an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. The location was central to Charleston and Myrtle Beach which made for great motorcycle rides in either direction. We would recommend this house for others traveling through or for a destination trip.
