About this property
Stunning Beachfront Casa and Casita
Stunning 4-bedroom, 4-bath beachfront estate, pool, 7-seat van included plus 2 kayaks and 2 stand-up paddleboards! Treat yourself to a five-star stay in a luxurious gated estate with full-time caretaker. Enjoy amazing sea views from virtually every window, your own full-sized pool, lush gardens and a sandy beach on your doorstep. Launch one of the 2 kayaks or 2 paddle boards just steps from the main house which are included in the rental. Casa de Vista Hermosa and its adjacent casita rent as a single property, combining to offer accommodation for up to 10 adults, or 12 total with children under age 12. Children 12 and over are considered as adults. The 3,000-square-foot Spanish Colonial casa has 3 large bedrooms, 2.5 baths, an entertainer's dream kitchen, sunlit great room and dining table that seats 12. The 750-square-foot casita has a king bedroom, sofabed in the living room, double-vanity bath and gourmet kitchen. The two houses share a beautifully landscaped courtyard and an outdoor fireplace on one side, pool deck and barbecue area on the other opening through a beach gate to the Sea of Cortez. The property is an ideal base for multi-generation family gatherings, weddings, special birthdays, friends' reunions, fishing trips or retreats. This unique property is located in historic Loreto, only 15 minutes' walk from the charming town plaza, the 325-year-old Mission church, shops and restaurants. Or hop in your complementary air-conditioned 7-passenger Toyota Sienna van and you're there in 2 minutes! (The van is insured for guests to use while in Loreto, but a liability waiver is required. See attached.) The main casa comfortably sleeps 6 or 7 adults in three bedrooms, two of which have king beds; the third has a queen and a double. If there are children in your group, a cot, crib and other kids' gear is available at no charge. The upstairs master bedroom has its own full bathroom and walk-in closet. The 2 ground-floor bedrooms have built-in closets and desks; they share a "Jack and Jill" double-vanity bathroom with shower. There's a half-bathroom across the hall. You can toss a coconut from the casa to the casita's doorstep, which sleeps up to 3 more people in a king bedroom plus living room sofabed. The casita has all the luxuries of the main house, but smaller. See photos. It is no exaggeration to say that visitors just love Loreto. There's so much to see and do! Take a walking tour of the historic mission, hire a boat to go fishing, diving or island hopping, hike the canyons, visit beautiful San Javier in the sierras (by mule!) or golf at one of two resort courses south of town -- 15 minutes' drive to Loreto Bay's golf course, or 30 minutes to the new championship course at Danzante Bay. All of which can easily be arranged with our help. We will direct you to the best people and places (at the best prices) to ensure you get the very most out of your stay in Loreto. Casa de Vista Hermosa has deluxe beddings, towels and toiletries, and more than 1,000 square feet of outdoor decks with a full fireplace and seating area on the ground floor, plus a built-in BBQ and dining area by the pool. There’s a palapa-covered outdoor living room on the second floor with gas fireplace and stunning 360-degree views of the sea, islands and mountains. The casita has its own private rooftop deck shaded by a pergola, with equally dramatic sea views over the casa and courtyard. Enjoy a delicious home cooked breakfast with Lucy! For $25/500 pesos, plus the cost of food, Lucy will cook your choice of breakfast. Ask about her services. $40/800 pesos for dinner, plus cost of food.

We appreciated the availability of a vehicle as the eldest of us could not have walked to town. The kids loved all the water toys as well as being right on the beach. The shore birds were beautiful. Both the house and the casita were clean and comfortable. The kitchens were well stocked. And Lucy cooked us several excellent meals for a very reasonable price. She as well as the grounds overseer were very helpful. We would definitely return.
Our 2 families had a wonderful time in this house. Kid friendly, close to downtown, a local car to use, a housekeeper who cooks meals for you, paddle boards, it was all a treat. Kitchen had it all (even an electric lime juicer) which made cooking at home easy.

Glad you had a great time, Loreto is awesome. I didn't know we had an electric lime juicer! That will make margaritas easier!
Peter and Ron were incredibly helpful with booking, advice, transportation and information. An absolutely gorgeous spot and beautiful house.

Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure hosting you and your group. Everyone was respectful of the house and van. You were an exciting and energetic group. We would gladly encourage you to come back to Loreto and to please stay at Casa de Vista Hermosa again!
This house and casita were perfect for our multi generational family trip. Peter and Ron were so helpful during the entire planning, arrival and our stay. The home is as beautiful as in the pictures. The beach and sea views are breath taking. I would highly recommend this rental.

Janie and her family were great guests. We would gladly welcome them again, and do hope they will plan another trip to visit our little slice of paradise here in Loreto!
Gorgeous spacious house and location on beach front
Quiet
Great birdwatching and swimming, lots of fishes off the rocks. Great choice of tours available
Loretto is a charming town with choice of good restaurants and friendly gentle pace
Lucy cooked us a delicious meal on arrival
Thank you for use of your minivan in the town
Loved Loreto! My family had an awesome time. A big thank you to host Sherri, as well Lucy and Carlos for all their daily help. Everyone was super helpful and responsive. Thank you
We traveled with family and friend. It was nice having the casita so our friend had his own space when needed. The property has great outdoor spaces!! Places one can go and get away from activities and relax. Pool was perfect. Beach in front of the house was wonderful. Great place for kids to play in the calm water. We would stay again.
A great place to stay right on the beach . We had 8 adults and enjoyed cooking in, eating out in town, cooling off in the pool and listening to the surf. A mini van was included for use around town. Peter, the property manager, had a very complete booklet about the operation of the house, places to see, restaurants, and was there for us when we needed anything.

Gene, thank you for your kind words about the house. We are glad you enjoyed it. You and your crew were a great group and would be welcomed back any time!
We visited with family and absolutely loved this house. The view is breathtaking with the ocean and the islands as your main focus out the rear of the house. We saw whales, rays and dolphins from the patio. We used the kayaks and paddle boards for early morning exercising right out the back of the house. The sunrise over the island was gorgeous and worth getting up every everyday day. Our captain picked us up on the beach in front of the house for a day of fishing. Loreto is a magical place with endless adventures and dining. The house is gorgeous! We will be back!!
Communication was great, every question I had was answered quickly. The house was wonderful, all the beds were very comfortable, we enjoyed the pool and sitting on the patio enjoying some cold refreshments watching the sun set with the ocean breeze blowing.
The one suggestion I would recommend for anyone staying here, have Lucy and her granddaughter cook for you, it was wonderful!
We had 8 adults' staying and it was very comfortable. We will be back for sure.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! Loreto is magical and Lucy's refried beans are delicious!
The house worked out well for our families. Pool, kayaks, paddle boards and beach were well used! There was a very loud all-night party on Saturday night out on the point. We had great meals-cooking in, hiring Lucy, and going out to restaurants in town. You cannot flush toilet paper which is a big drawback. Maybe mid week cleaning should be included. Having The van was a big plus. Gracias!
This is a must for a larger group. Although the pool isn’t as big as we would have liked, the deck and all accessories were great.
Location was perfect to get around and having the use of the van was a bonus.
Fully equipped with all necessities such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc. no need to buy anything except for food and drinks.
Great local information on the areas doings and Peter and Ron property manager’s are available for information on everything.
We will definitely be looking into coming back in the future.

Jeannie and her group were excellent guests! We thank them for their nice review. We would love to see them return to Loreto and stay in the Casa de Vista Hemosa!!!
We had a fun stay in Loreto. House is secure and safe in a gated compound. Peter and Ron were great hosts and provided a lot of helpful information. They also arranged a cooking class for the girls and checked in with us by text regularly to make sure all went well. House was well stocked, had purified water and Casita and minivan worked out perfect for our group of six. Fishing was good and Giggling Dolphin restaurant cooked our fish 3 ways and we had a delicious and fun dinner there. One note, you can't put toilet paper in the toilets in the main house.

The house was great and exceeded expectations, and was enhanced greatly by Shaw
Four of us old friends (James Caldwell HS class of '71) spent a week at the house. Shaw greeted us there and gave a thorough walk through the house, answering any questions we had. He balanced unobtrusiveness with helpfulness the whole week, and we all agreed that Shaw was the best VRBO host we had ever experienced. Anyway, the house is comfortable and well furnished, as is the kitchen. Every morning we would have coffee on the back porch and watch the pelicans and other birds dive for their breakfast. The local restaurants were great as was our day of fishing which Shaw helped on greatly. The Jeep was a handy addition and we used it daily...just watch out the the stop (ALTO) signs! All in all a great time, including visiting a mission, Taber Canyon, and the quaint local town. We even attended a local soccer game. The town is accommodating, peaceful, and friendly.

House itself was very nice, would have been nice for groundskeeper to keep up patio cleanliness daily. Great rooms and views and living space. Cook Lucy made us some great meals! . Pool water was cold, had to continually ask for heater to be turned on, pool cover was broken so when it was windy sand and plant material went into pool. Pool not cleaned daily. It was so dirty we didn’t even get in. Patio cushions/pillows weather rotted. A raccoon continued to poop and urinate on the cushion, caretaker just swept poop off and put cushion back. It was saturated with urine! ! Needless to say we were never able to enjoy the fire pit and patio ! TV would not stay connected to internet, groundskeeper said he could never get it connected either. So No TV available at all. There was so much sand piled up behind the gate to get to the beach we could not open the gate to get to the beach.

Thank you for your input, we want everyone to have a great vacation and want to address any issues. Glad you enjoyed Lucy's cooking, love her refired beans! It was exceptionally windy on your trip, hard to keep up with debris blowing around and it blows sand on the gate which has been cleared. The TV has been replaced, the raccoon has not been seen since, that was a first! Cushion covers are custom and will be replaced in April. I apologize for the events on your trip, hope you enjoyed the beautiful town of Loreto.
I don't usually give all 5 star reviews but this house and hosts deserve it. The property is beautiful. Everything worked, (which is rare) and the location is perfect. Right on the beach with an awesome view of the Sea of Cortez and the Carmen Island. The lap pool is perfect for swimming and cooling off and the decks and patios are great. Even before the trip, the hosts were always ready to help and point us in the right direction on events and guides to use. All and all the perfect spot for a family vacation.

We truly enjoyed hosting John and his family at Casa La Playa! It gives us great pleasure seeing guests so fully enjoying all we have to offer here on the property. It's easy helping such enthusiastic visitors plan a wonderful vacation on land and sea. We hope to see this lovely family again.
We had a great stay. The property is a bit older, but well cared for and stocked. It has a wonderful
View of the gulf and awesome sunrises. The house sits on a public beach, which means some late night noise and passing people. The landscaping around the home is really well done with mature plants, trees, etc..
And the use of Jeep to make runs to store very helpful. Lots of amenities to this rental that you do not find elsewhere.
I would stay here again…with some headphones to drown out the late night noise. ;)

Thanks for being great guests Tom! Come back, and next time try to schedule the trip anytime but Semana Santa (Easter). It's definitely a party time in the town and on the beaches. Normally it's very quiet here.
This beach-front home is amazing and was the perfect way to end our Loreto sea kayak and whale watching adventures for a group of 8 women. Communication with Paula was extraordinary throughout. The home is beautiful, extremely comfortable, and had everything needed for our stay. Special thanks to Scotty for doing extra grocery shopping for us in advance and taking such good care of us. The home is very spacious and we loved the various outside areas for relaxing. Beds were very comfortable with quality linens and bathrooms had everything you may have forgotten to pack. We loved lounging by the pool, yet having the beach just footsteps away. The short walk to town was pleasant and having the jeep available was a bonus. We highly recommend staying at Paula's place in Loreto and hope to return again in the future. This was an amazing 5-star experience for our group.

Karen, you planned the perfect Loreto visit (including a stay at our casa) so I'm not surprised all of you had a great time! Kayaking, whale watching and hanging with a big lively group of friends... what could be better? Thanks for coming, and for the beautiful review. Hope to see you again.
The previous reviews pretty much summarize this property and its many special features. Upon arrival, it was fun to check out all the great home decor including the colorful pottery in the kitchen. We loved being welcomed with fruit, beer, bread and many other food items in the kitchen. Having the use of Paula and Shaw's jeep plus all of Paula's recommendations for transport, restaurants and tours made our stay glorious and well beyond the usual VRBO rental. Shaw even made our first night's dinner reservations! My husband and I are birders so it was a treat to see birds right outside the many large windows and the short walk to the estuary. This place does not disappoint!

Gwen, it was truly a pleasure to host your group. Thanks for being such lovely guests, and thank you in particular for being an excellent communicator and (frankly) the perfect visitor to our casa and our town.
The VRBO question I am asked to answer is to summarize my overall impression of the property, but I would rather give my opinion! This is a great property. Of course it helps to have blue skies and warm weather every day when coming from western Montana in January, but it truly was perfect for our group of six adults and five grandkids (ages four and under). We rented both Casa and Casita. Paula thought of everything from sufficient paper products and toiletries to all the baby gear and little kids' toys one could want including pool floats and shovels/buckets to play in the sand. She scheduled chefs to cook for our large crowd, two of whom conveniently delivered dinner to the front gate upon our request. She scheduled delivery of kayaks and a paddle board for us. She would have scheduled our covid testing to return to the US, if needed.
The lovely large courtyard between Casa and Casita was ideal for confining mobile kids. Paula turned up the heat in the lap pool so it would be more comfortable for the kids. I congratulated myself on bringing little kids' wet suits and neoprene caps to extend their enjoyment of the pool.
Even though we didn't do a lot of touristy things due to kids napping at different times, every day was wonderful in such a beautiful place. We felt totally pampered and enjoyed every minute!

Alice, it was truly a pleasure hosting your big, active, happy family at Casa La Playa! You made maximum use of every corner of the house and property, not to mention pool floats and beach toys, and yet you left things in perfect shape -- clean and neat as a pin. Thanks for being superlative guests!
This was a great oceanfront property in Loreto. The property manager goes above and beyond to make for a pleasant stay and insured that everything went smoothly for our group. The location was excellent and the Casa was everything we expected and more.
