A wonderful family home made available to weekend/vacation renters awaits you! Located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in beautiful Fancy Gap, Virginia, this home is serene, scenic and perfect for your getaway. The Blue Ridge Parkway celebrated it's 75th anniversary in 2010 with many activities. This home is just minutes from Interstate 77, just north over the North Carolina state line. Location is about 2 hours north from Charlotte, NC, about 4 hours southwest from Richmond, Virginia.

A large, shady backyard with hammocks and deck are there for relaxing, and the open (1,800 sq feet) floor plan makes it ideal for family gatherings, or quiet getaways. From the driveway, you have a view down the mountain over 50+ miles on a clear day.

Beautiful Getaway

Beautiful cabin, great location. Very peaceful, we enjoyed several rides along the Blue Ridge Parkway and had it almost to ourselves this time of year. Robin was very helpful, the cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed.

Fancy Gap cottage

From the moment we walked into the cottage, we felt at home. Robin was great at suggesting trails for our son to hike. We found some great restaurants and loved the entire area.

Beautiful area and easy to get to. The house was very clean and a good size. It was very peaceful and Robin the owner answered any questions we had in a timely manner. Great place to rest or a short drive to activities. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

Wonderful Relaxing Home

The Wife and I were looking for a relaxing and quiet get away to unwind. This place was just what we needed! The check in and out policy was easy and convenient. Fancy Gap home & Blue Ridge Parkway

We loved the location and could ride our bikes to the Blue Ridge Parkway.The home was spacious and comfortable. A 2 large trees were down in the back with an electric line string, making use of the back difficult. Dogs did come into the yard but were friendly. However, no one cleans up after them. The area roads were not busy so walking our dog was easy.All in all, our weekend was enjoyable.The host was very attentive to our messages.

The best.

Very quite place, 2 hammocks to lay in and enjoy the outside and plenty of room inside. Has Amazon Firestick, so we mainly watched TV on that.. Beds are the BEST.. Sleep very good.. A must place to stay at for 2 days or for a week or even longer!!! Robin was the best host ever.. WIll stay at the cabin again for sure...

Cozy and quiet

We had a nice weekend stay at Robin’s home. The house was much larger than I thought it would be with plenty of chairs for outdoor seating. The grill was out and ready for use and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. We had a little hiccup while there and Robin responded timely and appropriately. Overall, it’s a beautiful property and we would stay there again for a getaway in the mountains!

A step back in time

Robin is an AMAZING host! The property is vintage, but exquisite is the furnishings. We wanted for nothing in terms of towels, cookware, dishes, laundry products, etc. We needed some peace, and we found it here.

Peaceful comfort

We had a wonderful 4 day weekend stay at this property. Robin was very prompt and kind in her communication. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Robin told us it’s nothing fancy, and she’s right, but it was very comfortable and so relaxing and peaceful. We like to hike and it is located close to several good hiking opportunities as well as close to Galax and Mt. Airy for other things to do. We hope to be able to return again soon and explore the area more. When we do we will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Holiday Respite

Easy from start to finish, including getting there. Robin was communicative and responsive, though we had want for nothing. The property is being continuously refreshed - beyond even the photo updates. It was perfect for us and our pup to get away and do nearly nothing for a few days. Plenty of space and very comfortable for the 3 of us. We worked 3-2/3 of the puzzles there and just had some downtime. Had a great time and would definitely stay again!

This is a precious privately owned home and has been in our family since it was custom built in 1981. The view at the end of the driveway behind us (circa 1999) is overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and into Mount Airy, NC, Pilot Mountain, and Winston-Salem in the distance.

Why they chose this property

Close to Floyd County, minutes from towns Hillsville, and Galax, Virginia. Mount Airy, North Carolina (home of Andy Griffith, Mayberry) is a 20 minute drive south down the mountain.

What makes this property unique

The quietness and serenity are wonderful there. You are just minutes away from charming towns and many activities, but if you need 'downtime' this is THE place to come.
