Very clean, spacious, definitely an old building with an odd smelling elevator (not in the apartment) and some sloped floors. The apartment is delightful, right in the heart of the Gaslamp District, and the hosts were great with communication. Would stay there again :)

Quick Stay in San Diego Gaslamp

Spacious and full of light. Good communication and check-in process. Location was noisy due to bars on the street below, but the noise machines worked well. Lots of towels and other kitchen items.

Awesome location smack in the middle of historic downtown. Easy access to all downtown locations. Noisy at night as it’s a party district. Nothing a pair of earplugs and white noise can’t remedy.

Gaslamp Greely San Diego

Beautiful old building from the late 1800s with style and color, 12-foot ceilings, and location along 5th St, the heart of Gaslamp quarter - That's the great news! To be honest, there's a downside: (1) Gaslamp turns into Mardi Gras nearly every night during summer, so be prepared to hear a loud party every night until 2 AM (we dealt, but for those wanting peace and quiet, it's the opposite); (2) bathroom in the back is light a cave, with poor lighting over the bathroom sink, and overall, apartment is getting tired and needs updating. However, it's location is awesome and loved the look and feel of the old building. Lastly, the check-in while 5th St is closed was a bit wonky and the assistant did not speak english, but nevertheless, the proprietor had a plan that worked fairly well.

Super cute apartment

When we walked in there was jazz music playing and a picture with a fireplace on the TV Screen. It was these little touches that made our stay so nice. Yes, the street is very loud until quite late on the weekend but it really didn't bother us (I do fall asleep to the tv, though) and the landlords left a big bag of earplugs (which we didn't need to use). The home is plenty big enough for 5 people (however, there were only 4 dining room chairs, but we never had dinner in. Soooooooo many dining options within a block!!!). Super easy walk to Petco Park if you are going for a baseball game. Plus, there is a free ride service that you can download called FRED or CIRCUIT (different people told us different names) that goes all the way down to the Seaport area. We didn't rent a car and truly didn't need one. We took an Uber to the San Diego Zoo and it was around $15 total including a generous tip (less than $11 without tip). Uber from the airport was about the same. The lighting at the bathroom sink was quite dark, so to put makeup on I carried a big mirror out in front of the windows, but that worked fine. If I were to stay in the Gaslamp district again, I would definitely rent here,

Mini Mardi Gras

I wanted to be somewhere live so that I could absorb good vibes and high energy. I needed to feel inspired by the nightlife and when I say that this location was perfect, I mean it. It literally felt like a mini Mardi Gras on a Thursday/Friday. The clubs and restaurants below the building were filled with all types of people from everywhere, the food was delicious, and music was playing until the early morning. The unit itself was pristine. The building was secure and the hosts were detailed and tech savvy. The bad: the beds could use a bit of an upgrade mattress wise and the TV was rather small in the living room and the washer/dryer unit needs an upgrade. The Good. -The view is breathtaking morning and night -The street is blocked off at night to minimize vehicle traffic (Mardi Gras vibe) -The unit was so clean and the towel/bedding smelled so inviting -Walking distance to the beach, baseball stadium, and whatever you need. I will return in the very near future. I wish I could give more stars.
