We enjoyed our stay, however, we were upcharged an additional fee of like 70 upon check in to actually use the things the resort advertises, like the pool. So if I consider going back, I would have to be assured they removed that policy.

What you see is what you get, except the hidden fees at check-in. A resort fee at check-in is understandable, except that the Vrbo listing says all fees are upfront (and half of the amenities were under construction, so why is the resort fee full priced?) The staff there were very kind and the resort is very clean. Our room had a broken vanity (cabinet door was detached) and no deadbolt on the door. There was a designated public parking lot near the room but it was always full so we had to park far away. Overall it was fine, as we spent most of the day out and about anyways, but there were some things lacking for the price.
